    i have been using the seals ACE version that you had. they didn't have backpacks, but somehow now they do have backpacks, even though i didn't update to your last update. Did ACE start using them yet? Anyway, that wasn't my question. Did you make the backpacks or were they already in game? meaning the skin not the actual backpack. The reason I ask, is that I was playing the seal6 campaign and now the woman, I think she is woman 1 or something. She looks like the backpack. It actually is kind of cool. I thought it was on purpose but the more i look she looks exactly like the backpacks. here is a screenshot: So if it's not due to you or the backpacks maybe you know what it is.
  2. I have a couple issues with play that I am unsure of the cause, not sure if it's my problem, a game problem or an ACE problem. So maybe some of you can help. First, when I sync to six updater, why does it always erase my install/update preference? It always resets it to install/update/startgame. I change it every time, then click update, then it works fine, but then next time I sync it resets. Second, Possible issue with animations with grenades and exiting vehicles. Can someone tell me if it is an ACE issue or a game issue: -Everytime I throw a grenade, it gets about 4 feet in the air, and i throw it again. It is like a double animation. And because of it, I never know where it lands. -The other issue is when i exit vehicles I get on the ground and start to walk away, then I am exiting the vehicle again. Similar to the grenade. Another set of issues: -Another grenade or wounding issue I am having: I was playing in Namalsk inside a BIS static building. and i throw a grenade out the door, I am inside so i have a wall between me and the grenade, I duck around a second wall, and i take damage. How is that possible? No windows and behind at least one wall possibly two and i start seeing red. I also blinded myself with a flashbang through a wall. -Also if i am a medic, and have been told to heal 3 and 3 is in a building in room with the door to the outside, once i touch the doorway i automatically drop down and start healing him without control and not even close to him. Also happened as I was outside running along a wall he was next to in the inside. It seems like entering the buildings area, I automatically drop and heal, through walls or feet away. Is it ACE or the building? I assume it's ACE since I have never automatically healed, ever. If these are ACE issues I can make a tag but I want to make sure first. Is there a way to team switch when i black out? I can only use escape and revert while i go in and out of consciousness. Love the mod though! Thanks

    SEAL Team Six 4

    I am getting the same problem someone else posted that got no response. After hitting the x1 in mission 2, my next task is to kill the leader x2 in the white car in the convoy. It never leaves. The two gun trucks come but not the white car. I even tried going to him and I fail mission for not following rules. I looked in editor and I don't see any reason why he would not come but I have reverted a few times and he doesn't move. And since you already use the RH 416 in the missions, is it possible to add the 417's? I keep manually changing my gear so I have a couple 417 options like the 417 DMR SD and 417 grenade launcher. A lot quiter than a m107 and bigger than a .50 cal round. Anyway, so far so good. I never was too hot for Namalsk but after seeing it in it's natural color and how your missions are makes me like it more. Your missions always good. And for your question about seal six 5 or something else. I think a big campaign where you can take different roles. Kind of like Half life did with half life, opposing force, Blue shift, and I think there was another. Take a single campaign and one mission focuses on an infantry unit, then another mission you take the place of someone else in that first mission. Maybe a supporting attack helicopter, then another where you are a medic, and another where you are the opfor for that mission. Showing all aspects of that single campaign. I think you are one of a very few that could pull something off like that. Your skills are good. Anyway, whatever you do it will be cool ****edit- After playing it a couple times it looks like the problem with the white car in mission 2 is happening because it starts at the front of the convoy and when they all get in the 2 gun pickups move to the front of the convoy and with all the moving around sometimes the white car gets damaged crashing into the two pickups while it moves to the back of the convoy. Once it even exploded.
  4. I would like to see an 'island' made that isn't an island. At least like Chernarus where it has a sea border only on one or two sides. That way it justifies calling it a country instead of a country with a population of 20. Chernarus at least lets you imagine that it is bigger. Also it justifies using Army instead of Marines. Another thing that would be cool is to make it part of the United States. Maybe a territory or even a state. Maybe make it Alaska So we can have the snow environment and use the Russians. It can be like the Alaska mainland with all the oil properties and have an island a ways out as a russian forward base.

    Is there a reason why in the editor, I select a grenadier unit in the editor, I see him with the hat 100% of the time, (I use the RTE editor, and I'm using preview). But when i start the game as that unit as player, (in preview) then 100% of the time I never have any head gear? I'm still using the last version that had ACE. Once i got the new release, it caused problems, so i deleted it and put the old one back until ACE comes out with them. But I never had the problem until I got the last release. I know I'll get the business for using old release but the reason I ask is to see if it is an error or something that was fixed. BTW it doesn't happen when using the (A) model. Thanks, I love the units by the way, I use them alot.

    Regarding the helpful InFireBaptize, I did search for others with the same issue. That is why I said that i saw another person with the same problem. In fact there were 4 or 5 people with the same problem. And all but 1 was due to the shortcut being wrong which is why I posted what my shortcut was. ALSO included in the readme; "You can configure your Arma 2 with Beta Patch including other mods etc., just make make sure that: in your ArmA Shortcut start-up Target line;etc..." ALSO I read the "beta patch testing forum guidlines" and nowhere in the entire thread does it say that we can't test it with other mods. In fact none of the three sticky threads mention anything about other mods. AND in the searches I did, many others had other mods running and gave feedback as to how the beta affected those other mods. So you don't need to tell me I am not supposed to test it with other mods, and you don't need to tell me I need to search. So either help or don't, I don't need you scolding me because you have been here longer. If you don't have an answer then don't respond. But thank you for your concern.

    New Beta Build 70709 is up!

    For some reason I have been getting an error when trying to start the game when using the beta patch. The last one two. The last time I used beta was before the 1.05 and it worked fine before that. The error i get now is "Error compiling pixel shader PSSpecularAlpha:0 Anyone have a clue why using the beta is causing this? I saw another person say the same thing and their shortcut was wrong. This is mine, anything wrong with it?: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bohemia Interactive\beta\arma2.exe" -noSplash -mod=beta;@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_PLA;@X;@ACEX_SM;@BWMod;@ffaa;@mma;@HEXAgon; Thanks
  9. I apologize. I did read the read me file and I read the release page. I saw the known issues saying the at soldier was still old model. I assumed that was from your original release and since the only thing in the changelog was changing the AT soldier, I assumed that was what you wanted to change. And you said that "flora" was the helmet you changed it to, I thought flora was the new style that the other units had. I guess I should have looked up what "flora" was, I didn't think you would purposely change the AT back to the original helmet. So you see why I thought what i did even after reading the read me. And yes it is almost pointless to include the read me. Since addons are constantly coming out unfinished and constantly being updated and fixed AND since others (not you as i found out) don't always change the original read me, or don't change the known issues after changing, I almost never read the read me. Especially since they usually ONLY tell you who made it and how to put them in folders, etc. Anyway, I really like the units. Great work. Now the Russians look way more modern with the new style helmets. Thanks
  10. I tried using windowed mode, in other games it usually will tell me the reason of the crash. But I put -window in the shortcut properties and it gives me a smaller window, but no reason for error. I noticed a couple days ago that the game would freeze when i fired first shots in combat. that never happened before. I usually crash when the battle gets heated. I deleted anything that i added recently as far as addons, but still keep crashing. Any ideas? thanks
  11. I just downloaded this latest version and the ATsoldier with the RPG7 still has the old russian helmet. everyone else has the new ones.

    PedagneMOD for Arma2 released

    I found a major bug so far. Maybe someone else can confirm it. About the time I added Pedagne mod, I started noticing that in every mission, I had a stutter when combat started happening. Basically when I started firing on enemies, the game froze for about 4 or 5 seconds. Then everything was fine. I thought it was either my system or too many units or whatever. Then when battles got going, Arma2 would stop working and crash. The thing is, it crashed in every mission. even missions without Pedagne. So I didn't bother looking there for the problem. But after stripping each mod off, I found that when I remove Pedagne everything works perfectly. I don't know how that makes sense but.. However, I was using ACE,ACEX, ACE_SM, CBA, ACE_PLA. I have not tried it without ACE yet, but since no one else has complained I think it's related to ACE. Also I use the RTE, Real Time Editor, and every single time i try to add the Leopard, it crashes the game. I can only add it in the regular editor. So I don't know why that is but just letitng you know. I'm so upset now cause I love this mod, but since everyone makes everything for ACE, it is hard to play without ACE. Especially since ACEX has many things I can't live without. :) If you want, I can keep testing it and figure out which pbo is causing the crash. Why would it crash if it isn't in the mission though?
  13. I figured it out. It is the Pedagne Mod that is crashing me. I'm not even using it in the mission, but after spending hours removing addons, Pedagne was one of the last to test since it is not related to the mission. Once I removed it the stutter when first engaging in combat went away and no crash. I don't know how it can cause a mission to crash without being in it but now I will have to test it without ACE. It could be that they cause conflict with each other and maybe Pedagne works great without ACE. I will have to see. A big help though was reading some performance related thread that told me to turn off some Nividia performance thing off. It is supposed to help graphics but somehow slows down things. My mouse had a slight delay with the screen, now it's gone.
  14. There are so many addons, I can't put every little addon with a @bob to my shortcuts init line, I run out of room. The only mods my shortcut point to are the ACE's CBA, BWMod, FFAA,MMA, hexagon, and RTE. I tried wihtout RTE already cause i thought that was the problem. I will try it all vanilla, and if I have to I will start putting the addons in one by one. I tried using the addonsync and those others to organize mods, but between going back and forth with beta, and some others, I always had problems.
  15. I was mainly asking for a way for the game or something to tell me whats wrong. Like when running windows, BF2 (i know this is not bf2) but when it crashed in windowed it would give reason for the crash like "missing file" or whatever. I have been using the editor so long without really playing to far into games and I am downloading addons on a daily basis. So I don't know if an addon is affecting it or not. And since most addons, don't have very discriptive pbo names, I really have no clue at which addons do what. I have most small addons in one folder. So far I can only tell which are soldier or tanks. I never had problems before. But my system is: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC x64 based PC Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40GHZ 2401Mhz 2 Cores, 2 Logical Processors 6 GB RAM Total physicla memory 5.97 Available physical memory 4.19 Total Virtual Memory 10.3 Running VISTA There it is straight from my computer.

    Su-33 Flanker-D

    How's the progress on this. This is the best su-33 here and without a cockpit and no ACE eject it almost makes this jet obsolete. I would rather use this without a cockpit than the other su33 with the bright colors. But there is no targeting either. Please tell me it's almost done. :bounce3:
  17. Man Sickboy, I don't know how you do it. Anywhere else and a person in your position would simply tell everyone to search the thread. You keep answering the same issues over and over again. And still you answer them. Six updater is so easy I don't understand the problems. Keep it updated and look at what changes have been made. Maybe you should seperate the ACE threads into different categories. -Those that have updater and or installation problems -An ACE wounding/medical thread -weapons and vehicle issues. -misc That way people can get questions answered by other users also. I think alot of the issues can be answered by other people who have been playing. No one but you read anything here. And you don't answer all, mostly installation issues. No one searches the thread and when they do terms confuse issues. Also I saw someone request the Aantov Coaler jets that just got released. It has a function as a pilot to parachute all the units in cargo. It would be cool to add that function to Hercules. Thanks

    Im trying to play the mission that came with it but it says i need some Anzac air in order to play it. I have CBA and it gets updatedwith six updater. I updated 3 days ago. What/where is the anzac air?
  19. I have a couple questions. Would it be possible to start a thread just on ACE wounding? I don't want to start one then get yelled at for not posting it here. There are soooo many med items and not sure how to use them and or If they even work. Like i can have a medic that has bandages, morphine, epi and i team switch to him yet i can't heal the guy in front of me. I check the inventory and they are still in. When using them do they get taken out of inventory or is there a choice as to which one you can use? etc. And the earplugs. I use them with my main character, when i team switch, i can't put them in with the unit i switched to. It seems they only can be accessed by the original unit. Is that what goes on with the med gear too? I also don't notice any difference when using them I still hear ringing. Also, Does the Slat armor on the strykers make any difference? I fire a sad RPG rocket and it kills everyone inside and destroys most tires on that side of the vehicle. And that is a side shot fired directly into the slat. I don't know how the wheels get destroyed, let alone anyone being killed inside. I can see the wheels going if I hit below the slat, or even if i used a stronger warhead. I know the SLAT is supposed to cause the warhead to explode before hitting the regular armor causing very minimum damage.
  20. I saw someone else mention this, but I have been wanting this for a long time. If someone can make a cargo ship. At least something to put in the Chernarus docks. It would be cool if it could be boarded and used in missions. Have a couple playable decks. It could have enemy weapons and vehicles to cargo containers taken over by pirates or something. Anyway, would be pretty cool. Or at least can someone make some russian attack boats other than just a smalll little raft that they have.

    PedagneMOD for Arma2 released

    With the air, it is no big deal to have seperate bombing and aa in the av8b. I can have one focus on bombing and the other defending any air threats. After playing for a while, I can't seem to get the Eurofighter to take off. As it comes off the taxi way, it kicks up its speed too much while making that last turn onto the run way. It always crashes into whatever is along side the run way on the opposite side. Instead of it making a U turn it kind of does a J or L turn. By the way, that was using the Krasnostav runway. Maybe there is somehting about that taxi way that makes it different. And in the support NH90, the units sit on the two beds instead of lay down. So the one on the bottom has his head up the ass of the guy on top. And the guy on tops head goes into the ceiling. And it's not your problem really but since ACE is pretty much what everyone uses, there is no way to eject out of aircraft while using it. I liike using ACE for the vehicles. I'm sure that's last on your list of things to do though.

  23. Does anyone know how I can get a non-ACE aircraft the ability to eject? I like the Pedagne mod stuff and an F16 alot but I get stuck burning up in my jet.

    PedagneMOD for Arma2 released

    I searched all over to figure out what everything meant, (aka learning italian the arma way), and now it is making sense. I love how you seperated into specific regiments, like with the patches and uniforms. Between the mountain groups and the paratroopers and mechanized, etc. Instead of just making one group like everyone else does. Wish someone did that with the marines. Damn, so many things to choose from. Definitely you guys are setting the bar here. I know you guys said there were still things to fix. In the helicopters, using the FFAR rockets, they fire very slowly. The same as firing a hellfire. I don't know if thats done on purpose or not. It just seems way too slow to be useful. And just a suggestion, the jets, Is it possible to arm the two bombers of each class with some kind of air to air defense? they are left defensless if an enemy fighter is in the sky. And i didn't see any flares for defense either. Makes them sitting ducks. Anyway, excellent work, I think i will only be using this mod for a while, too many cool things.

    Great mod. I love the details in the vehicles especially. You didn't just reskin things and re release them great work. And very good variety. Now if the units were in english it would save me some time creating missions. I have to guess at what i am using since none of the units are in english. Thanks
