Hold Fire means "don't fire first". If they get shot at they will ignore the order, which makes sense. I agree with the rest.

In the M1A2 if I put four crew in, one's always sticking out and I can't get him to turn in. Is that accurate or a bug? The AI always goes for the exposed gunner, which is pretty annoying in SP because nobody's allowed to die. I think in OFP and ArmA you could issue a stealth order and they'd turn off the lights. How do I make them turn it off in ArmA 2? Do lights even work or are they just for my amusement?

Finished the campaign. I've found that what the AI lacks on the ground, they make up for it in the air. -
Once AI surrenders they don't take up arms again, so you can just leave them.

Oh! that's in Manhattan? I thought you were talking about a different mission. I destroyed that base by calling artillery, then I rolled in with the APC I got from FOB Manhattan. Pretty straightforward. I was promised some backup, but it never arrived. -

Sorry but are you sure? I've delt with the Russians and allied with NAPA and I'm flying around there but can't find anything. In fact the NW part seems to be completely deserted. -

For me 1.00 and 1.01 were awful. 1.02 is much better. I don't know if that's because BIS improved the code or people upgraded their servers or learnt how to make lag-free missions, but I get hardly any lag with 1.02. There's still the slight hint of wraping in vehicles and large distances, but it's nothing compared to what it was. -
Can the AI see through grass? Some testing.

Yeah well, they can aim through grass while proned. The player can't. -

MP has become much worse with the international release. Even the people who want to play don't seem to know how and you get things like being flown across the map with auto-hover on. -
I get 'receiving...' for 2-3 seconds when closing the map. Is that intended?

Alright, so can servers prevent people from turning grass to 0?

The grass is pointless anyway since it only appears some twenty meters around you. It's deceptive because people think they're hidden because they're in grass, but I can see them plainly because my game isn't rendering grass where they are. The current scheme is unacceptable. -

ArmA 2 runs much better than ArmA 1. ArmA 1 engine Sahrani: 1km view distance, everything low-medium, FSAA=0 fps: 10-30 ArmA 2 engine Sahrani: 10km view distance, everything high, FSAA=2, fps: 30-60 -

select unit, press 4, find and select the vehicle, select gunner -
You can't transfer units to other squads in that mission. You can't create new squads at all as far as I can tell. The HC interface is very... sparse. I hope it gets some love in patches.

I don't know why, but resetting to defaults seemed to improve performance a lot.

The good old clock doesn't work. BIS either forgot to implement it or forgot to remove the option. -
Never let AI drive if you can avoid it. Follow this simple rule and you'll have a much nicer experience.

I don't remember any weapons caches in that mission. You can order squad members to pick up weapons from fallen enemies however.

I've been trying to find land and disembark commands as well, no luck. Hopefully the high command interface will be improved eventually.

You can turn that off in the difficulty settings, if I remember right. It's supposed to simulate human perhiperal vision or something. -

I don't understand why they don't just call it "256mb", "512mb", "1024mb" and "2048mb". Maybe it's for aesthetic reasons, but imagine how much confusion and how many crashes this could avoided.
