ArmA2 / OA (low) performance issues
Blah72 replied to R3fl3x's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Your missing the bigger picture. I'm using the Beta and i still get shit performance, there is no gain over the 1.04patch. I get ridiculous stuttering and nothing does anything to relieve it. There is nothing posted on these forums here that has helped and i have tried everything that could be slightly related to the problem. The bottom line is this game has serious issues, and the advice on these forums does not solve the problem(s) for everybody. The HDD thing is also a bit iffy. There is no reason everyone should have to fork out like $500 for an SSD or raptor to run this game properly. I have tried the whole ram disk option and so have other people, and none of us have gotten any improvement with that whatsoever,so its debateable if the HDD is the issue anyway despite one persons testing. -
Will my PC Run this? What CPU/GPU to get? What settings? System Specifications.

I actually have this exact same problem, word for word. I just upgraded from an 8800gts 512mb to an ati4890 factory overclocked, and i get absolutely pathetic performance in all missions regardless of settings, yet the game runs great in the editor. All very high settings or all low settings makes practically no difference to performance. My 8800gts was performing as well as this new card... My system is : Intel Q6600 @3.2ghz Ati 4890 factory overclocked 6gb ddr2 800mhz ram win7 64bit 1920x1200 lcd. -
I finaly managed to complete this Badlands mission, fucking hard i tell you, dont think ive had that much trouble for a long time. Dogs of war is just as fucked up though. Anyone know if this actually fixes in later missions? As of badlands i cannot control my squad, its the same in dogs of war. If it doesnt fix by the next mission ill just go play multi till BIS get their act together. I honestly do wonder if they bothered to spend even 5 min play testing this game.

No I haven't, I just used the support email provided by nexway. Seemed like the logical thing to do. Anyway now I shall email 505 games and see if I can get a reply from them. Thanks for the suggestion.

thanks. they added that link after i downloaded it so i never saw it. unfortunately i still dont have an answer to the more pressing question.
-
ok thanks. but the problem is still they wont reply to my emails so if i need a new code/serial nubmer what am i supposed to do if they wont reply? I know ther is a general securom revoke tool but it wont work with this nexway version.

yeah it depends on the difficulty setting obviously. On the highest level they are all seeing gods. -
Well i bought my copy from nexway in digital form. Its all fine and runs ok. The problem is that they neglected to specify before purchase that i only get to install it limited times before im not allowed to play again. I have emailed them countless times since i bought it but nexway have ignored all my emails and wont tell me how many times i can install it before i am prevented from installing again, how i would go about getting this fixed once it occurs, and where i can get a copy of the manual for this game. So what am i supposed to do? im bassically going to end up with a completely useless game because nexway wont respond. Can someone from BIS please try and contact them to get some answers for me and everyone else trying to get answers from them? I honestly fail to see how this mechanism prevents piracy of the game in any way, shape, or form. If anything its encouraging it on a huge scale. Why should i, a paying consumer, stand to be prevented from playing a game i legitly purchased, while pirates can easily bypass this pathetic joke for an antipiracy measure?
