@Alduric you only have to release the source when you use the APL-SA content. Meaning that your A2MP is breaking the license right now, because you're using the terrain files + the buildings, etc. (The terrains, buildings, stuff like that are all under APL-SA) -
No, Vilas is right. While there has been some coverage of the Ukraine, the majority of the news right now is all about the Oscars, the murder trial, etc.

The thing is, GDSN, is that CUP has the idea of modernizing all the A2/OA content up to A3 standards, and then providing it all open source for any mod that wants to use it. Compared to people like Alduric, who are just doing basic A2 to A3 conversions, and who are against sharing of source files (even though in some cases that breaks the BI license). Nobody *has* to do anything, but some people are going the more... irritating route with the BI source files, compared to CUP. -
Scuttlebutt says it's the "Life" server guys. Got pissed at Fox because he doesn't host their stolen content nor post their news or allow them in the forums. Glad you got it back uo, Fox. Get some rest man. Your health and sanity trump our news/addon fix.

Zeus was done by 2 BI guys, and a handful of others helped *playtest* it, I'm assuming when not actively working on the game. They get to have fun too ya know. Also, this is a continuation of something one of those 2 devs had been working on for something like 7 years. C'mon man, get your facts before you start bitching about things. -
No, I mean literally it looks exactly like the community mod "RTE". I wasn't using "Real time editor" generically. It looks like they took the old RTE project and made it look pretty for A3.

From what I saw of the video, all this is is a modernized RTE, which only the ArmA 1 players here would really recognize, as it sort've died off. I wonder if it just went to BI.

*sigh* That's not amusing, or funny, or whatever the reason was behind your use of that. The only thing you accomplish by using the word autism negatively is making yourself look like an asshole, whether you have it or not. @Albus - Fantastic idea. What level of detail are you thinking? Something like google maps,where when you're zoomed out you see the strategic map that shows all of ArmAversum nations, but if you click on a nation it allows you to zoom down to the tactical/topographical level, for mission planning? -

Really? I mean, come on Gnat, I think you're giving too much credit here. Life mods stealing stuff, both from within the community and outside of it, has been happening for most of those 10 years. Going back to A1 at the least. These days it's all about DayZ communities and the evil ruskies and all the hush hush stuff going on behind closed doors in skype. :cool: I'd give it a 0.5, considered a 0.25 but I'm in a generous mood tonight. -

It's not strictly a server FPS issue. It can also be caused by you being desynced, or by a high ping. -
Interiors = usless unless the ship is a static object, otherwise when the ship moves you'll fall through the ship because BI only quarter-arsed the PhysX for the moment.

I left my team in hiding, ignored the extra team, placed the charges on the LZ, got the launcher, called him in while hiding across the road on the hill/prone in the bushes. He didn't see me when he was flying around, but he may have seen either the bodies to his east or the charges on the road below him, but he was at 10 feet or so alt. at that point and when I blew the charges his butt went up with them. :D (I still fired the AA for good measure) -
If you want to rearm your vehicle try parking the (the name escapes me at the moment) ?CRV?, the wreck repair version of the Namer next to your vehicle. It fully repairs it, and seems to fully rearm you as well.

Indeed. I've been looking very hard at the G36K for a project in the works, ended up going with the G3 instead (I think, anyways) but I spent a couple weeks or so digging around G36 variations. I merely suggested the rail from the C model because it appears to be the easiest option, and because it will end up fairly realistic when you compare it to the picture of the Latvian one off of the Wikipedia page. -

I'd just like to note that this community has been caught using stolen/copyrighted work, apparently from other games. Also, that there is no "Police Crown Victoria" release on ArmAholic, because Foxhound doesn't allow that type of thing to be hosted or given attention on his website. -

You do understand the differences in ArmA 2 and ArmA 3, right? These days if you're doing a vehicle addon it *has* to have PhysX, which is a *royal pain in the ass* to implement. If you want it to behave like it would in real life you apparently have to have an understanding of mechanics, etc. so it takes a whole hell of a lot more work right off the bat for vehicles. Infantry now have to have customizable uniforms (helmets, vests, packs), weapons have to work with rails, body armor has to be set up, etc. etc. etc. Then you have the things the community is starting to demand from addonmakers. Interactive cockpits, better armor systems, compatibility with every other addon in existence, so on and so forth. We only recently got the ArmA 3 tools. We are still lacking a whole hell of a lot in the modelling department but at least we have an O2 that works with A3. Terrains you won't see much of until BI releases Visitor, and once that's out it'll still be 3-12 months before those start flowing in fairly regularly. tl;dr - The standards have been raised, workload has increased dramatically, we're having to learn the new requirements pretty much from scratch and a lot of it's hit and miss, addonmaking takes a lot of time, and most importantly we only recently got the basic tools while still lacking things that could smooth the process. (Plus, on top of all this, you do realize that the tools BI gives us have almost no documentation whatsoever, right? There is no manual. The wiki is of note but still, no manual. You learn the tools by yourself and from community members) -

Indeed, as it is now works pretty well. I really wish we'd see some armed offroads, or some captured MRAPs, but it's not *too* bad a setup as is. -

If a clean cut of the current optic can be done, then I think it's just a matter of pulling the rail off of the G36C model, and setting it up right with the ArmA 3 attachments. -
Press backspace. Team, choose (not set) team white, and then you can give individual commands. However it's a pain in the ass to use in a firefight.
