IF you are hoping that the player can fire while sprinting, it isn't going to happen in OFP, not ever. Operation Flashpoint and Armed Assault are military simulators, and designed to be as realistic as possible, while still being enjoyable for the player's perspective. Have you ever tried to aim an assault rifle while sprinting? It would be very dangerous to do this during a battle as you're just as likely to hit your team mates as the enemy. Also you said the rifle should be braced against the hip while running, the would cause the rifle to be knocked about while moving meaning you could put a bullet ion your leg. Armed Assault is designed to be a realistic game, and so, you will only be able to fire acurately with the rifle shouldered, we won't be firing from the hip like some "gangsta"

With my current computer ArmA would simply fry it  AMD Sempron 2400+ GeForce MX440  my FX got fried 512DDR RAM ad the one I'm on right now runs even slower even with it's 6600 FX and 3200+ Sempron... strange how package PCs run a lot slower than custom made ones isn't it..

Yes.. but you still have to download it mutiple times if anything goes wrong. I'd much rather have a single ISO file which I could bur to a DVD than all the random extension steam files...

I wonder who clicked i will buy arma because it usees Starforce But I will definately NOT be buying the game if it uses Starforce, so add my name to the petition Besides.. Starforce will be cracked eventually (if it hasn't been already) so why would BIS sacrifice so many customers for pointless copy protection.

The biggest problem I see with STeam is that you can't create a "hatd copy". An ISO format download would be much better because if you have to format your hard disc you would still have a DVD to re-install the game rather than having to download the whole thing again. ISO would also work for people without DVD writers as it can be mounted on a virtual drive.. although a backup disc will still not be possible for them, but it's still better than eliminating that disc from all customers that download the game.

I just hope that if they don't find a publisher in the UK we will be able to get the game via an FTP download which will provide us with a CD/DVD image file (.iso, .cue/bin etc) rather than steam style crap which is tied into a third party program. I'd much rather be able to burn my own disc and run the game from that than have it sitting on my hard drive inside steam or any other software. With the amount of re-installs I've had to do for Operation Flashpoint I'd hate to have it on the hard drive.. if the computer goes wrong you have to re-download the whole thing, whereas if the download is of an image file, and you have it burned to a DVD you just stick the disc back in and reinstall. Ofcourse.. a boxed version would be much better

If they are enterable, would be nice to add some falling debris to increase the feeling of being traped inside a collapsing building.

The units are lookinng VERY nice so far, but I have one small comment: the cloth pattern. I think It should be scaled down slightly and the opacity lowered, unless you change the pattern totally.

Resize in paint? BAD idea, grab Paitn Shop Pro if you don't have Photoshop

I made a new MP mission, Everon Fight, which is currently in beta stages. It's set on a fully occupied, Soviet Everon. Playable units are a 9 man squad of infantry and two pilots, with gear selection. The objectives are randomised, including a randomly placed convoy, five randomised "destroy this" objectives and a randomn town to capture. The mission is available at http://mclaurin.co.uk/vss in it's current state, and the final version, changing things like helo's and infantry numbers, and fixing the town triggers (only the le moule trigger works in the first version), should be available with in a week. Oh yeah... There are two versions of the mission, a BAS version using Littlerbirds, MH-60s, Rangers and JAM3 and a completely addon free version.

Yeah, TJ from BAS did that for me with Tonal and FDF when I was on a 56k.... ended up with the updated littlebirds months before BAS closed, let alone the actual release date of them

Guba was a traitor to the Russians, as the Soviet government was going through some severe changes, he wanted to start a war between America and the USSR which would stop any planned changes by the Soviets. Guba's force was in no way condoned by the USSR, so anyone working to defeat him would have been praised by the Russian government.

Public Beta Mission created by XCess VSS have recently opened a new website at http://mclaurin.co.uk/vss, and with that we are releasing our first multiplayer mission, Everon Fight. The mission is a full island dynamic coop based, quite obviously, on Everon. One squad of regular US infantry and two pilots are available to the players as they attempt to complete the three randomised objectives. The mission has no respawn to encourage teamwork and the value of the player's lives. We are planning an organised public beta to run at 1700GMT on Monday 4th of September, and will accept applications for this game on this forum. Only thing that reminded me of OFP was the Russian voices sounding sorta like Guba
