Hey guys, when a vehicle is destroyed, it smokes, explodes, and at the beginning has fire too (obviously) Well I am wondering how to make it simmer for longer, once the fire and exploding has finished, how to make the smoke go from thick, less thick, and then just normal in a longer period than it does now (around 2/3 mins). I am thinking 7/8 mins long and/or when I have left the area or moved to such and such distance it would make the smoke die down until stopped altogether. Any help please? Thank you.

You knew exactly what I meant, he wanted someone to carry on his work, not just give to someone without the dedication to carry it on and give up after a few months or see how such of a task/cost it was then passing it once more to another person.

Database Keeper? Obligation? em... not at all, he did what he wanted as a fan of the game and it was like a hobby to him too. He did try to pass it onto someone else but then people chose to steal and break into his fileserver without permission, then all the hate comments, mail, etc as I said before why should he happily help those calling him and threatening him? would you? I bloody well wouldn't.

Foxhound needn't explain anything! he was nothing more than an Arma lover that chose out of his own heart to host files, run a website, and provide for the community, he DID provide for you all for 15 whole years with not much support or backing at all, and as you should know not everything lasts forever and at some point in life you just wake up and think to yourself, why am I doing this? then just make a change, HE DID just that so stop complaining. Backups? everything was there until the day the site went offline, I just deleted it all, I mean think of this yea - when we tried to get files OR do anything it was almost impossible due to the stupid hackers and throttling the server, it was so bad any file we were trying to get was corrupted! so blame those who ignored my appeals to (stop what you are doing, we are sorting it out) which I said more than once! -- Removed by moderator --

As I mentioned before (Fox was away in Scotland, I was dealing with stuff and trying my best to sort it out). So there was communication and something was being done, so what if the site JUST shut down, shit happens!

Assumptions are not nice, are they? I clearly said before that the Community Files were NOT for sale! just the domain, website, and part of the DB which would preserve the categorized file structure, etc.

No mate, that was only the MAIN reason, I didn't mention all the selfish, ungrateful, nasty, hate posts, messages, emails, that we have received for simply (closing down) did Foxhound deserve it? did I deserve it even though I was doing my best to help? well...? I get your point of not the whole community, you are right! and for those people, I feel sorry for, but a majority is selfish and hateful and why should Foxhound or even I try to support those kinds of people? Foxhound owed no one ANYTHING, he has a right to do as he likes! Remember that.

Wasn't bickering or blaming you at all man, I am just saying to make things please stop putting pressure on the server while also sharing with others how to do it. Who is taking these files by the way? just wondering as it seems when I finally get them all I will have to maybe create a torrent as it's massive in size. And please remember Fox wants them to go on to someone who will carry on with what he started.

@jerryhopper can you stop what you are doing by scraping data? and to be clear as I said before everything was paid for out of Foxhound's own pocket including the self-hosted file server which YOU are causing problems with as I am in contact with Foxhound trying to sort all this out. The servers which Foxhound has always had run his furniture business stuff too. So yes the servers ARE still alive and so is the site, just the domain was sold, and as Foxhound has stated he will pass on everything including the site to those who want to carry on the work of running it all. Also if you are wondering why your emails are going unanswered then maybe think why, getting over 500+ emails in the first 24 hours of the tweet really didn't make things easier, imagine replying to all of them? So please, be patient, and wait! I am working on it and as said before I will reply here once I have a solution for you guys. Edit: Foxhound is fine, he doesn't have COVID and he simply just met a woman in Scotland and decided to fall in love 😊

I said what I had to say, anyone else disrespecting Foxhound will be reported! SHAME ON those who think badly against him. I have sent you a PM too just in case of the obvious so that I can send these files to you once Foxhound has got back to me.

I come and go, just invisible most times and haven't really played ArmA for a while now to either get back into editing or playing, etc. There was me, Tom_48_97, Sunraa, Viper, BIG, and Foxhound at the biggest point, mostly Fox and BIG kept it alive, I was merely a news poster and moderator on the forums. Of course there were others that were on the staff but they were just content creators for the YouTube channel. BIG was the guy mostly in charge of posting mission releases and Fox almost everything. BIG left a couple of years back to have a family if I remember correctly, Viper just quit, Tom_48_97 and Sunraa was not very active anyway and was only responsible for server-side things then there was me who just dropped out a while back when Armaholic was just not busy anymore for me to even moderate so Foxhound took it all on himself to keep it alive on his own. I have always kept in touch with Foxhound, he was a decent guy to help me on a number of my own projects such as (Modsaholic) if you can remember. He never once asked me for money, nothing of the kind and that is why my previous message to those calling him out thinking he will charge you all for the database is just pure wrong, he isn't like that! he was a community guy and he gave you all a LOT. Of course, has times got harder in the years since Steam Workshop started hosting the mods he had no choice really to have a small subscription charge for those wanting faster downloads EVEN though ALL files were still FREE but some were slower to download than others, he had no choice as ads simply were not paying out anymore, and remember since 2006 this guy was paying a LOT out of his own pocket so you can't blame him. He obviously has his own reasons for not saying why or when he would walk away, but so what! he gave 15 years to the community and could have just burnt out like we all do, he does NOT have to tell any of you f*ck all! he has his own life and you guys all need to respect that. He put out a tweet at least and for me that is good enough, I am not going to ask him why he shut down the site either, it's none of my business. Now I can say, knowing Foxhound for many years now I can almost put my hand on my heart and say that he has all the files still, he knows the importance of them and of course, he wouldn't just delete them, that is the Foxhound I know. As for the website/domain, it is GONE! I have checked everywhere and it has been sold to a betting company in Sumatra: https://www.whois.com/whois/armaholic.com since the 26th of May 2021 when it was updated. I am waiting for the reply about the files and when I know something I promise to let you know here.

Me, I am still waiting for Foxhound to reply to me on Facebook, I will let you know in due course. Just to put this out though, you people need to stop saying the database is for sale! I would personally think that Fox would never do that, the (domain and website) yes! but as for the community files, no... I think he will give them to the right person who would take care of them and follow on his work. Remember people, Foxhound did all this file and web hosting for FREE out of his own pocket for many years! at least give the guy some credit.

Erm, excuse me??? Armaholic had its downtime sometimes and was of course one of those prone to be D-DoSED at times but unstable? haha... never! it was well looked after by Fox and even considering its age, thank you.

As a former staff member the Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube accounts had all been misused for a while now about when the time many of the staff got lazy and didn't bother anymore. Practically Fox was running the place himself and he of course had his own life to worry about too. Steam Workshop really didn't finally put the nail in the coffin in my opinion. It is really sad actually, Fox was a good friend of mine, I am still awaiting his reply on Facebook to see IF this is actually legit, the last I heard was that he was working on a new website which could compete better with the likes of Steam.

Hi, I am trying to get my groups (Alpha), (Bravo), (Charlie), etc to be specific group colours. Ie Yellow, Blue, Red, and so on... I had this working once, some years back but I forgot how to do it, it is something like this that I have now but doesn't seem to work so obviously I'm missing something: call{(group this) setGroupId ["Alpha"]; this assignTeam "Yellow"} I am wanting it to work online and so when the player dies it will still work with whatever group he is in. Thanks

There was, it worked for me before like I said I lost the method on how I did it as it was an old mission long deleted. Oh well, if there is no way now then it doesn't matter, thanks anyway 🙂

Here you go mate, all fixed and as it once was. Changed around some of the values to fit it exactly onto the helmet as before but also commented out attach too for my own reason (as mentioned) Thank you 🙂

@mrcurry, @Larrow, @opusfmspol sorry for the confusion, you know the hex marker on players the same side of you, well by default they are green yes? I found a way before as mentioned to make all the players on one squad to be of one colour, you can do this with STHUD, I'm not sure about other mods. But you will see players with different coloured hex's on there player icon depending on what squad they are in. Hopefully, that makes sense 😄

Also which parts do I mess around with or comment out to stop it working on vehicles? there is a bug with the USS Liberty and the automatic boats that drop from the side when you release and/or attach back to the main vessel the Ir Strobe option spams the menu and its kind of messed up where nothing then works 😛

Hi, I have this working but I want it to work in a better way, maybe via script and server-wide for MP? call{(group this) setGroupId ["Command"]; removeAllWeapons this; this; call{null = [this] execVM "Loadouts\Altis\Squadleader.sqf"; this addeventhandler ["respawn","_this execVM 'Loadouts\Altis\Squadleader.sqf'"];}} ^That is how I have it now, loading just a simple loadout script I have for each role (squadleader, medic, rifleman) etc... sometimes though the uniform doesn't load after dying so you need to die again and strangely that fixes it lol. Is there a way I can just have the uniform and loadout working by script so when a player joins ie a (Rifleman) role he will have the uniform and loadout which is what we want to load. Of course all working by MP and upon death the same loadout etc. Thanks 🙂

@mrcurry yes I know that mate, but that is for AI groups, its for a MP server when you join a squad Alpha, Bravo, Charlie etc and upon you joining you are given a color automatically representing that group. This can not be done without scripting, I had done it before but I have forgot how and lost the mission files I had which had them on.
