Update regarding Store.Bistudio & Arma 3 Steam key distribution
Johny replied to Placebo's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
So to update on the situation, we believe that about 99% of people should have received their Steam codes now if the order went through successfully on the system, for those that still haven't received their Steam code please send another email to support@bistudio.com (this will help us to get you sorted quickly). Please try to include the following information (if you have it): • Your store account name and email address • The purchase number or transaction ID or order number • Your paypal Email address (if payment was via paypal and the email address is different from that registered on your store account) People that were charged multiple times for 1 game should send a similar email (unless they have done so already). We are processing the refunds and you will get your money back, but it may take some time until we get to your request. It goes without saying we're hugely disappointed that yesterday didn't work out as planned, it's gratifying to see many people playing the Alpha and reporting back they're happy but one person who spent a frustrated night without the key is one too many and we're very sorry for that. -
Cold War Assault and Arma X included in the Supporter Edition will be delivered as Steam gifts, so you may give those to Friends if you like.
-
Both store.bistudio.com and Steam support Paypal Basic distribution will go through Steam gift/Inventory system. So if you purchase Alpha you get 3 Alpha Lite invites to give to your friends. If a friend gets Lite gift from you then he/she will get the Lite version plus 1 Lite gift to give to someone else. On top of that there are some other ways of introducing the Alpha Lite to more people planned. If you buy Arma 3 Alpha (for discounted price), you get to participate in the Alpha (ie. you get the build). When the beta is released, Arma 3 Alpha will be renamed in your Steam library to Arma 3 Beta and the data will be updated. When the full game is released, similar thing will happen and you will have "Arma 3" in your Steam library. I am sorry there is confusion, but we did not want to have people confused the other way around - people thinking they are buying full game and then Steam would download Alpha (because the full game would not be ready yet, at the time of this "pre purchase"). If you buy the game from Store.bistudio.com, you will receive a Steam code and you will have to activate it on your Steam account (similar to what happens when you purchase retail DVD copy of Steam game). here is Steam help page regarding activating the code: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5414-TFBN-1352 Also someone have asked whether we prefer Steam or Store.bistudio.com. The answer is store.bistudio.com, but we appreciate your business regardless of where you purchase! Just take care not to purchase from sites that are not listed on the website. There are people selling stolen or invalid Activation keys all over the web so take care to purchase from verified sources.(sorry for the OT ;) )

Finalizing 1.04 patch?
Johny replied to jureidinim's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
The partial documentation to the workbench is here: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Game_Editor_%28Workbench%29 When you have your island then I am afraid that at this moment you can only get it to the game if you replace one of the existing islands. The reason is the same as in case of tuning the weapon stats. The system to circumvent this bottleneck is unfortunately not yet ready (but it is coming). -
Finalizing 1.04 patch?
Johny replied to jureidinim's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
Final 1.04 has been released (both for download and to the Steam users). http://www.carriercommand.com/updates/ This is basically 1.03.0019 without the SDK files. From modding perspective no scripts were changed. There aer changes in the binary and also the unpacking script was enhanced a bit. There is also separate SDK version of the patch. (You should be able to overwrite regular with SDK version if you choose to) Also the patch removes DRM so no more activations upon reinstall of and OS. Now that this is out of the way, we have beta in the oven and it should be out next week. -
Well the problem I was talking about is in the main menu. But even so, you could do what you need with 2 buttons and a text widget. One button would add time the other wold decrease it and the text widget would show current "time"
-
1) Gui editor is rather straight forward (Drag and drop with widgets, basically a WYSIWYG editor). Alternatively you can change the layouts in the source .layout files as well (xml syntax). It is possible to make a slider and skin it easily(I am not a designer but, I think it is actually classified as progress bar class/widget which has additional slider features embedded). I think actually scripting the commands based on feedback from these GUI elements will be more of a challenge. Especially adding slider to main menu is a problem because right now only buttons and their "onClick" may be accessed from the scripts. 2) It should not be a problem to do what you need. I would probably suggest doing it in different way (hidden because of campaign references): Regarding the documentation - we are still adding stuff to the wiki. Also we will be putting up Work-in-progress version of documentation of all scripts used in CCGM. And Modding section of the forums should appear soon.
-
Finally, after taking much longer than I originally expected, here is the first version of CCGM SDK. This version is distributed as a Beta Patch, which also installs SDK. This installer works for regular non steam version. Steam users may get SDK by selecting "SDK" in the beta tab in Preferences of Carrier Command in their Steam Library. https://store.bistudio.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=101 File: Carrier_Command_Patch_1_03_0019_Beta_SDK.zip CRC-32: 19a3e3ae MD4: b5145fc38507d765a26a7f75d1b4104c MD5: a7171989f93c6ff0bebafcc6859a4e43 SHA-1: deb5b745c98cdd1e0eb1f7f88efb17beed9573d4 Information about how to use it may be found here: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Carrier_Command:_Official_Tools Special SDK section have been also created in the Feedback tracker for reporting bugs. Special note - carrier.exe parameter "-mod" will only work on version 1.03.0019 and above (version included in this patch). If there are no major issues with the SDK we will shortly release patch 1.04 to introduce this modding compatibility to all customers.

Have a nice weekend and thanks for the all the feedback and help! -
Not much to AI in latest patch?
Johny replied to jureidinim's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
Hey, more patches are coming. The "last update before official release" clause is there because unless there is a problem with this Release Candidate I would like to repack it and release it as full patch this week. You see - people that don't read the forums hadn't have a chance to try the fixes and changes packed in 1.03 yet and so the release is about getting some finalized version to them. And Modding tools are still coming. I won't give you date in case some unforeseen obstacles arise and I would end up disappointing you, but lets just say that we will see what we can work out with Santa.... @ Species1571: Sorry to hijack the thread a bit but to be frank I am totally puzzled by your work around regarding the issue with game launch after the patch. 1.03.0006 and 1.3.00014 should have the same files and should overwrite each other. Don't get me wrong - I am glad it works for you, but it should not work ;) I will reply to your PM and maybe we will figure it out. -

Johny replied to nateyj80's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
Exactly BlauBear! nateyj80 - just make sure you have file from our mirror and that the hashes match so that you know you have downloaded what we have released. Heur Virus reported in 1.03 patch .exe???
Johny replied to nateyj80's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
I just ran carrier.exe and all the DLLs in both Steam and retail version of 1.03.0006 Beta as well as the patch exe itself with negative results. I have even downloaded the patch from the link from the web and nothing. (I have ESET NOD32 AV with latest (today) update) I also ran it through online multi-antivirus engine. Results: 1.03.0006Beta carrier.exe - http://virusscan.jotti.org/en/scanresult/d868f116e7de7238acdb39a8e61ae599ae418552 1.03.0006Beta Patch zip file itself (as downloaded from the server) http://virusscan.jotti.org/en/scanresult/a3bcd171897a04c7ad37717efdb9de5b7a8ab99d In the past we have had trouble with AVG giving false positives when the exe was protected. Could you please provide details? What file is reporting virus? Which version of the patch do you have? Where did you download it from? -
Carrier Command: Gaea Mission 1.03 BETA Patch
Johny replied to Japalax's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - TROUBLESHOOTING
Beta patch has been updated. This initial CTD on some machines as described above is now fixed and it has some other minor tweaks as well. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?142203-Carrier-Command-Gaea-Mission-1-03-BETA-Patch Thanks everyone for helping us find the problem and fix it! If you encounter more problems please try to include relevant error.log messages (located in Your Documents/CarrierCommand) just as "Guess Who" did in this thread. It is most helpful. -
Carrier Command: Gaea Mission 1.03 BETA Patch
Johny replied to Johny's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - NEWS
Updated version of the 1.03 BETA Patch is out (Version number is 1.03.0006 Beta): https://store.bistudio.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=98 File: Carrier_Command_Patch_1_03_0006_Beta.zip CRC-32: 500c40bc MD4: 045bd7d0b4f8e62563d253c6beb57723 MD5: fbd2de8be8fd310a9ee25fedddd3100c SHA-1: 5983ad0e43230c1272c87ffe2b53e6c4e3ed38d0 You can install it over any version of the CCGM (apart from Steam version which will be automatically updated if you opt in for the BETA of Carrier Command as described in the original post above) including the 1.03 Beta (no need to reinstall, even if the game did crash on startup with that version). Save game compatibility is the same as in the original 1.03Beta. Main focus of this iteration was to fix the CTD upon start up issue connected to "materials/materials.h" file. Besides that some minor improvements were made in the Strategic AI of the enemy carrier(see the change log bellow). Thanks everyone for trying these BETA patches out and supplying us with the feedback. As always it is greatly appreciated!! Patch 1.03.0006 BETA Changelog --------------------------------------------------------------------- - Fixed crash on application start on some machines ("Cannot load materials file materials/materials.h" bug) - Fixed crash in Strategy campaign (Production Advisor) - Enemy carrier/strategic AI improvements: - production logic improved - improved "Choose next island to attack" logic - improved barque handling - improved carrier repairs --------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE to all modders: If you have unpacked CCGM data files in your game directory it might cause problems once you install the patch. Unpacked data have priority over the patch data containers and if you have modded files that have been changed and are thus included in the patch, then the game is going to use your modded files instead of the patched ones. I recommend unpacking the files from the patch and merging your modding changes into our fixed files. -
Device Error 80004005
Johny replied to Mast's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - TROUBLESHOOTING
Just to give give you guys an update - we are still working on finding out a solution to this issue (we are even getting some ATI/AMD engineers to helps us with it). -
The supply barque stop before reaching the carrier
Johny replied to genesis2010's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - TROUBLESHOOTING
As Dram wrote before, we were aware of this issue but it was fixed before the game was released actually. We will have to look into the problem and see if we can find what causes it under these circumstances. If you guys have any more info about what you were doing when it happens to you, that will be both extremely helpful and appreciated. -
campaign button blacked out in v1.2
Johny replied to PunkFriday's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yes. If you were part of the P&C program you need to delete your savegames and settings in My Documents/CarrierCommand . (Especially ccsettings.xml) Beta version is not compatible with full version. If you are able to get to both Strategy Game and Campaign in the main menu, then you know you did it correctly ;) -
This is interesting.
Johny replied to Dajunka's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - TROUBLESHOOTING
You have store.bistudio.com version, right? Did you remove your ccsettings.xml in Your documents folder between uninstalling 100-102 and installing 102? In anycase it is really interesting as both versions should be identical.I will try to see if I can find some possible cause for this. In the mean time would you mind uploading the savegame for me somewhere? -
Bug: Total lockup
Johny replied to Savant1974's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - TROUBLESHOOTING
Thygrrr, you have steam version as well? Is there something in common, that you think might link these hang-ups?(something to help us localize the problem) Maybe even some save game file that causes hang-up everytime? -
FFS: Back to Beta1 control problem.
Johny replied to Dajunka's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
If you delete you ccsettings.xml in your documents and then run the game, it will restore the default settings from your installation. (Alternatively these default settings are stored as ccsettings.xml in your installation folder so you can copy those to your documents to get back to defaults) -
Difference of Steam Key and BIS Key
Johny replied to iopis232's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
If you purchased Supporter version then Steam key will remain tied to your account, but you can give it to friend and he can legally use it to add Carrier Command to his Steam account(this is for support and accounting reasons). While you get to use your Store.bistudio.com version. -
FFS: Back to Beta1 control problem.
Johny replied to Dajunka's topic in CARRIER COMMAND: GAEA MISSION - GENERAL
Try removing <key code="left" action="padleft"/> <key code="right" action="padright"/> <key code="up" action="padup"/> <key code="down" action="paddown"/> from the <General> section of the ccsettings.xml in your documents
