    do we need lingor units and mb_hemp? i thought only lingor island is needed? what exactly is the list of addons needed for these missions? thx.
  3. it seems that after the latest update (no beta) the opening menu background video that plays is messed up. i have retail arma 2, and steam oa. hopefully people know what i am talking about. after the splash screens the main menu opens, and in the background a in-game type video plays. usually it is scenery of one of the islands, with civilians, military personel and equipment, etc just going about their daily life. :) but it seems since the last update (i think that is when this started) most of the time the video that plays in the background is as if you are in the middle of the ocean, a bit below water level, with waves passing by and wave troughs sometimes allowing you to see above water. anyone know why this might be? it is not show stopping, but is pretty annoying. everything else in the game is working fine. ---------- Post added at 08:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:54 PM ---------- hah. this is good, figured it out myself. seems to be using the -skipintro option does this. never used it before, and just updated within the last week or so to start playing again, so blamed it on the update.

    when i start the mission with current ACE and Lingor (downloaded via SIX updater, version 1.1) I get the following addons missing or deleted: MB_hemp ibr_lcivilian_patch csj_snake CHN_crocodile this is the mission you just sent me the link to yesterday. it would be great if it did not require anything except Lingor! if that ruins the atmosphere, i understand.

    did you also drop the other addin requirements, or do you have a list of required addins? we generally run ace, and can add things from SIX updater network - but once we start stepping outside of that it gets difficult keeping everyone in sync. thx!

  8. i recall in ARMA we had .pdf's of the stock island maps, or someone did some very nice maps. i.e. topographic maps. do these exist for ARMA 2 stock maps? i have done some searching and can not believe they do not exist, but can not find anything. can someone point me in the right direction? thx.

  11. when using six updater to create a desktop shortcut, it puts @CBA last in the mod list instead of first. i understand it should be first per the instructions here: http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Download#What%20mod%20order%20should%20I%20use%20for%20ACE? sorry for reporting it here instead of DH, but i really did not want to create a login just for that.

  16. thx. we are having some errors in some missions and i wanted to have a place to start looking. typos it seems.

  18. so i have done a lot more testing now. i get disconnected after being in game for a while, anywhere from 1-10 minutes, or am not able to get into a server at all. when i can connect and get into a mission, after a while i get a yellow chain which goes to red chain and the messages of 'no message received for xx seconds' until eventually i am disconnected. once this starts it never recovers. checking the arma2.rpt file always shows the nat negotiation failed error message, sometimes with NNThink result - 2, sometimes with - 3. checking the server arma2server.rpt file gives the below. maybe someone has a clue as to what is going on. remember that others can connect to the server with no issue, and i have tried other servers with the same results so it is something unique to me or my environment. this is the server error when i am able to connect and the connection fails after a while: NAT Negotiation completed Unknown entity: 'copy' File description.ext, line 7: '.respawn': Missing ';' at the end of line Mission CO12-ChemLab[RLG].utes: Missing 'description.ext::Header' Server: Update of object 2:208 arrived from nonowner NetServer::SendMsg: cannot find channel #292291072, users.card=0 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 292291072 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 292291072 (Hammer) NetServer::SendMsg: cannot find channel #292291072, users.card=0 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 292291072 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 292291072 (Hammer) NetServer::SendMsg: cannot find channel #292291072, users.card=0 NetServer: users.get failed when sending to 292291072 Message not sent - error 0, message ID = ffffffff, to 292291072 (Hammer) ---------- Post added at 09:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:51 PM ---------- when i can not connect to the server at all i am getting a connecting failed message with this in the client arma2.rpt: Exe version: 1.03.58627 NAT Negotiation failed (NNThink - result 2) and sometimes the server shows NO HINT of me trying to connect most of the time. the other times it shows this in the arma2server.rpt file: NAT Negotiation failed - partner not found

    Arma II is going on the shelf...

    well i can only play single player. it perfomrs fine and i have a 8800gtx, but a pretty beefy cpu (3GHz quad core) running on XP. my issues are network related - get the 'NAT negotiation failed' constantly and can not play MP. the reason i bought this game was for coop in our gaming group - sucks to be left out and not know why. all the others in my group can play on our dedicated server fine, just not me. i can not seem to connect to any server. this game is probably shelved for me as well until this is sorted. sucks, 'cause the game play is great.
  22. arma II is a upnp application and written with dot net? then of course the router/firewall has to support it (admitedly any newer one do/should).
  23. nobody? no help? the reason i bought this game was to play coop online. if i am stuck with MP i may as well sell it. urrgh!
  24. i have done all of the above: put into dmz; removed from dmz and forwarded ports; never run windows firewall, hamachi is not installed. the only i have not done was disabling/bypassing my router. that i am not going to do as this game is supposed to handle NAT. i have too many computers on my home network and can just not bypass the router. the 1.02 patch even states that it fixed NAT issues so what gives? others are experiencing this as well, so my guess is it was not really fixed.
  25. found an error in my arma2.rpt file: Exe version: 1.02.58134 NAT Negotiation failed (NNThink - result 2) would be nice to know what that means. most of the entries are result 2, but some are result 3. anyone?
