Through OpFor Eyes (TOE) Release Thread
desmondb replied to SB Interactive's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
awesome idea, there definitely is not enough missions from the Opfor point of view  -
ARMA 2: Private Military Company 1.00 released
desmondb replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
As far as I see it: The Good: -A new campaign (overall its decent, nice moral questions presented, better than Red Harvest) -PMC SUV with Mini-gun -KA-60 The Bad: -The video cutscenes in the campaign are completely unwatchable with stuttering -The KA-137 UAV error when trying to switch between Day CAM/WHOT/BHOT -XM8 has primary weapon (seems no one likes this, should've when with M4's, AK's..HK's..ANYTHING besides crappy XM8's...) -chessy rail gunning mission (seems like BIS is trying REALLY hard to be MW instead of what makes it popular with its users...a mil sim.) -unrealistic health regen in the campaign(again..am I playing Arma or a MW2 wannabe??) -while the new map does look nice, it's way too small -not a single sp mission... Bottom line: This just seemed rushed. I thought with the delay that they'd at least address the glaring errors with the KA-137 and cutscenes :( and finding out that even if you didn't buy the DLC you still got the campaign..so what exactly did I buy?? with I supported the BAF DLC from the beginning and still do, I think its AWESOME, I supported the PMC DLC from the beginning but after seeing all it has to offer in its current state, I feel like I got had, especially when most of it is given for free in the 1.56 patch. I will still continue to support BIS but I will definitely be very wary of the next...if there is a next, DLC and will definitely not be pre-ordering next time around. -
the stutter makes cutscene in PMC hard to watch
desmondb replied to msy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I tried gamebooster for the stutters in the cut scenes for PMC and no luck :( with so many people having the same problem, I can't believe this wasn't detected pre-release..... -
exactly, I really enjoyed the BAF DLC, seemed to be the perfect amount of content for the price, this one, I feel like they didn't even try really and I thought the delay meant that they were really working hard to release another winner...not the case :( no sp missions, a smaller map, less vehicles, less weapons but charged the same price as the BAF DLC.....

ARMA 2: Private Military Company (ARMA 2: PMC) DLC
desmondb replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
looks like another solid DLC, I'll definitely be getting it, what baffles me still is people continue to complain about these things like someone is holding a gun to their head forcing them to buy it...if you don't want it, don't buy it...pretty simple. -

Invasion 1944 - Wacht am Rhein
desmondb replied to JdB's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
^^ What he said -
this mod just keeps getting better and better  two issue though, looks like the the Quds Force Demo soldier has an error, he's arms seem to be tied to his sides and the rifle is floating in the air in front of him. Also, the torpedoes on the ASW version of the AB-212 act more like bombs than torpedoes, as soon as they hit the water they explode Also a suggestion, pretty much all of the aircraft modeled (except the C-47s) should have flares activated as all of their real world counterparts do

desmondb replied to roberthammer's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
very nice to finally have some accurate standard infantry M4s with 3 round burst selectors  now all we need is a replacement file -
agreed :D

Will you make A French and/or German DLC in the future ?
desmondb replied to Ians's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
looks like a bunch of airsofters..... -
Exactly, the whole losing your gear when you swim is retarded, especially when the ARMA II story is supposed to be depict a unit whose real life counterparts spends a fair amount of their time IN THE WATER....
-
Definitely, these were the best campaigns of the series, I'd love to a see redux in Arma II
-
exactly.
-
shouldn't this be in the discussion forum, not complete
-
RH, have you considered releasing a replacement file for your M4/M16 package for CO/OA?
-
I'd definitely love to see the USMC in Takistan, as stated before they are already included in the story that they invade the coastal region of takistan, and we'd probably get a bigger map out of it
-
Definitely add in the new units
-
do these have english stringtables this time around?

exactly, British addons without the ego or the bugs that take months to be addressed and all in a nice easy to find package, sounds like a winner in my book  -
