  1. Drawing on the best community work, I've produced a pack to improve the already excellent DMA Army Pack unit replacement mod. The pack includes new weapons (most original BIS now replaced), new and improved sounds, realism enhancements, more variety in Resistance units, and some config tweaks and fixes. The emphasis here is on improving the infantry experience, while maintaining BIS balance and mission compatability. The pack includes configs for DMA Army Pack + ECP 1.085 and DMA Army Pack standalone. Hope someone finds it useful! AKD's DMA Army Pack Improved DMA Army Pack here. ECP here. S! -AKD

Just loaded up the 43-44 Soviet rifle squad in the editor and all the AI PPsh display as empty (no magazines in gun).

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

No one argued the fact that the EO and the ACOG are different. Author seemed to be comparing the Aimpoint and ACOG in his post (i.e. "more compact," etc.), but he was responding to a EOTech and Aimpoint comparison. We need to throw a few more in, just to really muddy the waters. One of IOR's CQB optics maybe? I liked it when rifles just had iron sights. Much simpler! Anyways, I like the "black rifle" look. Brings the RobArms XCR to mind.

Well, I rolled with an Aimpoint constantly in Iraq, and don't know who did that study, because the joker performed great in rooms and other sorts of tight places. Â And I've fired plenty of rounds at less than 25m (quick fire drills and the such) Â and never had an accuracy problem, so it's a matter of preference, and the Aimpoint is more compact too. Â Plus using the ACOG at 25m isn't recommended.. I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding, but the EOTech sight and ACOG sight are completely different.

These pics are super-dark man, but M4 sure looked nice.
  10. Well, the problem here is that "metallic reflections" are not really added to the models. There is no real specular effect as you would see on a truly reflective surface, but more of an enhanced shading and highlighting creating more contrast. That being said, it should be possible to reassign textures in the configure materials section of the config to get different effects. Or maybe you mean people who add artifical highlights to the textures themselves, creating areas of the weapon that are perpetually reflective regardless of the lighting situation (i.e. the pseudo photorealism approach). I agree that this does not look very good outside of screen shots.

What would you do with your model if you did not import it into O2?

    Couple of new addons

Shilka is quite capable of visually tracking and engaging targets. If it can see it, it can engage it. Also, if the target is visually acquired, I strongly suspect the radar can be focused on to the target to acquire a lock (JSF and other stealth aircraft are NOT invisible to radar). Sure there is: Igla and Shilka.

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

Ah, well, there is no real ACOG versus Aimpoint/EOTech debate, as the ACOG is a magnifying optic meant to increase accuracy over range, not a CQB optic. In flashpoint, having a magnifying optic is always better.

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

That's why I said in principle. The design and function of the EOTech optic is superior, but the reliability may not be rock solid yet (they are, nonetheless, very durable optics). However, Flashpoint does not simulate equipment failure, so that's really beside the point. Well, I'm happy for you and Aimpoint, but what I'm seeing is more and more professional operators using holographic sights. There are a number of features that speak in favor of the EOTech over the Aimpoint M2, but most important are probably the wider field of view, ease of use with NVGs, and the lack of a detectable light signature.

Hmm...then I would simply remove the stealth characteristics of the aircraft and give it somewhat more effective countermeasures to an attack. Truth is, the stealth characteristics of the JSF have no place in the OFP environment. A stealth aircraft seen by the eye is no longer a stealth aircraft. No practical difference between a JSF and an F-16 in the context of the sim.

SF and even some 'Big Army" units seem to be going the way of Eotech over the aimpoint, not to mention that more and more are showing up with law enforcement agencies. Eotech is the certainly the best reflex optic out there right now, at least in principle. I think Eotech would be a better choice for a Spec Ops rifle reflex sight as things stand currently. p.s. Nice Stryker Brigade pic with EOTech released today: pic

    Lack of Action

Because OFP has not been scripted so that something new and visually novel happens at every turn. You will note, however, that that something new and novel in Call of Duty II is only new and novel once.

    Couple of new addons

The "stealth" JSF has some abilities that are not really logical. The only difference between the two is the carriage of external stores, yet IR SAMs ignore the "stealth" JSF, even in when passing at low altitude in the middle of the day. The JSF does not have stealth abilities anywhere approaching this. It is just as visible and vulnerable to the naked eye as any other aircraft of a similar size. Nor is it invisible to IR, having only a "reduced" signature (how much reduced is, of course, impossible to say, but invisible would be wildly optimistic). And the aircraft still has a radar signature, even with stores carried in the weapons bay. Design is to maximize reduction of the radar signature from the front (ingressing) quarter, allowing the "shoot first" advantage.

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

It's actually not intended as desert camo, but as a neutral earth tone that camo for any environment can be built on. Even without additional camo, it is far better than black. Of course, given the current geopolitical situation, it's hard to think the desert had no influence.

    FN SCAR and SHRIKE 5.56

SCAR is far more interesting. Shrike is something for an action movie. Belt-fed weapons don't look so hot in OFP anyways.

Just tried the update. Nice, but something is wrong with the M2HB sound. Sounds like it is underwater and lots of popping and crackling.
