When the mission starts you can control some groups as commander, so i take all of them and rush the first village, HQ is deployed and everything is ok. Usually i lose some units doing that and i would like to "refill" them but every unit or vehicle that is created joins my own group. How can i send units to others groups? can i create new groups?" I think this is a pretty stupid question but i haven´t been able to find an answer.

If they can create a new campaign every 4 months ( 3 DLC /year) adding some extra units or vehicles , and sometimes new chunks of terrain/settings here and there, i am all for it. It could be an interconnected campaign with its own storyline. In fact it could be like a "mmorpg" progressing the storyline, named characters, a global setting.

http://www.bistudio.com/index.php?option=com_poll&task=results&id=16 The campaign is the entry point for every new player. The campaign(s) and single player missions usually are underated in forums, multiplayer oriented people are a lot more vocal in the forums, but in fact most of the player base don´t play multiplayer and don´t use the editor. A very good campaign is vital. -

Lets hope this time the campaign is well tested and bugg free so the game can score higher in magazine/site´s reviews. I miss lore info about the new setting. -
Still no full game manual (NOT editing manual)?
katua replied to ladlon's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
The community should make a game manual. Take the estructure of the official game manual and expand it from there, also adding more sections. Every action and mechanic in the game should be explained, every weapon capabilitie, vehicles, warfare...everything. It is too much work for one person so a wiki could be a good tool. I am sure a lot of people would be ready to collaborate. -
This game isn´t a 1st person shooter, most close to that experience is the vehicle and airplane-heli gameplay in arma 2 but the core of the game is all about infantery. Standar 1st person shooters fans will not like this game unless they have huge PC gaming background in a lot of genres (RPG, flight sims, RTS to name a few). There could be superhardcore military themed game´s fans that dont play anything but Arma, but i think to apreciate this game in full extension you have to understand and love the basics of some PC genres. For example i have no doubt that a person who loves Oblivion, IL-2 series and Commandos RTS games will love this one, but for example COD, BF2 fans if they dont have some gaming background apart from shooters could not. That said, I still enjoy 1st person shooters, but arma is another thing.

I can´t believe no one is able to answer this. Someone has to know it.

I don´t understand the iron sights, what angles are needed to hold the weapon and what relation has with range , min-max-ideal ranges etc Now for me it is a work of adjusting shoots based on impacts, no ideal at all.

I have to admit i don´t understand speaking english from a natural born american or european english speaker, british ones are easier but still hard, so in this case i could understand pretty good most of the speech.

I think that information about javelin use (and other weapons) should be in the manual or somewhere else. The lack of information about game mechanics is huge and for new players can be a problem. I dont think this game has a high learning curve, problem is there is not documentation.

What is the value of a decent Simulation Engine??
katua replied to S!fkaIaC's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
If you go to exchange money, with 1 € they give you 1.41025 $ or if you go with 1 $ they give you 0.709437 €. For example 50 € is 70.4 $ -
This is my fear so far. It was so easy to get server full in the demo, but that kind of gameplay is not popular in the full version, or perhaps we are spread an lost and dont have the tools to gather properly.

I have a question about this, when you are looking for those small/medium group user made coop missions (not evo, dom etc) where is the better place to find them with the gamespy filter? Coop section, Team section?. It is really hard to find those games with all the spam from those maps who everyone and their molthers play. Perhaps is needed another section where we can gather? or i am missing something?.

Could this be possibly the best game in history?
katua replied to TheMonster's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
It is impossible to say which is the best game of all genres, it is very subjetive. In the military themed games my all time top list could be: OFP - Arma , IL-2 sturmovik, Command & conquer, Total War series, Eurofighter 2000, Lock on - DCS black shark, Silent hunter series, Pyro´s Commandos franchise and Splinter Cell. But again, it is hard to compare those games against each other. If we add other not military genres, things get harder to select one. I couldn´t say for example Baldur´s gate or Knights of the Old Republic series,or the old graphic adventures from lucasarts aren´t greater than the best military sim as a game. -
If some localization team guys had their money for their work i would take it back. Terrible localization. Google translator could have made a better work. They don´t have any clue about military terms, they even don´t have any clue about standard PC game´s nomenclature. I am wondering if they even know standard spanish. Sometimes you just have to translate the translation and imagine what they are trying to say. Gramatical punchs everywhere, literal translations wich lose all mean, words that don´t even exist in spanish, invented acronyms... A pain in the ass Also there are no spanish voices, it wouldn´t matter if there was another kind of game, but it is really hard to keep with the bad translated dialogs and stay alert or combat in the campaign for example. At the top of all, for some reason, they dont translate strong language. If they dont know, shit means mierda, and fuck you jodete.
