Hence the question of whether having more of simplified assets or less and better simulated ones. Same answer as before. I don't think it's possible atm but that would be ace! There's no need to be proficient in all classes. This would push ppl to train with what they're good at. Give me a plane or a chopper correctly simulated and you'll see what I mean.

Yes the stock product is very good. It just need to be a bit polished now. And it seems that's what we're getting with OA. According to the official videos we can now see that some efforts have been put in order to simulate some weapon systems better than before. I'm not an expert but the Javelin optic and the AH-64D HUD seem to be looking closer to their real counterparts now. I just hope that the same level of attention has been given to all weapon systems and optics this time ; ) Finally to make a long story short, I think I could definitely live without the bicycles ; ) Quality.

Dear Walker, I wouldn't consider turning down terrain details to low as cheating when you have an AI that uses as a tactic to go prone in grass in order to shoot you while you can't see them. If you go prone in grass you can't see jack and you wont be able to shoot at anything. It should be the same for the AI...anything else is cheating. -

I was really exited when I first saw the changelog for version 1.05...unfortunately I didn't noticed any changes regarding AI laser eyes in grass. It's still the exact same story. They spot you well before you can see them. Then they go prone in tall grass and literally snipe you.-> back to very low terrain detail. -

Hi, I just felt like coming here to see what you feel about the aiming system. Here's what I think: There's a kind of mouse lag or acceleration that makes really hard to acquire targets with the sights on. At the end I've found that it's easier to take down targets up to 100m without using ironsights or aimpoints... What do you think about that? Another thing I don't really get is why are we able to zoom without optics to simulate that we concentrate on a specific spot? Wouldn't it be more convenient to just have a fix zoom factor while using the sights? If it is to move the sight nearer to the operators head then only the sight should be zoomed not the whole world. -

I can't believe it's not possible to create a transparent low poly LOD over grass areas that actually blocks AI view. -

And no modders did actually work on it this time. Might see a sign that the community is not as enthusiast as it were used to be. -

Grass gives a real visual boost but being systematically shot by invisible AI laying prone in tall grass is not really fun. A fix is needed. -

Same here nvidia beta driver 191.03 finally solved that issue! Nevertheless the game still freezes sometimes during autosaves. Hope we'll soon get a fix for that issue as well. -

Yeah I've just realized it was actually the wrong place to ask... Thx for the tips I'll try that :) Something I don't get is why does this work perfectly when I use a unit and not when I use a static object? -
Well but as a matter of fact they do so already. And not only in this situation. That's good to hear that devs are aware of this. Now I hope they will actually be able to find a way to address these bugs correctly. Fingers crossed :rolleyes:

At the moment the game is very very bugged. Some users say they don't have any problems though. The fact is that there's way too many posts in the troubleshooting section...you should definitely take a look there. To say the true I don't know how they will fix all those bugs. I didn't played OFP1 and discovered the series with Arma1...but patch 1.08 was already out at that time. I heard it took one year to have Arma1 running fine. If I were you I would just wait few month until they release their new addon. By the time the campaign should be playable the number of CTD should be reduced to an acceptable level and the price will probably drop too ;-)
