hello, since the update(1.60) my multiplayer games crash consistently after a few minutes. What happens is that the game runs fine for a few minutes and then there is a stutter in the gameplay sound falls away, then the game continues for a few moments and then it crashes to desktop. I run both ARMA 2 and OA+BAf (steam). I have tried running the individual games as well as the combined operations package and the same kind of crash occurs each time I play multiplayer. I have tried several different multiplayer servers and several types of games COOP,CTI, etc. The crashes seem to be most frequent when I am undertaking actions (in particular walking). I have also tried joining the server and being idle and then it takes longer for a crash to occur but eventually it also occurs. Anybody else experiencing similar MP crashing problems since the new updates?? any suggestions? I have browsed the forums and have not seen a similar problem reported therefore created this thread. -- I run a win 7, triple core (3.2ghz) AMD,2GB memory,radeon 4830(1gb) system. I have updated ARMA 2 manually and OA + BAF were updated through steam. I've been playing ARMA combined operations for a long time and never encountered this issue.

Hurray,rejoice.. it has happened! beta patch 160. 89647 appears to have resolved the issue of the random CTD's in multiplay. I guess it has something to to with the loading of textures which has been fixed in this beta patch as the CTD would always be preceded stutters in the game probably due to the texture loading issues.. in the past week I have completed 3 different long game (1hr+) sessions in multiplay without any CTD's, while as before all multiplayer games would end in CTD after some time mostly 20 to 30 mins. I call praise to the coder(s) who fixed this issue!!! Bohemia thanx !!

good to know. I must note that when playing (MP and SP )ARMA II (patch1.11) which I did not buy from steam I have no issues. If it is truly a steam related issue this brings isolating the problem closer. Nonetheless, I hope and think Bohemia or Valve should provide a proper solution for this problem, other then needing to buy the game again...

yes, I learnt my lesson, I started the game with the appropriate shortcut and it showed the correct beta version. Actually it was diffculty to join MP servers because I kept getting kicked with the message server cannot determine game version. Although finally I did find a coop domination server that accepted me and played for about 15 minutes and just as I wanted to attack opfor the crash happened. Somehow I think the crashing is related to me giving inputs as it is usually when I move my gun or walk around.

hello, I have tried you newest beta patch yesterday 88251 and unfortunately the problem still persists. In addition, I also found out it occurs in single play(normal patch version ), however only after a long play time (60+min). Again before the patch I I did not have any of these issues and now the game is basically broken. This as since the 1.60 patch I have not been able to play multiplayer games without crashing to desktop or for longer than at most 30 mins without A CTD . Although usually the CTD happens within a few minutes of entering the MP game. I really hope you are able to fix this problem !!

Same here, where do you want me to send my dump files ? In my case the crashes are consistent and every MP game I played since the the new 1.60 patch including the beta has ended with a CTD crash.. p.s. best wishes for 2012 all!

ahhh.... it says 87580 in version at the main menu, that would suggest the old version ..... at the risk of coming across stupid how do you enable the beta patch in a steam version of AO?? thxs

hi, i tried a new install of OA + BAF(steam), with the new patch (1.60.87622), as well as updated my Radeon drivers. but alas the same type of crash keeps occurring.. the game freezes, sound drops and then the game continues shortly before crashing to desktop... Although i must note that the new beta patch seems to make the game run smoother and it appears to take longer before the crash occurs.. back to the lab ..... I guess ....

actually a lot of things run quit well with 2gb and win7 and allot better then vista anyways.. I run at 1.3 gb with arma 2... I do have a 1gb on my gpu maybe that helps.... I tried the startup switch -cpuCount=2 and 0 and -exThreads=0 and did not change anything. problem remains as it was...

i have similar problems with Arma 2 since the 1.07 patch before (on 1.05)it ran smooth, but since the patch frame rate drops every few minutes or so and then picks up again for a few minute before dropping again. Tweaking graphics settings does not help or bring any change. there is an other thread post about this problem http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=102500 your not the only one having this problem and I wonder how many others are affected by this annoying problem .. I hope bis is doing something to solve this in the next patch ......

hey all, Since installing 1.07 I have the exact same problem.. In 1.05 the game ran very smoothly and generally never had problems with lag (settings medium). Since 1.07 I get that at first the game runs fine then once every minute or so it starts to lag incredibly and after a minute it runs fine again. It does not seem to be affected by the graphics settings. System specs: Cpu: Amd x2 64 5400 Mem: 2 gig ram Gpu: radeon 4850 Hd: 2 maxtor 80Gb and a wd 320 gb Os: win 7 ultimate

You can buy night vision goggles at the strongpoints you capture. I think it is a bug, but at a strongpoint of a town you have captured you can do, buy weapons in the action menu. You then get the buy screen and here you can buy complete NATO weapons outfitting kits for example sniper with a M107 0.50 or AT with SMAW. What i do is buy these setups which include NVG'sr and then put the weapons in my BMP or other vehicle, then let my team mates take them.

Hi all, I have been playing ARMA for the last few weeks and was very impressed as I only encountered minor issues and bugs. That is until I started the dogs of war mission. From the beginning the members of razor team are stuck and won’t move. I read that this is issue occurs in other missions too and for me it’s not a show stopper, as even without my trusty team mates I can continue the mission and perhaps it’s a blessing in disguise, as since they can’t move the are also less likely to get killed. What is a showstopper, however, is the unholy amount of CTD’s I get as the mission progresses I am about 4 hours into the mission and its dark and have captured a lot of towns. I have the feeling that the further I progress into the mission the more CTD’S occur and they seem to be related to the AI. As soon as the AI undertakes actions the game starts to crash. There is stutter in the sound and I am back on desktop. The CTD’s now occur every few minutes I spend more time loading up ARMA the playing it!! Is this mission and the underlying scripts simply to complex? I have stuck with the AI being supreme commander and have tried vote my self back into command but then CTD’s occur before the vote countdown is complete. Do any of you guys have similar experiences with the dogs of war mission and the CTD’s becoming ever more frequent as more units become involved in game play ?? Perhaps I should post in trouble shooting section but I only had these problems in the dogs of war mission. Thats why I do it here. My system specs are average Athlon X2 5400, 2g ram, radeon 4830 (no graphics issues until now)

Hey, I have been stuck in the badllands misson and would like to know how to buy weapons? or ammo. how do I open the buying interface? I did the tutorials but did not get any wiser.. please explain if you can in the most basic step by step manner how do i buy weapons ???? I assume it is all probabily quit obvious but i have not figured it out.. thanx in advance
