  1. Hey all.... I wasn't really sure where to put this problem.... so if this is an incorrect place then I do apologize ahead of time. Anyway, here is the issue. I am using the CAA1 and OAC addons to play ArmA 1 maps. I tried using a third party ArmA 1 map and when I try starting the game, I get an error right away before the game loads saying that the mod requires version 1.14 (from ArmA1) and I don't see the map listed when selecting the editor. I remember there was a solution to this before, but for the life of me I can't remember and I tried searching with no results :(. Does anyone know the fix for this problem? Thanks!

    The map was a Somalia map from PMC I believe. I also just tried the new thing they just updated which was like 3 old OFP islands on one map or something, but that just crashes as well.

    Thanks CMB. I actually did a quick search and found out eliteness does everything I needed it to pretty easily. I was able to open the config.bin, edit it, and rebin it back up all in that same program. Got the map to show visible in the list on the editor, unfortunately the map crashes my arma2 whenever i try to load into it.... ohwell.

    Arma 2 Addon request thread

    I was wondering if I provided my picture if someone would be able to make me an fairly accurate in-game face of myself that i can use? Maybe one regular, one woodland camo'ed up, and one desert camo'ed up? Just the regular is all I really need, but the extras would be kewl to have as well. If anyone wouldn't mind doing this for me, plz PM me with e-mail details and I can send my picture. Thanks!

Hello all, I am trying to help out a squad-mate of mine make a sniper type school and he wants to try getting wind into the mission so, while using ACE 2, we can practice shooting with various different forces and directions of wind. I am able to get wind into the mission fine, and it all works great, but now here's where the issue sets in. Instead of re-making the same missions many many times for the different winds, is there a way to like, maybe give the instructor the ability to change the direction and force of the wind on the fly while in-game? Like maybe an add-action that will trigger a script to change the direction and force? Or maybe an easier way one of you geniuses can come up with lol? Thanks for all help!

  9. Hey all, I used a script to add my own weapons and ammo ect to an ammo box, but everything is like thrown about all over inside that box. I wanted it to start with the basic rifles first in the list, then automatic rifles and machine guns, then sidearms, then launchers, then at the very bottom kinda following the same order for the ammo. It does not do this however, it appears to go in alphabetical order or something and it just looks nasty. Is there any way to get this listed in order the way I want it?

    Recommended/needed mods beyond ACE2?

    I use only a small number of decent mods right now that I'm happy with. I know you said besides Ace2, but Ace 2 is a big one, then I use JTD Smoke mod, WarFX(cant recall who made it ATM but if you search around you'll find it), I have the CAA1 and OAC as well as some ArmA 1 islands just for fun. I also use the VOP Sound mod, as well as the one that comes with ACE2 now, still feeling out the ACE Sounds so it's really just whatever I feel like using at that point in time. Ace is really the big kicker though. But yea, with ACE2, the smoke, WarFX, and your choice of a sound mod(if you dont wanna use the one that comes with Ace2) you get a pretty nice package. I don't think anything addresses the choppy voice thing. It's a lot better in ArmA2 then it was in ArmA1, but you just gotta live with it, or find a mod that disables the talking and just read the text. Maybe find a conversion mod with some soldiers of your choice, however the default US Marines are perfectly fine with me. Hope this helps you on your journey for the perfect mod set-up.

    SetWind Help

    Ok, so can anyone help with this? I just need help in figuring out how to make a script called through an add action run globally on all clients. I did a little searching and seen some people stating how to do some things with event handlers or something, but it didn't go into detail enough for someone who has no idea where to go with this. Basically right now the add action calls one of many scripts that only have this in the .sqf file " Setwind [0,-5, true]; ". What else would I need to add to that script, or maybe an init.sqf file to make that setwind command go globally to all clients, and also update for anyone who may JIP. Thanks!

    SetWind Help

    Yes, right now I do have an object on the map which gives the user the addaction to change the wind speed and power. I ran the mission off my own PC which has the scripts on it, I was able to change the wind to one thing and 2 other people were able to change there wind to whatever they wanted, and it didnt affect anyone elses wind. Will this be different on a dedicated server? DM - Unfortunatly I don't think a radio trigger will do it since I need to have an option to change the wind North, South, East, West, North East, North West, South East, and South west with about 4 different powers of the wind.... I'm not 100% sure but I didn't think the radio has enough options for all of that?

    Ok, I figured out how to get the wind changes in my game, but this is mainly for MP and I've run into a problem. When 1 person changes the wind direction and speed, it doesn't effect everyone, only there client. Is there any way to make this global changes on the server? ~~EDIT~~ Ohyea, and the command I am using right now is for example, " Setwind [0,-5, true]; "

    This is really in the wrong section and will probably get locked up here soon. Your best bet for help is in the Editing section. I get help there all the time. For help with getting AI into towers, do a search for "setpos" and see if that yields any results. Making units talk... I am not sure.
  17. I voted Six-Updater just because I've already got that working great, but personally I wouldn't mind a Six-Yoma collaboration either. Either way, updating is never easier now and if it can be applied to everything then why not make mission updating easy too.

  19. Ok, so I DLed it, got it working, accidentally went to Opens With option after Right Click and Properties, and clicked notepad. Now my unPBO and PBO things dissapeared off my Right Click options.... even tried rerunning the program and still nothing. Anyway to erase it and start over? Thanks ~~EDIT~~ Ok, so nvm i was wrong, I can PBO a regular folder, i just cant UNpbo something that is already PBO'ed

    CAA1 public release

    Ok, so I just downloaded the CAA1 - Full - ClassicPlants. Is this all I need to run say for example Sahrani? Cuz I just tried and I get CTD's with any forms of Sahrani or Rahmadi... Porto works fine, Avgani works fine, Afghan Village works fine... but I get a CTD with any of the originals from ArmA.... I also DLed the OAC Core and have already had previously the CBA for other mods. Hm... I dunno wat I fixed but it works now... nvm :)

    Thanks, this works, however I have now run into a new problem lol. The trigger is set-off by blufor, and the c130 is blufor.... so now as soon as the game starts the objective is complete because a blufor unit is triggering it lol. Any tips for this? Maybe a way to set the c130 to the civilian side or somethin?

  24. Ok, so I'm sure you guys are getting tired of seeing my name by now lmao. Anyway, I tried searching for this, didn't find it. I have 6 different triggers for 6 different random locations that my destroyed plane will start in. I need 1 main trigger to check if either of these triggers has blufor in it. So, what I did was I set up 6 triggers around the locations the downed plane will be. These need to check in the condition field like This && C130 if that's possible. Each ones On Act field stating Crash1 = true, Crash2 = true, Crash3 = true, ect ect. Now the main trigger needs to have Condition like " Crash1 = true or crash2 = true or crash3 = true or crash4 = true" ect. How would I go about this.... i'm stumped yet again......... :confused:
