Ever played Ghost Recon games before the Advanced Warfighter series? Are you too annoyed with how Codemasters took the OFP name yet what they churned out is nothing like OFP? Apply the same thing to the Ghost Recon series at the moment, and you can see why people are annoyed. ;)

:D I had given it a try but had no idea what I was supposed to do or how my squad got ungrouped from me in the first mission, so I couldn't really continue. However, it's great to hear you're translating it!
-
Yup, not working outside the US is the biggest deal breaker. The US has a much smaller number of BIS fans, probably the smallest.

 It's a shame, really. Sounds like fun. I for one would be interested in an English translation for sure! :D

Well, the 1,000 member mark was reached on Steam, and I just got a notification about the event starting, so I think we're about to get something nice. :) -

Well, Black Element worked cooperatively with BIS to make Queen's Gambit so perhaps it was intentional. :p -
Nice video Burns. Looks very cool with the EW effects. Also - love the choice of music. Disturbed ftw! :D

I clicked the play button and each time it started to download the flv file. I just downloaded it eventually and played it with Adobe Media Player. -

It's forcing me to download the video rather than view it in that window for some reason. :butbut: Edit: Well, now I can watch it. The radio protocol is a lot better than ArmA or Arma 2. The voice acting in some places is... Funny, but for the most part it's ok. The background ambient, inaudible radio noises are pretty cool too. But one thing that really rocks - the new sound track. :D -
It is a hell of a lot of fun... When the server browser cooperates and actually puts you ingame. Guess consoles don't have to deal with that, though. :p

Keep in mind that, unfortunately, Xfire won't work with Arma 2 if you use the beta patches. This fix looks for the main exe. Of course, you could move the beta exe into the main folder and then it will work, but be sure to back up the original one! -

Mike_USA while I do like the pictures :p , that thread is for Arma 2 pictures only, not real life. -
I have a copy of PC Gamer US still which has a big full-page advert for OA on one of the first pages. ;)

True, but the speed is over-exaggerated to the point of ridiculousness in some cases. D:
-
Movement is exactly the same as BC2 apart from knifing. The reload animations look close to BC2's, but are much faster. In some cases unrealistically fast, same with switching between weapons. But hey, it suits the faster-paced gameplay.

Thirsk Campaign "Thirsk Autumn" (Unfinished)
Zipper5 replied to W0lle's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - USER MISSIONS
I might just have a look at this myself. Edit: Well, some of the missions throw up errors about Sgt.Ace's Everon. After looking at the mission.sqm files and removing the sap_everon entries, they load fine and I've gotten no further error messages. Here is a Filefront download with the fixes applied. -
That was awesome, Funkman! Never enjoyed watching an Arma 2 machinima so much! :D

Simply put Mage, if you don't like WIP stuff then don't download any user made content and don't play MP. This community has been built on user made content, and that includes helping each other with it and testing it. If you don't like that, then have fun with the vanilla game as it's not going to change any time soon. Stop whining about it on the forums. Mentioning your opinion once is enough, multiple times is just trolling.
-
No idea where that came from? But hey, do you think are going to get "Most Annoying Off-Again-On-Again Troll of the Community" award? Please don't put words in my mouth. ;)

Well, I've finally managed to play it today. First impressions - the interface is obviously taken straight from the console. When getting killstreak rewards, for example, it shows a d-pad for what you have to select. You also have the option to "adjust your TV display". Changing keybinds will more than likely crash the game, again probably because of the porting from consoles The ping measuring for servers is also messed up resulting in all servers reading 0ms, if you can even get servers to show up. The server browser is worse than it was in the BC2 beta. Thus, it's impossible to tell if the server you're joining will lag or not, which isn't great with the not-so-great-but-better-than-BC2 hit detection. The stats also have some issues being tracked, sometimes showing you did nothing the whole round. They are being stored, just not shown to you. However, it is a beta, and there are many things I do like about it. The guns are not overpowered and are quite balanced, there are no "perks", just weapon attachments. Explosives are nerfed so that you can't simply run around using a M203 the whole round, nor a RPG. The graphics look beautiful and run extremely smooth, just like BC2. The maps are small but well designed and are very fun too, as well as the two modes we have at our disposal. Overall I think it's decent for a beta. I could see this filling my need for an arcade shooter when it's released in October. I just hope that DICE definitely keep to their word so far about them changing the interface to a more PC-friendly one when the beta has progressed or, at the latest, when the game is released.

I think the point of such a form of mockery is for what you're saying to actually make sense. In that case, pravinrocks4u, you fail dramatically. :butbut:
-
Well, despite me having everything set up, I can't play because the site where you have to get the beta key from has been down all day. Beta releases ftw...
