ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
Fraggle replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I was having a rather tough time getting Arma to run smooth. CTD... Stutters, GFX card down clocking. After playing with every setting possible, I managed to get some stabillity with, and a more enjoyable experience (Still having stutters/random downclocking) with the settings in the second post here. http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=100601 Not the most potent PC, but ARMA is running alot better. -

Just an update... I have found a more stable and less strttered way for myself, it may work for others. Screeen res 1920x1080 All settings ingame to Normal / High Disable Antialaising Disable Anistropic Filter Crank up the 3d Res to 150% My sytem is alot more stable.. but still the odd crash, but playable, even a little less stutter. Getting 42 FPS in benchmark 1 (V1.5) After patch 1.7 FPS in Benchmark 1 jumps to 56 Command line used -nosplash -noFilePatching -cpucount=4 -exThreads=7 GTX 470 Q9550 @3.4 4Gb Dominator @1066 750I FTW Win 7 64 X-Fi Fatality 258.69 Beta -

Is it down to how the server admin set the game.. or has ACE added icons to players. The red dot used to lase vehicals, seems to be on alot of friendly infantry, a blue dot on others as well as rabbits, and some dont have the dot over them. I was confused and shot both a blue and a red dot, only to find the red dot was a team member, and also a distant infantyman who had no dot, and also turned out to be friendly. For my actions I was kick from the server within seconds. Are these icons intentional for when admin disable the option to see friendlys on the map ? On another note Im getting ACEXPLA_MAIN not found, when Iv connected to an ACE server, but after checking the @ACEX_PLA folder.. ACEPLA_MAIN is there. -
Maybe the same issue as the OP... I notice using Evga Percision http://www.evga.com/precision/ to see the clock speeds in the G15 LCD http://www.logitech.com/en-us/keyboards/keyboard/devices/3498 that they are downclocking randomly. Iv tryed forcing Max Performance mode via the Nvidia control pannel but it doesnt help. Using a GTX470

Once i've updated i'll add a post feedback on performance gain/loss. Might take a while.... Window 7 Installed Arma 2 reinstalled and updated v1.5 1680 x 1050 All Settings Normal = 51 All Settings High = 43 All Settings Very High = 38 1920 x 1080 All Settings Normal = 51 All Settings High = 44 All Settings Very High = 38 Seems i may have needed a fresh install of Arma or I didn't remove old drivers thoroughly, I cant see window 7 making that much off a difference seeming there are now more process's at work. -

There has to be an easyer way by now...... freash install is still a nightmare 4 parts.. surely it can be incorperated in to 1/2 that. Finding the correct 4 parts takes effort. ( never sure on the correct 4 parts unless you scour the net for answers). Single install needed asap. Alchol permitting -

I'v tryed the New 257.15 drivers.. but reading the notes, they no there is an issue, but has not been fixed with the current driver. Vanilla 1.5 i get 2-3 FPS increase across the 1680x1050 / 1920x1080 range, reguardless of Low/Very High settings. (Without Mods) Adding -exthreads=X i see no difference in performance, ARMAMARK shows a 50 point increase, but still below the 3000 mark. Seeing how the New drivers are increasing performance over other titles, its only a matter of time befor a smoother gameplay experience with Arma2 is appon us. -

Im having issue's getting over 36 FPS. Running the Benchmark 01, Screen Res:- 1980x1020 / 1680x1050 Visual Range :- 2000 All settings Low = 36 - 35 All Settings Normal = 33 - 34 All Settings High = 31 - 32 All Settings Very High = 29 - 30 Im getting a very slight stutter on both resolutions for all settings, and slow texture loading. Slow texture loading is terrible whilst on a Multi-player server.. After respawning it takes 2-3 seconds for textures around me to load. Not sure if this is game related or just a driver issue. I'v tryed the latest Beta build. Command line -nosplash -cpucount=4 -noFilePatching is currently being used. I'v also tryed GPU_MaxFramesAhead=0; GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=0; But no performance increase. CPU usage across all cores never gets above 60% Memory seems to hover at 50% Graphic card temp hits 80 but fan runs no more than 62% Any idea's ??? Fraggle replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Since the last 2 update's.. I'm getting rather alot of "Recieving" issues. For the first 30 mins im ok (from reboot).. but then they get more frequent.. closer to 5 mins apart. Shift + Num - FLUSH only delays the for a few extra mins. I havent changed any settings, fresh install of Arma and Ace is the only mod I currently have downloaded. Any help would be nice Vista 64 Quad @ 3.0 4gb @ 1066 9800gt EVGA FTF 750i -
