BattlEye Installers (A2:OA, A2: RFT, A2)
Tex Zero replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - MULTIPLAYER
Well I tried uninstalling BE, deleting the BE files from my user profile and cleaning the registry. Reinstalling BE both from Steam and manually from their website still locked me out of the 1.55 servers. I uninstalled BE, uninstalled OA from Steam and bought a new install from Sprocket. Installed the Sprocket version, updated OA and launched into MP and joined a 1.55 server that had previously locked me out. OA reported updating BE client. No problems since. Cost me $40 for a new copy of AO but I'm rid of Steam, the problems associated with it and delays in Arma patches. This issue may not be directly caused by Steam, but it surely was affected by it in my case. -

Same issue here. Steam version upated to 1.55. Cannot connect to any server running BE. -
Hi I downloaded the Steam version of Arma II last night. No matter what face I select in the profile dialog, in-game I am a bald black dude. Why can't I choose a different face? Thanks TZ

A.C.E. Advanced Combat Environment - Public Beta *2*!
Tex Zero replied to sickboy's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Noob question. How do I get the Javelin to lock on? I hold space which gives me the lock box but if I hit fire nothing happens. -
I have the Steam version of Arma II. Downloaded last night. While doing the Boot Camp missions I drove to the AT range and chose AT Practice. After I pick up a launcher the MOUT team from the village attack me and the Capt. The mission ends because they kill the Capt. I tried deleting my save games and even deleting the entire save/config directory but they still attack even though I don't choose MOUT training. The only way I could finish the AT training was to select MOUT and then sprint to the village before they spotted the Capt. Whats causing this?

A 6100 is never going to play this on anything but the lowest settings, and even then I'd guess it would be struggling. Time for an upgrade. Whhats the rest of your rig consist of? -
Anyone know what this error is? I get it when launching multiplayer since 1.03 patch. ---------- Post added at 12:42 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:38 PM ---------- Nevermind. Looks like its a little bonus for us Steam users.... http://dev-heaven.net/issues/show/3432

+1. Multiplayer on dedicated servers crashes or freezes with Arma2 stopped responding error constantly since the 1.03 update. Prior to the update I hardly had any MP crash issues except when a server fell over.

Yep. Steam users have to download practically the whole game again. See this thread ==> http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=82819

ARMA II Patch 1.03 & Dedicated Server Released .
Tex Zero replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Well that sucks the fat one. Surely they could give Steam users the option to manually update their files from a downloaded patch or run some sort of batch file on download to update? Good work BI. Once again you've managed to ostrasize a good chunk of the game playing community. -

GTX260 here. New beta drivers installed. Around 5+ fps improvement in MP and maybe a little more in SP. Graphics are smoother, less texture lag and has reduced tearing for me. I can run on higher settings without the stutter or texture issues I was having with the previous drivers. -
Missing xAudio2 file(s) & sound issues
Tex Zero replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yeah. Make sure you exclude it from FFDshow Audio. Oblivion had the same issue with FFDShow and X-Fi cards on some setups. -

Another issue with penalties in MP. If you are in the driver's position of a vehicle being airlifted and the pilot flys too low and you hit an object, you are penalised for killing any other players in the vehicle. The game assumes that as the driver you are in control of the vehicle- even in the air. So *any* crash is your fault. -
Missing xAudio2 file(s) & sound issues
Tex Zero replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I had the crackling issue with my X-Fi card. I have FFDShow installed and the issue was linked to the FFDSHow Audio Codec. Excluding Arma2.exe from FFDShow fixed the sound issues for me. -
AA setting not available in full game?
Tex Zero replied to Yapab's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
On my system AA proves to have a significant hit on performance. I've achieved OK framerates (30fps) by diabling AA. AF seems to have little impact. Has anyone done benchies comparing fill rate to AA settings? -
I agree with bender. I really want this game to run well and I'm prepared to buy a better GFX card but at the moment I don't think a better card is going to guarantee a better game experience.

Chopper shot down with me as a passenger. Pilot hits respawn before the chopper crashes and I get the negative points for killing a passenger - but I wasn't the pilot. This happened three times in MP tonite. Anyone else seen this? -
ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
Tex Zero replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
No. I don't want the frustration. I really want the game to work. I'm am however disappointed that BIS released this game with so many glaring issues and I'm concerned that that will cause new players to Arma (like me) to give up on the game. Particularly when some of those issues are pretty fundemental (like collision detection) and destroy the emersion of the game. I know that a lot of these issues seem to be contained to the SP game. But thats where the new players start. A bad experience here will taint the players experience going forward. Of course, the Fanbois won't care that bugs and problems might drive "noobs" away, but without sales they may not be an Arma III or a BIS to build it or update Arma II. No. Why should I accept it? There is a reasonable expectation that a product will work as advertised. If you had hardware that periodically failed to work in some fundamental way you'd RTM it. That must have been in the fine print and I missed it. Oh. there it is... "This product is still under development. Thanks for the fifty bucks." :p One of the reasons I want Arma II to be great. I applaud BIS's committment to the community and the communitys committment to Arma. So run an public beta program. Invite the whole community to take part. There's obviously no shortage of willing participants. Hell, I'll sign up. Just don't ask me to pay for the privaledge of beta testing. Look. I know this game is huge. I know that in terms of the scale and scope its way beyond other games. I just think that Arma II was released to early - and that disappoints me. -
ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
Tex Zero replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I'm disappointed. I soooo much wanted Arma 2 to be great. I wanted the emersive, realistic combat sim that COD, BF2 and others could never to be. Instead I paid $50 for an incomplete, buggy beta copy. I've suffered texture lag and crappy frame rates. I've watched the AI do absurb things (like driving a column of tanks into a dam and sinking them). I've seen NPCs that have the amazing ability to walk through solid objects while others get stuck behind the smallest of objects. I've watched my support helo crash into trees and buildings while seemingly unaware of the clear field I am standing in. I suffered error messages to apparently unlinked files when I call for support- and I've only been playing for a few days. I've tweaked and tinkered. Tried different settings and scoured the intraweb for help. And while this may have improved frame rates, it doesn't help with the broken bits that ruin the game experience. I've heard the cries of "wait for a patch" and "Arma 1 was buggy too". But that's not the answer. This game should never have been released in this state. Some of the issues, particularly with the AI and collision detection are so glaringly obvious that the developers must have been aware of them before release. Users shouldn't be expected to pay to test the game for developers and the community shouldn't be expected to fix the bugs. I accept that there will be some problems with a game and patches will be issued, but this is beyond any boundries of acceptable. Some of the problems seem so broken that its hard to imagine a patch big enough to address them all. If this was any other consumer product the market would have returned it on mass. Anyway thats enough ranting. I will however toil on because I want Arma II to be great, I want the game I thought I was paying for. But for now I guess I remain disappointed and frustrated. :banghead: -
BIS, get this tragedy with AI drivers in wheeled vehicles solved
Tex Zero replied to S!fkaIaC's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
I just watched a column of M1 tanks drive straight into a dam. Each one sunk and the crews were left swiming around the sunken vehicles. Surely the AI could be set to avoid driving directly into deep water? The more I play this game the more I think I've paid BIS for the privilege of becoming a beta tester. -
Cfg config/bin voice003 error
Tex Zero replied to Katrician's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
+1 Steam version of Arma II. Same error as Op whenever I call support. -
No-one has an answer? Are you always the same character in the SP game or can you change the face?
