I'd rather see BIS releasing other kind of DLC's then the last two. Those were basicly jack of all trades, there is a small map. some weapons, some vehicles and a small campaign. Id rather see BIS focussing on specific part, for example: - Weapon packs (containing all/most regular guns) - Island packs So they can use their development time fully to get a more complete package. For some people this game is more about guns or island or SP content. That beeing said i applaud BIS for their strategy to get the Lite addons for free, and for that alone i will buy every DLC which will be released.

Arma 2:OA Update 1.50-1.54 To 1.55 ???
Herr_kalashnikov replied to 5133p39's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Thanks alot BIS for your continued support. It is refreshing to see a company putting this kind of effort in to make the game even better. Treyarch and DICE please take notes ;) -
How many of you old OFP Veterans are still playing BIS games?
Herr_kalashnikov replied to nettrucker's topic in BOHEMIA INTERACTIVE - GENERAL
An oldschool player here to started and was amazed by the OFP demo and played the franchise ever since. I play it pretty irregular, sometimes not playing for months. But i know i always get back to it and still getting alot of fun out of it. I miss the days games actualy had a lifespan of a couple of years instead of weeks/months. -
Moveing ArmA2 to SSD - how??
Herr_kalashnikov replied to BeerHunter's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I did that when i got my ssd. Just copy your original installation folder over to the new disk. Rename your old one just to avoid mistakes. Change the couple of registry entries so they point to your new location and you're done. Should take only a couple of minutes. -
ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
Herr_kalashnikov replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Some helpful tips to get decent performance out of OA with mediocre CPU's (which IMHO is the bottleneck in most cases)... - Viewdistance is the main performance killer and i run at max 1600 default. Of course missions can overrule it but there are mods about where u can change it in-game to force it to your likings. - sceneComplexity, a setting in your profile file which gives some extra fps when u reduce it, i run at 100000 In-game settings Terrain and object quality seem to be the big CPU killers, low / normal are the value i use and it still looks nice in-game (even with such low view distance) Shadows off to give a extra boost, IMO fps>shadows. With these settings i can run most content on 40+ fps @1900x1200 (despite some occasional spikes). It feels smooth and responsive with merely a C2D 3ghz. -
This is a simple mission in which you need to lead a US Special Forces team. The main objective is to destroy the vehicles at a nearby depot. Includes: - Custom gear selection - Team switch Credits: - Kronzky - Patrol script Hope u enjoy... DL link here Armaholic mirror here

[OA][SP]SF01: Vehicle depot
Herr_kalashnikov replied to Herr_kalashnikov's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Yeah i use the green slope to enter the town with the road. Then just a basic straight push to the depot. Its kinda weird that i happens because its not heavy on scripts or anything. I run with betas to so that shouldn't be the issue. The error message sounds like some memory leak which is wierd because it's just a simple mission. Could u perhaps try it without csm? -
[OA][SP]SF01: Vehicle depot
Herr_kalashnikov replied to Herr_kalashnikov's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS

[OA][SP]SF01: Vehicle depot
Herr_kalashnikov replied to Herr_kalashnikov's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
Thanks for the feedback. The condition was ment to prevent that if ur operator dies u have to hoard satchels to the objective. With the new rucksack system it's probably not needed, ill note it on the todo list ;) Did u find it to hard (that u want more teammembers). It's always hard for a missionmaker to judge the amount of enemies to place. After so much playtesting u know what to expect. Was it the amount of reinforcements or the initial patrols? -
Can't install BAF, won't accept CD Key
Herr_kalashnikov replied to tpw's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
I know its abit confusing but it seems u need to enter ur BAF key twice. So the 2nd time it asks for it just paste the BAF code. Hope it helps ;) -
ARMA 2 (OA) : DLC discussion thread
Herr_kalashnikov replied to Dwarden's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Realy a great addon. Pleasantly surprised by the SP content this package has. Great infantry scenarios and the campaign is solid to (although i'm not very far yet). Units and vehicles looks top notch. A bonus island which is very usefull for medium sized pvp battles. Very impressed so far. -
DLC to Update Arma 2 content to OA and fix OA ones!
Herr_kalashnikov replied to massi's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Ofcourse all these features would be great, but personaly i don't like DLC which fixes issues started by a previous DLC. Patches work much better for that, imo. Personaly what i would rather see is a subscriction like say for instance the new PSN+. Default u get a working suite, but if u are willing to pay for it u can get extra content which u can use while ur subscribtion is active. I know it's abit offtopic but from my pov (and probably BIS) that would be a better business model then releasing loose addons time from time. Just an idea ofcourse, doubt it ever gonna happen ;) -
British Troops DLC released & Official 1.01 Update
Herr_kalashnikov replied to Pauldarrington's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Great, can't wait to get home from work ;) How big is the download/package? -
Viral threats (in its original meaning) are the becomming less and less harmfull. On another note malware and spyware is skyrocketing the last couple of years. If u run you're PC without any firewall or decent antiviri/spyware software u give the authors a reason to write those crappy scripts.

Yeah same was basicly overrun with the OFP demo and still loving the series. -
New ArmA 2 beta 72588 is up
Herr_kalashnikov replied to suma's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - BETA PATCH TESTING
Pretty awesome performance patch for me got a massive boost in the benches. E08 is on 55 fps with just a dualcore 3ghz and a 4970. Noticed alot more lod swapping though mostly on buildings. -
ARMA3 - Brand new engine or backward compatibility?
Herr_kalashnikov replied to maddogx's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
Unneccasary way to start a reply.. This reminds me of a minister from Iraq ;), but don't u think if the current engine don't have any issues this platform would be more popular. I know from experience that alot of players try this game but loose interrest very quickly after experiencing MP and the random bugs in SP. Some of these issues are hard to resolve without rewriting a big part of the code. If u call it a complete rewrite or not is a another subject. Do u think for example that if some company lets say MS make a new platform they gonna bin all the existing code? Not gonna happen every bit of code which can be recycled/refurbished will be used again. Can't see why it should be any different with BIS products. Also if all developers would have this mentallity we all would still write our documents in WordPerfect 5.1. -
Ross kemp afghanistan. $ Ofp Resistance 2
Herr_kalashnikov replied to jur-yes's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
hello kitty online forums -> that way... ;) -
Personaly what this game needs is: - a 21th century MP experience - A2 content to OA standards - Better Editing Tools There is content enough and with our community its expanding as we speak. But we all depend on BIS to solve the above 'issues'. So basicly no DLC but Expansion packs, IMHO.

Just cleared this mission in SP. Didn't encounter any bugs. It was a pleasant experience thanks :) -
ARMA3 - Brand new engine or backward compatibility?
Herr_kalashnikov replied to maddogx's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - SUGGESTIONS
A complete new engine would be the way forward. Incorporating all the knowledge and avoiding made mistakes. But if BIS hasn't started on making it I doubt we will see it within 5 years. -
is gamesplanet safe to buy arrowhead
Herr_kalashnikov replied to weedman's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
If u wanna buy a downloadable version I would suggest Sprocket. Ok its abit more expensive but they have very thight connections to BI so u basicly know u will get support till BI drops support for the ArmA series. Also the extra cash u pay ends up with the right people. -
WarFX Particles
Herr_kalashnikov replied to Opticalsnare's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
There is nothing preventing u to download depbo and modify the sources for your own usage. And if the updates u make are 'release worthy' u can always ask for a simple permission of the original creator. Thanks for the releases and have fun in the army ;) -
British Troops DLC released & Official 1.01 Update
Herr_kalashnikov replied to Pauldarrington's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
Whatever U find about the content its ok but calling paying for 10$/EU/GP milking is making your point ridiculous. U should think the otherway around, that OA has more market value then the 30eu there asking for it. But like u mentioned if u don't like the dlc u can skip it as ill probably do to. But calling it overpriced makes u unworldly.
