Take out the main Chedaki base in the Manhattan mission once you find it? I've given the go ahead from Boomerang, my support to go in but I'm not sure where they are or even if they are attacking. I keep getting blown to pieces by the Tank the Chedaki have. Any advice guys?

I can second this. With Vista 64 I had alot of CTD's and stuttering during gameplay. With Windows 7 64 which i've been running the last 6 days, gameplay has much improved. Runs smoother, and not a single crash yet encountered. :)
-
Yeah found out I could reload it in the Manhattan mission by driving near the US Vehicle Ammo dump, reloads everything that way :)
-
Is there any way to refill your ammunition stocks for the LAV25? I've gone back to Manhattan and refuelled, but I need to replenish my ammo, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do it. Any suggestions? Cheers

Personally, I will prob just go back through and replay Manhattan. Now i've done a run through of it once, shouldn't take me too long to do. Father Fyodor can keep his stupid guns if he wants them that bad.
-
I'm afraid for me its harder than that....I chose to report Father Fyodor's little weapon's cache, and the Napa guys don't seem to be too interested in taking me anywhere....or am I just supposed to follow them?

I'm on Bitter Chill mission just now, and I'd like to know what's best? Should you call in the chopper or make it by your own means? I know the chopper gets shot down and then you have a blasted Hind gunship blowing the crud out of you. Is not going with the chopper the safer albeit longer way? Because I have no means to take that Hind out the sky. :(

I actually rolled in with the LAV as it has a bigger gun on it than the AAPV. Blew the tank and enemy APC to pieces. Then it was just a simple case of mowing down the enemy infantry with cannon and MG fire from a long distance where their RPG's couldn't hit me. Once I realised you could destroy the tank with the LAV gun, it was very easy. Once the tank & APC were out the way, I pretty much rolled them up single handidly :) Now onto the next part of the game...Bitter Chill :D

That's not a bad idea actually, using the AAPV. I'll have to drive back to FOB Manhattan to get it, but its a good idea. I'll give it a go :D

Yeah it has been a joy to play as I said. Might go and have a go on it now. Need to take down that main Chedaki base, which if I remember, is not an easy thing to do. We'll see how things go. Perhaps the smoother gameplay may make it easier :)

I upgraded my PC to Windows 7 Ultimate the other night, and I have to say, Arma 2's performance on W7 compared to Vista is ALOT better. When I played it on Vista, I used to get stuttering during game play and this could sometimes make it tricky to play. The CTD's also didn't help things and I stopped playing it about a month ago until the next patch was released. I am also running Arma2 with the new 1.4 patch. Gameplay has been smooth and (touch wood) i've not had a single CTD yet :) A real joy to play. I've also discovered that rolling around in an LAV-25 APC is alot better for taking out those Chedaki sentry camps than a Hummer like I was doing before. Very happy gamer here, may it continue :D

I've just re-installed Arma 2 on my machine after installing Windows 7 Ultimate and I have patched to 1.4 also. Each time I try and run the game it says "conflict with emulation software detected".....i'm not running any emulation software though. Anyone got any ideas? Cheers :) EDIT: This can be locked/Deleted, i rebooted the PC, fixed the problem :)

Does anyone get a CTD when they try to save their games? I've had them quite frequently now, when you sometimes try and save the game, it will dump to desktop simply saying "cannot commit" Anyone else had this happen? It is rather annoying to say the least :)
-
Well I'm not quite sure what to do to try and fix/solve this issue except perhaps wait for the next patch release from Bohemia.
-
Ok, it appears I cannot go any further in the game. Every time I reach a point where it auto saves, or I save the game myself, it CTD's with the message "cannot commit" Does anyone happen to know if Bohemia are working on a fix for this issue? Thanks guys :)
-
This is starting to frustrate me now....almost every time i want to save the game, CTD, error message of "cannot commit"
-
Nope, the only patch I have installed is the latest 1.3 patch. No mods, no hardware changes either.

Ok, so i'm at FOB Manhattan and I've spoken with Shaftoe who has said to me that the armoury is open to me. Where exactly is the armoury? I feel i've looked all over Manhattan and can't seem to find it?? Also on a side note, in the previous mission when I was looking for Lopotev, I flew over to Vyroshnoye I think its called and was scouting the place out with my binoculars when the mission appeared to end on its own and then fast forward...is the game meant to do that?? As I hadn't done anything yet. lol Cheers guys :)
-
Well that's a bit sucky that it moves on, I wanted to do those tasks. Still, it all seems to be quite fun flying around the place into villages and whatnot, not knowing what to expect :)

If your support chopper that you use to ferry you around is destroyed....I don't suppose there is anything you can do aside from a reload? Or from then on do you just have to tab everywhere? Or procure transport of your own in the form of a car or something? Cheers :)

Hey guys, i'm doing the training mission for commanding a team. Now, the tooltips in the game say that when you are in the map and press tab, you can issue orders as normal. But when I press tab, nothing happens, no menus pop up or anything and it doesn't seem to want to let me select units. However, when i'm not in the map, I can command units fine through the quick command menu by using the Tab key. I've patched the game to 1.3, so, is this a bug thats cropped up or something? Or is there some seperate control? i've gone through my control settings and confirmed "command mode" is assigned to the tab key. Cheers guys :)
-
Ah yeah I see it now....happily getting ferried about the place now. Thanks mate :D I got to say, I love the sheer openess Arma 2 offers, flying around behind enemy lines, a real sense of you and your team being out there alone :D
-
Ahhh right, i'll have a look at that and let you know :) ---------- Post added at 09:16 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:41 PM ---------- I've brought up the move command in the communication menu, but unfortunatley when I'm in the helicopter....everything is greyed out and won't let me select anything :S
-
Scratch that last post, it was my controller settings. Got it sorted now....but a new problem has surfaced. Me and the team are now in a helicopter and I need to tell the pilot to go to a point on the map....i can select the whole team and I thought the pilot would fly us there but when I give the order, the chopper doesn't take us there. What am I doing wrong? :S There doesn't seem to be a way to select the chopper from the map to take the team to a point on the map. Thanks :)

Hey guys, I've been playing Arma 2 and it has been a bit stuttery lately. I'm putting it more down to the CPU than my grahphics card or memory. I have a Nvidia BFG 8800GTX 768MB overclocked graphics card and 8GB of memory. My CPU on the other hand is the only component that hasn't been changed out. Its a Core 2 Duo 6400 running at 2.13GHZ. I'm thinking of perhaps jumping up to a 3GHZ Quad Core CPU, does anyone think that will make much of a difference?? Considering the CPU i'm running at the moment.... :) Cheers for any input guys
