I gave my opinion based on me playing the game on 5 computers, I relize that some have issues with the game while others dont. The game is not optimized that great, but its worked and was PLAYABLE on every computer I tried it on (Yes it ran worse then I expected on a few of those computers, same as you.. they are good PCs but just didnt run at that great of FPS like I thought they would ahve.. but the game WAS PLAYABLE). Even if you have issues with the game its still not UNPLAYABLE. You might get low FPS but it IS PLAYABLE. There are no game ending problems in ARMA2 from my experience. If you are having issues in the cities then that sucks, in my experience the game is awesome and I stated MY OPINION, deal with it. I didnt say there are NO problems what so ever, what I said was that if people tell you the game doesnt work or is NOT PLAYABLE AT ALL, then thats complete BS. Ive tried the game on low end PC's up to High end pcs, with NO ground breaking issues. Yes it has small issues and some people have more problems then others. But Ill say it again.. The game is NOT "UNPLAYABLE". I stick by that 100%, of course some people are going to have issues while others are not and I relize that, what I dont liek is when trolls come on the forum and say the game is completly UNPLAYABLE with tons of GAMEBREAKING ISSUES. One of my friends gets 15-20 FPS on LOW and thats it, he admits the game has issues, but never once has he said ITS COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE or has gamebreaking issues. Yes it could be more stable but there is nothing UNPLAYABLE about ARMA2 imo. Im sorry you dont get 30+ FPS in cities, that must suck alot, especially with the PC you have, as its definatly not a bad computer by anymeans. I wasnt saying that anyone who has any issues with ARMA2 has a trashy computer, I was saying that people who say its completely unplayable are either being very silly or have bad computers and are trying to play the game with settings to high (I relize that people with good computers can have issues with some games, lord knows my PC doesnt like COD:WAW for some reason, but can run Crysis, Empire Total War and ARMA2 well). The last thing I was trying to do was bash you or anyone else who owns a good computer and ARMA2 and has dissapointing FPS. Was just saying that dispite it running at dissapointing FPS on a few PCs I tried, it was still very playable.

Another way to switch players is by bringing up the map (M button) and then selecting UNITS. THen select what Unit you want to use and then press SWITCH. You are no controlling your Sniper,etc..

The download probably stopped before it was finished 100%. I would just buy the game bud hehe, I wasnt a huge fan of hte demo but I cant get enough of the retail version of ARMA2 :)

The game is awesome, highly reccomended, but then again I LOVED Operation Flashpoint, and you seem to have hated it so I donno. The game has awesome user made missions, great realistic gameplay, nice graphics, good sound, fun online and a decent campaign. Love the game personally.

You said itll be out in 09, now you say 09 or 2010. 2010 at the earlyiest in my opinion. Its not going to be out in 2009 for xbox360, Ill put every dollar I own on a bet that its not coming out this year. The year is almost over and we have no set date or anything (While Batman, COD:Modern Warfare2, Minininja's, Halo:ODST, Time Of Shadows, Operation Flashpoint2 and many more all have release dates). I wish the game would come out in 09 bud but its jsut not happening. My friend is taking preorders for Operation Flashpoint2, Forza3 and COD:Modern Warfare2,etc.... but non for ARMA2 on 360. I will leave this site the rest of my life if ARMA2 somehow surprisingly comes out on xbox360 in 2009. I wish I could be playing ARMA2 with my cousins and friends on 360 at xmas time but its just not going to happen bud, no matter how much we wish for it to happen. Lets hope for 2010 maybe?

A few times I was scared/surprised when enemies where layign down in buildings in some rooms, freaked me out hehe.

I sent you a private message, but Ill sum up what I wrote quickly here. What I did when I started up ARMA2 was this... I pressed "M" to bring up the map.. then I selected the UNITS section.... then I selected the character I wanted to control.... and after I highlighted the cahracter I wanted to control, ON THE RIGHT SIDE I SELECED "TEAM SWITCH", which allowed me to control my Sniper or Healer so to speak instead of my main character. Hope that helps. I have done this many times in the past when I want to either A) get ammo manually for my CPU controlled teamamtes or B) Manually use my sniper or healer teammate to either snipe out bad guys or heal a temaamte manually instead of relying on the computer to do them.

Think he is talking about the Hardware issues more then anything, could be wrong though. Consoles are not as high powered as PC's, also some games where DUMBED DOWN as he said for consoles (GRAW1 and GRAW2 as a quick example.. which where completely differnt games on console then they where on pc). Or he could have meant the graphics might be dumbed down a little? (look at Team Fortress2/Call Of Duty 4 on ps3/360 and compare the graphics to a good gamign pc). Also something I would be worried about is the controls... ARMA2 literally uses every key on the keyboard for PC, might be a littl etough to fit that all on PS3/360. I would enjoy a console version of ARMA2 though (:

If a version comes out for 360 and ps3 I wouldnt count on it being out anytime in 09. 2010 maybe but 2009 is getting closer to coming to an end and we have no set date. I guess time will tell.

I usually just switch to the character that is out of ammo (go to map then units then change to that guy), and then pick up one of the enemys weapons after I have killed them. Wont be good for you if you want them to keep teh same weapon, but for me If I cant find any ammo for my main cahracter or any of my characters, I just pick up a enemy gun on the ground!

I have 2 friends who own videogame stores... there is NO SET DATE for ARMA2 on 360 within the next few months as you said. The game is not comign out september or October of 09, thats fact. maybe down the road but you said for suer the game would be out before the end of 09. There is no SET DATE for the game to come out yet, there is speculation about it coming out, but NO SET DATE. How hard is that to understand? Forza3 has a SET RELEASE DATE, Modern Warfare 2 has a set release date,etc... ARMA2 does not have a set release date, you saying its coming out Aug, October, November of 09 seems pretty silly when its nto 100% confirmed yet. You can not preorder ARMA2 for 360 yet because there is no set date that its coming out on. I personally would like to see it come to 360, as I play 360 aswell as PC, BUT.. there is NO SET DATE YET. And stop saying we are all negative about consoles, I love consoles aswell as PC and I would love to paly ARMA2 with my friends who dont have a PC to play ARMA2 on. But there is no EXACT/SET date for ARMA2 to come out yet, its all still up in the air. Its not been confirmed when exactly the game is coming out, its all up in the air bud. My friends ask me If there is a set date for when ARMA2 is coming ot 360 and I tell them "Its still up in the air buds", they cant go to a store and preorder the game and go pick it up October the 1st or what ever. They have to wait for more news and confirmation. I would be very excited if/when we get a confirmed relase date for ARMA2, but it hasnt happened yet, so no reason to get all excited yet. You saying its FORSURE coming out in 09 is pure hope/guessing on your part. I hope ARMA2 comes out for consoles but my guess is 2010 at least. Not because I hate consoles, but because I dont see it being out in stores by teh end of 09 with barely any confirmed news about it yet and its alreayd September.

Wierd, for me it worked. I just had to set it up manually in xfire (just show it what folder the EXE was in). But then again I got the retail version and im in Canada (version 1.03).

Worked for me on that mission, you are definatly doing something wrong. As others have said, press the middle mouse button (scrolling part).

It has not set date confirmed. The game will NOT be out in 30 days or so bud. It might come to 360 down the road, but there is no set date for it.

Its worth every penny. I cant get enough of ARMA2 to be honest. Fantastic realistic gameplay, good graphics, amazing editor, great user made missions out there already, good online, excellent sound and the fun factor is extremely high! I say go buy it!!!!! My favorite game of 09 so far (for PC and consoles), along with Dawn Of Discovery. Ther eare a few issues with the game, but its so ambitious and there are so many positive things goign for ARMA2, that a few problems are nothing when compared to the good things. 9/10 for me! I thought the demo was ok, but I am enjoying the full version a heck of alot more (:

Sorry to hear bud, wish you the best in getting it working better, as the game is so much fun. I remember I had similiar issues with The Witcher. I could run Empire Total War, Crysis, Crysis Warhead and other games very well, but The Witcher was giving me some performance issues for the longest time, was the wierdest thing. one out of like 50 games giving me problems. Sucks when that happens (was eventually fixed later on by a reformat which was wierd, as every other game worked great) :confused: The only thing I can really suggest is that you could try Windows XP instead? A friend of mine was having problems with ARMA2 running at fairly low FPS, but a move to Windows XP from Vista seemed to improve things for him quite a bit. Just an idea to toss out there. Im sure youve done this, but have you done a defrag in awhile? and your graphics driver is up to date? I know those are obvious things, but just thought I would toss em out there just in case. I dont think having the steam version would be any issue.

Thats crazy! 25FPS on medium on a 2500$ pc! Hope you getting working better soon bud. ARMA2 runs well for me and I only spent about 1500$ on a rig. Crysis and ARMA2 are the only games that I cant run at highest settings with great framerates. But I can play them both on HIGH with 30 FPS at least thankfully. Just not HIGHEST settings (: Been pleasently surprised with how good ARMA2 runs for me after reading some of the complaints about its performance. Only time I really get any slowdown is right when I load a saved game sometimes it takes 2-3 seconds to settle down to real good FPS, but then its smooth while playing. You try turning your AA down in arma2? Or Texture? I have everything on mine at high except AA, Process at Low and Texture sometimes at Normal and runs well. Also just curius.. but what windows are you using?

Considering that ARMA2 is CPU intensive, that new CPU would make a big difference imo.
