    Most people say that the game is better optimized(better FPS) with the latest dev version. I read the changelog but I didn't find anything regarding optimization. So the question is if BIS works with optimization in every patch but won't tell us for some reason.

  3. I wonder what kind of impact better grapchics will have in game performance. I think priority right now is the better utilization of the game (at least for the community). Dont't get me wrong I agree with you guys that the images from the past are better than the current in-game. In any case it's good this subject is brought up.

    Unfortunately I believe it's too late for BIS to implement better utilization of CPUs. ALPHA is already out so I guess it's too late. I totally understand people complaining, but I don’t think it will make any difference now.
  8. Congratulations for the release. I tested your island and I was impressed to say the least. Great atmosphere and ofcourse amazing performance(I know it's a desert , but still). I hope you bring over this map and other islands to Arma 3 in the future. Congrats once again :)
  9. I don't think this is the solution. Raising the object details is not an option for people playing with low-mid end systems. Definitely not a hardware issue, Rumpii. This, I believe, should be solved by BIS.

  12. But running on high or very high, object detail, has a negative(huge) impact on FPS. The option to run with lower settings is there to be used by people. Experiencing LOD switching because of that shouldn't be an option. BIS should try to find a solution to make the product more popular and enjoyable.
  13. Actually it's the opposite. Object quality is CPU dependant and every single quality increase has an negative impact on FPS. I believe the solution should be given by BIS, so everybody can play and enjoy this wonderful game :)
  14. Hello, I'm not sure if somebody else brought it up before. The bug is noticable when playing with standard or low objects quality. Flickering appears while moving or running towards the objects. If you stand and look at them the flickering dissapears. - Object quality = Standard I notice flickering in Agia Marina and especially near the marina. I noticed that at most while walking or running towards the basketball court and the fence. Also some houses have the same behaviour. This is the place: - Object quality = High Now everything works fine without any flickering at the areas that I mentioned above. The impact of lower FPS is quite noticeable though. I know that many users are playing with standard details(higher FPS) and this might be a problem for them. I hope this is something that can be corrected in the near future.

    I have average 45 FPS playing the Helicopter Showcase. It's improved but the FPS can sometimes drop to 30-35 and that's when I experience lag.

    I would say that FPS changes are minimal but that the game is smoother now.

    I would also like to add night as a performance killer. FPS drops with at least 20 % when playing at night.

    Exactly, this is the most FPS demanding position on the whole island.
  19. Also try ton disable AA and Postprocess. The game still looks good :)- Finally, turn down VD=View distance to 1500 m or something like that.
  20. Shadows on high settings are GPU dependant. Shadows on low and medium are CPU dependant. Always put it on high or very high to get better performance.

  23. Dafydd your system will run the game medium-high settings without a problem. And expect the game to get optimized, which will make things run even better :)
