Scroll Mouse for Increase/Decrease Unit walking speed.
sasha013 replied to sasha013's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
If you have control over your speed via a scroll you won't need specific pre-programmed movements. You can reach a target with a pace that's less time-consuming yet doesn't give your position away, just like in real life. Also it would exploit the fatigue system better in the game, as you can control your unit's movement without the need to stop every few seconds. They could even programme it that upon scrolling to a certain speed, units won't be able to lift their weapons (and vice-versa). No key strokes, just one scroll that makes all the difference. Current walking/running speeds, as well as the tactical run, have too much difference between them which kind of kills immersion. They're brilliant, don't get me wrong, and far more effective than 99% of other shooters out there (yes I know ArmA 3 is not, it's for comparison sake), but I believe this method, as well as an effective cover system, would really make a killing game experience. -

malden dlc Malden DLC 2035 - Official Feedback Post
sasha013 replied to sasha013's topic in ARMA 3 - DLC
Judging from this block by Ivan Buchta from Project Argo, it looks like they're sticking to a more southern European look, much like Altis and Stratis, with extra bits like a Vineyard and a Fjord. I must say I'm not too surprised, considering this was mentioned in the 2017 Roadmap, but deep down I did kind of wished they'd approach the classic OFP northern look instead. Hence the purpose of my question: by knowing its position I would've got a clearer idea where BI were going with the remastered map (which I'm still looking very forward to!) Still, judging by those photos, it is shaping up to be a lovely island. -
malden dlc Malden DLC 2035 - Official Feedback Post

That's what it's based on, but in the 'Armaverse' I imagine it's somewhere else, since the original island contained buildings in the style of Northern Europe? -

Does anyone have a wishlist for the upcoming DLC? Personally I would love to see the return on the F-35, maybe the B VTOL variant but with an internally mounted cannon. In fact, it would be really cool if they brought in a static carrier too, something in the lines of HMS Queen Elizabeth for NATO, and an alternative variant for CSAT. OR, another alternative for CSAT? For ADF I would say the Eurofighter Typhoon but Greece were never involved in the project. Maybe an altered F-16? Here's my take on where, I hope, BI are getting their ideas and influences: They might even decide to blend designs, like a combined F22/F35B or PAK FA/J20. Who knows...

To BI and B01: Will there be a module or modules available which create prepared configurations for the Freedom, with their respective animations? If yes, could they be adjusted, modified, maybe even given the chance of saving our own custom versions? Thanks in advance!

If a sonic boom is not included in the vanilla package, I'll bet money someone will create an audio mod that will add it in.
-
Agreed, it's ridiculous the abuse that goes on in the Workshop and you got to love those that contest the original authors when asked to take the upload down: "Why?" "Why!? Because I'm the original author and I fucking told you so, THAT'S WHY!" :D Is it not done to facilitate online gaming? I mean, they load a few mods together in one single download so that those involved in the group can get just one complete package. Not sure, however..

https://youtu.be/C9bCFJ5z1vk?t=332 "It will include a couple a new vehicles, character clothing and gear, decorative objects and a mini-campaign". Wouldn't get my hopes up on a new game mode, but what @slatts mentioned might be quite feasible.

Agreed, women or female characters would be a great addition.

Hi, I'm new into scripting and playing around with AI Animations using 'swtichMove'. I need help understanding if there is a way to position AI when using, for example, 'Acts_Executioner_Backhand' and 'Acts_ExecutionVictim_Backhand', using some other form of code, so that the Units are in the exact right position? Or do I have to painstakingly figure that out myself with the 3D Editor? I noticed some of Direone's Poses using 'attachTo' and I was hoping there is a similar solution for these animations. I tried looking through the forum and internet, with no result. Thanks.

The icon for the Orange DLC looks like a handshake with, what seems to be, wings coming from each end? Will this premium addition consist of some new air vehicles, maybe something to do with civilian factions? It is mentioned that the DLC "stands somewhere in between the Arma 3 Karts and Arma 3 Helicopters/Marksmen/Jets/Tanks DLC." It doesn't mean much, but I think it could mean vehicles and/or units, in a scale between 'totally military' to 'irrelevant to the battlefield', that lie somewhere in-between - hence Civilian?

@R0adki11 Seems my wish for a Gerald R Ford Carrier has come true after all
-
Well I just purchased the DLC Bundle and I'm looking forward to it... regardless of the outcome! :)
-
Sorry, I did word it wrong. Wiki pretty much cleared what I meant to ask. Wouldn't a static, fixed 'unmovable' carrier be better in regards to clipping issues?
-
Changing topic (slightly), who here would prefer a static carrier to a dynamic, the latter being able to place anywhere on the map (that has water, at least)?
-
A Take On Jets would be awesome! Bring back the old style 90s Combat Flight Sims like Jane's F18E or DID's EF2000!!
-
Fair enough.

As thread starter, you have my permission to close the thread, if it makes you feel any better Besides, as you rightfully said, every other post is just a wish now anyway...

I guess but if all packages are released the same day, then they wouldn't have much of a foot to stand on. They want it, they can buy it. Otherwise, they enjoy the free version of it.

It's a great idea but there's a chance that BIS won't succeed in developing an AFM for other reasons, such as resources, staff etc. I don't think BIS would be willing to accept our donations should they not be 100% sure that they can deliver. I imagine the development of such a model is complex and could take years? With other priorities in mind, when would it eventually be up to scratch? Maybe by that time Arma 4 will already be a finalised project, ready for release. I had always thought (not sure if a lot of people will agree with this idea) that the next Arma could be released in 3 separate packages: Land, Sea and Air. Since BIS are good at releasing 'free-content' versions of premium products, they could apply the same principle to these packages. Basically, should you only purchase one of the 3, the other content will still be available but limited in usage i.e. you can't enter/use/interact with vehicles/objects/units etc. In this way BIS could create separate departments in their studio, each dedicating to their own packages (such as the Air department having the time and resources in developing an AFM). Maybe each of them won't only be responsible for just units, but the design of maps/objects/wildlife etc. (Land for Earth, Air for Sky and Sea for.. well, Sea!) As for the economic side, yes you'll probably end up paying more, but for those who only wish to 'soldier' about with infantry units can purchase the Land package alone and probably only spend €30 (or along those lines). Of course we'll end up seeing a 'Complete Combined Arms' package which would amount to €90 (or somewhere there), using the same analogy. It's an idea, probably a unrealistic one, but I believe this formula could work. Or not.. :D

Female units in general would be nice.

All evidence seems to point in that direction! :D
