Yep, the DVD disc is getting standard now, the CDs are of the past, though they are more popular than DVDs in USA. I don't know about the situation in UK, but here in Hungary, almost every game that needs more capacity than the CDs have are burned on DVDs. Besides, a DVD reader costs less than 10 pounds, and the installment of games is a lot more convenient.

I'm thinking about buying the game from Sprocket, but one small thing isn't clear. At "the important info" it says "No additional downloads". This means that I don't have to download the patches, right? Not that I can only download it once. Here's a link btw: sprocket - arma dl page

I have a 7600 GT but its no so cool for me...I have everything on normal, without shadow, AA, normal AF. In North Sahrani my FPS is mostly 25, but big foliage can drop it to 10. Otherwise it's usually about 38.

Can't you get a Go 7600 GT into it? The 7600 GT is better than the X1600, I'm sure about that, however it will still not run too well.

Choose the 7600 GT. There's no 128 MB 7600 GT, so something was miswritten. And also, a 7600 GS can't take advantage og 512 MB memory because it is only 128 bit. So 7600 GT is a lot better choice!

My specs: Celeron 2.4 Ghz CPU, 6600 GT AGP 8X, 1 Gb RAM, IS7 And the game is really jerky, especially in (intense) combat. For example I was playing battlefield match on Everon with 32 players, I had about 20 FPS all the time outside combat. In combat, I had about 8 FPS! What the heck is causing this low performance? The view distance is 900 m, terrain is very low, visuals are on medium and the frame rate is set to 20. Please if anyone knows what the problem is and how to resolve it, then reply.

Well I have 1 Gb ram/Pentium D 920/7600 GT and the game runs really bad.

I really like the game, but I am most disappointed with the performance!! I have 1 GB DDR1 400 Mhz, 7600 GT and Intel Pentium D 920 (2.8 Ghz) and the game still very slow. 13 FPS is average on maximum, and of course bringing down the IQ to very low barely helps...

Does anyone have a 7600 GT? I'd like to know how it performs, because I have that card too.

Well, you will be able to play it with everything on minimum. The same applies for my with my Celeron.

Seems pretty correct to me. I would give Arma a rating between 76 and 79. OMG why? I'd give it between 80-95.
