I would like to know: A: how do I add more pieces, if I add them myself in the editor they dont do anything. B: how can you change how many salvos they fire per call? sorry if these are dumb Q:s/

Im a little confused.. I set up a mission so that I could try out the artillary aspect of the game, only to find.. there is none.. If you set up a T72 500 meters from an AI m119 it will engauge it.. Â it takes several direct hits to kill it which is retarded but regardless.. it will shoot at it.. at 1000 meters the AI will engauge persons.. but not armor.. Â even with a direct line of sight. it wont in any circumstances (that I could create)do any kind of indirect fire.. Â so you cant call in a arty strike on a tank position or building etc etc from your arty guys at a firebase far away.. am I missing something? doing something wrong? or does it just flat out not work?

Also, Balschoiw's mods for it works.. but only in a very limited way.. still has to be line of sight and is still very distance limited.. in fact tanks will engauge targets farther away than the Arty will even with his mod..

I really thought I was doing something wrong.. So basically they just kinda.. decided not to implement one of, if not the most valuable weapons since modern war started.. artillary has been the "big stick" of an army since WW1 and in Arma it is now non existant??! thats insane.. equally as crazy as if they had not.. for example put in any machine guns, or Tanks, or .. the WHEEL! I love this game to death and enjoy playing it.. that being said, not having ANY form of indirect fire support modeled, be it mortars,artillary, MLRS.. ANYTHING!! is... RETARDED... considering all the last patch managed to do was.. lower FPS and piss everybody off, I doubt seeing the arty implemented any time soon is a pipe dream.

post processing rapes my system on 105, in 104 it didnt create any appreciable drop.. im seeing the wierd memory issue too.. but not in as sever of way as many... what do You make of this: I turn on fraps enter the game and start myself just outside of a large city, looking away... upon starting.. looking away from the city FPS are ~55 I turn and look at the city and they drop to 30 quickly.. but not below 30.. then I look back away again... back up to 55.. then I turn and look back again.. this time they drop to 25 for a sec or 2 then back up to 30.. I keep doing that and every time I look back at the city.. the system seems to get hit harder.. untill after 10 or so times my FPS is dipping as low as 20 before leveling back out at 30.. specs: 64 4000+ GF 7900GTO 2gb PC5000 RAM 5 mb PF on C:, 3000MB PF on D: onboard sound XP I generally run .. or should i say RAN it with everything on high or very high at 1024x768 at ~2008 view distance. now I run it with same view distance (less didnt make major difference) and at the same res, but have to have some things like terrain on normal and of course ost processing is on low or I get gangbanged..

im getting very bizarre results.. no matter what I set anything to fraps shows me at 30FPS.. 800x600 with everything on low gives me the same FPS as 1024x768 with everything on high.. the ONLY thing I get any change from is post processing.. which drops my FPS by 10.. regardless of other settings or anything else it always drops me to 20..

I was using a copy (illegal Ill admit) of 1.04 and after buying 1.05 I definatly see a performance hit. in 1.04 I was running at 1024x768 with all but Terrain set on very high and viewdistance set at 3200.. dont know my exact FPS but it was fluid when in large citys.. flying over them in a chopper etc etc.. with 1.05 with the same settings the game gets a little jerky if I fly over a big city very fast... open spaces, woods.. etc are still just fine. one thing that suprised me is that the first thing I did when it got jerky was lower my view distance from 3200 to 2000 which made NO difference.. which I find interesting in that.. I would think that means that the performance hit has nothing to do with polygon count.. but probably with textures or shadows... lowering the distance cuts out a lot of shapes but not alot of textures. I had to turn objects down to High and shadows to normal to get comparable smoothness to what I had with 1.04 specs: Athlon 64 4000+ 2GB OCZ PC5000 1 320GB SATA drive 1 120GB SATA drive (where partition is) Geforce 7900GT-O sundry other goodies.

well it finished and installed... but would not play untill I rebooted.. now it seems to be working fine.

anyone else encounter this? I purchased the game from Sprocket and got the DL manager etc etc and am DLING the game right now.. BUT.. now I keep getting the following on the sprocket downloader: it connects restarts.. gets a little farther.. then does this again over and over.. Im worried because.. according to the e-mail, I can only DL this once.. so what happens if I complete the DL and its corrupt? im screwed? Im not really asking anyone here to diagnose and explaint whats wrong (that would be a Q: for SPROCKET) But I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem.

I bought mine earlier today, got the e-mail and have been downloading.. then at about 76% i start getting.. THIS it does this, reconnects.. downloads 20 or so MB more.. does it again.. the download is progressing.. its at 82% now.. but I wont be at all suprised if it is currupt / otherwise wont work.

It seems to me most hardware related questions such as about video cards etc that are posted in OT.. which is the area they currentley fit best.. seem to get washed away and pushed onto the second page by all the political and other high traffic threads before anyone can realy see them... I think it would be nice to have a forum section dedicated to Hardware..

when i got on at my current job.. 2 of us were hired: ME: 3 years experence, degree, several certifications. Other Guy: 3 years in Navy.. as a cook.. he went to the navy because he flat out had nothing else he could do.. other than mcdonalds.. no college, bad grades in HS.. so we have a college grad with experence in the field, and a cook from a boat.. we both started at equal pay (its not the same anymore hehe) but just the fact that he got hired with NOTHING other than ex militray experence says something.

why do cops harass people who are not really doing anything wrong.. I.E. sitting in a parking lot talking to friends.. Yet they complain they are understaffed (locally) If they are so short handed why do they have time to sit and watch me talk to my GF in the parking lot at the mall for 30 miniutes? is this a valid use of police time?? thoughts?

well the whole reason we were in that aprking lot (the mall) was because my GF works at a restraunt there, I work for the cable company so i get up early.. i was just going to visit her at the end of her shift because i had to get to bed and didnt want her to have to drag her ass across town after working all night..

I did, and this place hasnt gotten any better so far as i can tell. anywho.. well i would hate to think there would actually be a REAL crime commited while officer so and so sat in a parking lot with one hand on his coke and another on his cock... ROFLOL!
