Army SOP is Army SOP, so I'm gonna call BS on that one. It's all based upon the current theater, Division policy, and lastly Brigade policy. Regardless, things are done differently to an extent with regards to specific issues/terrain/supply etc etc, but still adhered to. The primary reason for sleeves down is not because some commands are dick-headish, but because of fire, and how badly burns can occur without proper protection. I'd like to see a CO that simply says do what ya want, it's our policy, we'll keep it. And then someone snaps a shot of some dismounted patrol outside of uni and posts it on the web. That would burn that 1SG's/CO career to no extent once the brass found out. I did it because I answered to no one but my team leader, and we all did it. We were outside of any normal command and control.

75th Ranger Regiment
DetCord replied to Rhodesy77's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Rollin' out on mission everydaywhen deployed (in RL), I've only ever found ACU's to be effective between dusk and dawn. So, it's really only effective an hour and a half in a 24 hour period. I do hope he changes the pattern, so as to better reflect what is currently being issued. ---------- Post added at 03:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:55 AM ---------- Sorry, I must've posted when you did. -

Correct. Another thing to consider is muti-cam. It's being used almost exclusively now. -
I'm sure has been discussed ad-nauseum, however, I haven't been able to find anything on it via the search function. Perhaps I'm just entering the wrong keywords... Anyhoo, what is this?

Then your game must be smoking crack. Apache on the right, the other icon on the left.

It's under the empty drop down menu. As Paul said, it's probably related to HiFi Sound mod.
-
You can place it via the editor, however, it doesn't load the object and an error is displayed upon hitting preview, don't recall what it is tho.

A actual trailer, as opposed to the potential intro I posted some time ago. Trailer 1 for my upcoming four part series, The Regiment. Based upon actual operations conducted by the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan, the series will tell the story of the U.S. Army Rangers, their triumphs and tragedies, as they fight their way through the Korangal Valley in some of the bloodiest combat of the Afghan war. Available in HD 1080p H4MeKGI9Pio

I'm currently deployed to Iraq, however, we're sitting at al-Asad airbase right now waiting for a bird to the States. RL takes priority, and I intend on spending as much time with my family as possible. Therefore, it'll be done as soon as possible. ---------- Post added at 07:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:21 AM ---------- I abandoned Vegas long ago. While it is a very powerful editing suite, the interface is overly unintuitive, and the features are substandard while being unnecessarily complicated. PowerDirector, which is what I use, it received a higher score than Vegas, and it's a far superior product.

The intro sequence for my upcoming four part series, The Regiment. Based upon actual operations conducted by the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan, the series will tell the story of the U.S. Army Rangers, their triumphs and tragedies, as they fight their way through the Korengal Valley in some of the bloodiest fighting of the Afghan war. The art direction is a bit experimental, heavily influenced by the HBO mini-series, The Pacific. I wasn't quite sure how it was going to pan out when we initially edited it, but it turned out excellent, IMHO. Available in 1080p fhXbuNjI7D8

Unfortunately, due to OPSEC restrictions, I will not take photos of the interior. The RKG-3 threat here is pretty bad, and I don't want the bad guys knowing where my boys sit. These are the best I can do for now. EDIT - I know they're small, I'm attempting to resize them now but our internet connection sucks out here. Also, before anyone ask why a guy with a username of DevilDog is in ACU's, it's because I'm a prior service Marine currently serving in the Army. Fixed

I'm currently deployed and the Caiman is our primary vehicle for preforming missions. If you'd guys like, I'd be more than happy to take a few shots of our platoons vehicles to be used as reference material for skinning.

My promo vid for ACE II. This is best two minutes you'll spend on internet for awhile... course that does depend upon how much porn you surf on a regular basis. Still being processed as of 6AM EST so the quality might not be that great. rduOhH22bkQ -

WIP JTD Fire And Smoke

Yours was a standout mod for ArmA, mate. Truly. It made the overall immersion factor far far better. Can't wait to see what you can do for ArmA2. Cheers -
And I'm astounded by the fact that the above needs repeating over and over again. Good God, is it entirely necessary to continue to vomit said complaints over and over and over again? Violence is perfectly okay, whilst foul language isn't? Oh, don't simply attempt to perverse the topic by stating that wasn't your goal, the presumptuous language utilized in an attempt to fold others. Point, you are not "happy" with the usage of said language. Point, you want a change because you don't like it. Point, while avoiding the topic of violence, you have made your focus moot at best. Again, once more for your edification, I'll refer to my previous post concerning the use of foul language. Perhaps you should go back one or two pages, mate. It basically comes down to two very precise, yet exploratory issues. Visual violence and verbal obscenities. The fact that you are more perturbed by the language utilized in the game states that you are wacked out of your mind to have even started a thread about it. That you are comfortable with violence and yet at the same time, totally uncomfortable with the usage of obscenities. Am I the only one that is totally lost here as to the topic at hand? Some of the people are completely diffusing.

Negative, it is neither a misconception nor is it over-thinking the topic at hand. As stated previously, you and the few others are perfectly comfortable with killing virtual people either online or in SP, but when it concerns profanity, it automatically becomes a misnomer. I simply do not get your thought process when it concerns what is proper and what is not, animated violence of the extreme nature whilst killing someone is perfectly acceptable, as opposed to some troop dropping the F-Bomb. Everyone screams realism, realism, realism, well I have to tell ya matey, the usage of said terms is as realistic as it gets, and I've been with this series since OFP back in 2001. However, I do understand what you are getting at, but what I simply don't understand is how you and others are so upset over this tertiary profanity issue given how violent the game is. I mean for f@%ks sake, am I alone on how incredibly stupid this entire discussion is? I love to pop someone with a .50 cal round, but he better not cuse? Really? ---------- Post added at 12:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:21 AM ---------- Exactly mate!
-
Obviously you've never served in the military, and quite honestly, it really doesn't matter what branch from what nation. Considering that I'm not currently deployed, I probably drop the f-bomb 40+ times a day at best, not too mention various other profanities. I've served alongside some of the top-tier, most disciplined forces in the world i.e.; the Brits, Aussies, Kiwis, Canadians, Germans, etc etc, and we all have absurdly foul mouths and use profanity regardless of the situation, whether in the rear or deployed, it simply doesn't matter. I certainly don't understand how an individual can become so upset over said usage while killing virtual people, either online or in SP. This defiantly qualifies as the utterly ridiculous.
