Hmm triple head I assume or something similar. I'll have to take a look at what can be done for this, but it appears that something special will be needed.
-
Many interesting features and design overhauls. Definitely taken into consideration, so thank you for the input. Some of these will be possible, but not all. For example competitors would be a long-winded track that would be better spent on implementing something more impacting to gameplay. Either way, keep the ideas coming :)
-
Yeah resizeable windows for extra cameras sounds doable. I've added it to the desired features :)
-
Yeah we will do something about this, the build number is planned to change for each dev build. Announcements will also be done as well. More info tomorrow
-
Well dev build updates are daily (sometimes even 2x per day), while main build updates are once in about two weeks. Those are announced, but Dev build updates are not.

Rest assured guys the plan is to actually transfer the parts to dummy objects that sink into the floor with time. That is, those parts which have some velocity will stay physicalized until rest, where they become static debris. Static debris will slowly sink into the ground, disappearing eventually. Though we didn't have time to do this yet. Additionally, parts should gather dust. The technical aspects are there for this, just not yet utilized. Again, coming up soon.
-
Yeah looks like someone set that mission up incorrectly, should specify "mobile only". We'll fix that. As for missions showing up when you don't have the tech, that is also incorrect. Will be sorted.
-
Cheers for the support guys! Definitely want this to turn out well, so all effort is going into this.
-
Hi, cheers for the input. Yeah weather is planned and will be added asap.

What's going on with the Landers
dram replied to EmissionGeneration's topic in TAKE ON MARS - SUGGESTIONS
Whoa, that should be fixed already! Yeah had a vacation yesterday, but will look into this issue today. I expect it will fully repaired today with the addition of manual landings. -
Just fixed it, available in today's upcoming dev build
-
So the game is out! Enjoy it guys and if you have any suggestions or bugs, don't forget to post them here: http://mars.takeonthegame.com/feedback/my_view_page.php Remember, it is early access, so the game will change depending on your feedback. See you on Mars!
-
Cheers, that will definitely help!
-
Hmm, actually missions which are not within your tech level should not show up... Could you send a screenshot over please of the map with the mission selected?

Definitely something of this sort needs to be in place, but it should be possible to force an override.- 111 replies

Take On Mars discussion (continued from off-topic)
dram replied to dram's topic in TAKE ON MARS - GENERAL
The hardcore realistic setting will work in the same way as reality. That is, you observe the rover's surroundings via its cameras, make a plan for the day, input it into a console (things like FORWARD 50m, LEFT 20deg) send it, and wait before it starts to fulfill them. The plan with this in the final is to have it so you can give it instructions, save the game, turn off the pc, come back in the afternoon and see where it has gotten to. As an example, but this will take a lot of time to complete. ---------- Post added at 11:32 ---------- Previous post was at 11:28 ---------- Yes it's a proprietary format. We will provide an exporter though at this point it is only for 3ds max 2009. Hopefully that will change. Not at the moment, remember we have it location based, so each location is 4x4km in size, hence we would need to create the location, but there are plans to do something of this sort, though do remember that Olympus Mons is gigantic, and most certainly would not fit in a single location, not even its top would, which is approximately 80x60km in size.- 111 replies

Nice Concept, but Lack of Freedom
dram replied to EmissionGeneration's topic in TAKE ON MARS - SUGGESTIONS
Interesting ideas, but you are aware you can actually take photos of anything anywhere, analyze anything anywhere and so on right? It is just that to complete a particular objective you must perform the analysis in the desired location or take a photo of a specific object. -
Please give us the ability to set an automatic timer for photography!
dram replied to CaidKean's topic in TAKE ON MARS - SUGGESTIONS
Interesting idea, may be possible (auto-timer to the HUD). Please post it in the tracker! -
I broke my campaign - should have received a warning
dram replied to Falc's topic in TAKE ON MARS - SUGGESTIONS
The economy factor is being sorted at the moment, especially due to situations like you describe. -
Yes this will be added, though it is something that will take a little more time, as for solar panels you have to check how much of the sky they can see at a given point in time. But it is doable, so expect it some time within the next few weeks.

Possible solution to light-delay problem
dram replied to Drunkrobot's topic in TAKE ON MARS - SUGGESTIONS
The remote operation of rovers with the OWLT (One Way Light Time delay) is not set in stone, but very much desired. We are definitely planning on adding controlling the rover just like NASA does - through a series of console commands: FORWARD 50m LEFT 20deg FORWARD 10m and so on... -
ability to hide or minimize more of the HUD
dram replied to entspeak's topic in TAKE ON MARS - SUGGESTIONS
I expect you are aware that the H key hides the HUD right? In any case, we are planning on making it possible to individually minimize every part of the HUD, though currently it is lower priority, bugs first. -
Radial menu - joystick cursor control
dram replied to entspeak's topic in TAKE ON MARS - SUGGESTIONS
Yeah, the radial menu is incomplete currently. Controller and joystick support will be added progressively. -
Deleting vehicle presets you make will be added soon. So you won't have to do it manually afterward.
