    Straight-Forward Video Memory Thread

I have 1GB VR and i got Video memory set to High. If i set it on Default i get CTD's at random times.
  5. True, the 2 latest betas made AI a real pain to control.
  6. Just played a little with newest beta and AI is a real pain to control. AI doesn't seem to leave combat mode so when it's time to move on AI keeps proning, covering and whatnot. Since the 2 last betas AI has become extremely annoying and i really don't hope this AI behaviour will be in final patch :( I gave up playing in Avgani with this new beta and the one before, it's next to impossible!
  7. I think the crosshair should stay for those who prefere playing with it. And there's a option to turn it off which is forced by host/server so i don't see the problem with it at all. Personally i used it while learning to control the game and maybe others do the same, no crosshair at all might scare some people away... ArmA 2 can be a little scary at first :p
  8. And then make the setSkill command actually work: _unit setskill ["spotDistance",1] // would make the _unit spot the enemy within long distance. _unit setskill ["spotDistance",0.1] // would make the _unit spot the enemy within short distance. _unit setskill ["aimingAccuracy",1] // would make the _unit a very skilled shot. _unit setskill ["aimingAccuracy",0.1] // would make the _unit a very poor shot. Just wanted to mention it again :)
  9. Been a few months since i stopped playing BF2 and yes there was "noob" calling in every game i played, been that way in all fps shooter games i have played. Usually these "noob" comments are said by people being shot, weird you have never experienced that before
  10. I had similar experience, after being in combat i had a hard time getting AI team mates to get back in formation and follow me.
  11. I take it your talking about having you rifle in your shoulders but not looking through your sights and then shooting... yes it might be rather easy at shorter distances. In ArmA 2 you can do that aswell with a little practice, but of course with crosshair you need no practice!
  12. When i was in the army we trained aiming down the barrel and that was not super easy and specially not on longer distances!
  13. So only reason you are using crosshair is because AI have problems with bridges so then you can just aswell use crosshair... makes sense  Personally i don't care if people uses crosshair as long as server/host has the option to force it off for all clients and that we have, but please stop talking about it being more realistic with'em on than off

    ArmA2 - The Xbox 360 thread

Slightly... i think it's gonna be more than just slightly stripped to fit an xbox

    Few questions to devs.

And trying the demo first was absolutely not an option :butbut:

    lol whups! page this file!

Have you ever thought it was the way one put it that could trigger that effect
  17. I wouldn't mind more people playing ArmA 2, but i would really hate it getting flooded with teens screaming "noob" every other minute!
  18. It's correct these settings deffinitely effects units skills and accuracy but using the setSkill command or the unit skill slider doesn't change anything. The settings in your profile should be default unit skill settings and then you should be able to change a particular units skill with either the skill slider(to adjust skills in general) or the setSkill command to adjust a particualr skill like accuracy. As it is now all units are equally dumb or smart, lol :p Getting this fixed would make me squeze a little tear and pee a little in my pants of happyness :D
  19. Like i said full auto... i could see impacts with very little dispersion ;)
  20. Just played a bit... at one point someone started shooting at my group and pinned my 3 AI team mates down. I couldn't get to them and revive them because we were sniped at with full auto so i had to find out where exactly the shooting came from, it took a bit to see the little dot almost 500m away sniping at us with his full auto spray.... this is not right!
  21. I think you could find this script useful: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=89376 Also take a look at Urban Patrol Script it have code you might get ideas from. Here's a part of a script i made which drops mortar/arty in a radius of 300m. It's not perfect but it works decently.

    Fallen trees

I don't see that as the main problem but marely a minor annoying side problem! Should the tree become a "static" object as soon as it's fallen or should it be delayed? What if driver stops ontop of just fallen trees should the tree then detect if it's free? I see many problems with this, but if it could be done it would be cool but i highly doubt it will be something we'll see anytime soon(i do hope i'm wrong though).
  23. If it "could be" it would probably be in the complete mods forum :p
