Will ArmA2 support multiple imput devices

copy that, my X52 does plug into one usb & my TrackIR another, so if my caculations are correct, that's multiple... so yes you can. I would asses that ARMA2 would be just as compatible, especially given that the new TrackIR5 was used on the media release version of ARMA2, you know that guy had loads of stuff connected. My personal experience with problems associated with controllers not functioning properly ingame is about 95% configuration. You must spend some time setting it up properly and eliminating duel key binds.

Will ArmA2 support multiple imput devices

I'm not understanding why you can't use multiple controllers with Arma1, I use a Saitek X52, dual joy sticks, with multiple configurations on both, I also use TrackIR, which all of this, if configured right, works perfect now. Unless I'm missing what you mean by multiple controllers....
  4. I bought mine off steam, but just asked a few of our guys & one stated the activation code was on their Account page at GamersGate.com, another said be believes he received an email ether with the code or a link to the code. Most likely, as with other type of download items, they email you the info with a link to the code on their site. Ether way, none of them have reported any problems in over a year of sending folks to their site to get a copy of the game. They also only offered the base game, while Steam & a few others, would only sell the package with Queens Gambit included, which made the price a bit higher. GamersGate sold the stand alone Arma1 right at $20.oo
  5. As stated a few days back, I sent GamersGate an email asking if they would be offering ARMA2 for download, this site has been very reliable over the last two years for up to date download versions of Arma1, here is the email I sent and their response; So it would appear that the hold up is not on the end of the eTailer, but on the front side with who ever that may be.
  6. Yea, I got the link lock & loaded just in case, but will hold on a few more days, I'm really looking & hope that a download option will be released, but this fall back plan gives me some sense of peace ether way.
  7. So wheres the address to the Aus site again??? If that is a solid deal for that price then sign me up...
  8. Well I would by from the down under guys, it's just I can't speak the language :D
  9. Way to plug away Foxhound, I totally enjoy your site my friend. Actually the reason you guys are first I believe, well the name starts with an "A" but more to the point, you guys were one of the first to put a "buy ARMA2" link to Amazon.co.uk on your Home Page. Which is why I check your site first before I search anywhere else, I figure you guys will have the latest intel, should things change & I know that you guys asked the BI folks directly about the US release at that London gig, thanks for being our voice out there.
  10. I just did a new google search, only done this about 100 times over the last few months, and put in "pre order ARMA 2", the top results are always the same with Armaholics & Amazon.co.uk, but now there is a new one in the list that I want you guys to take a look at, it appears that there are some sites that will ship to US, at least that what I get from it, you guys take a look and tell me what you think, http://www.gamestracker.com/buy-arma-2-compare-prices-pc.htm If these are legit, I may go ahead and pre-order from one of these sites. I say maybe because unlike Bloodofthedragon who stated he prefers a hard copy, I much prefer a download version of the game. Looking forward to your responses....
  11. I don't think their that naive, sure the US does have a large console market, but all they have to do, something I'm sure someone as BIS has done, is look at US sales for Arma1, that alone should be a gauge for them & also how it could have been better if the release efforts the first time around were handled differently. It's a business matter, regardless of what they feel or think, it's very financially wise to included the US market, as much as possible, in their promotion & release of this game, no matter how you slice it & that is what baffles so many ppl. Look at it this way, if you guys wanted to sell a product, regardless of what country you live in, & there was a huge demand for your product in the US, wouldn't you do all you could to make sure that target group had information, promotional advertisement & was a focus from you, that would make the potential buyers of said product all the more interested? Sure you would, because of the end result. I hope that Foxhound's intuition is correct & that we get some kind of announcement soon, so US buyer/players can breath a sigh of relief. Up till now, it's been a roller coaster ride that gives me the willies.
  12. You guys need to check out the latest intel, you can play as an animal for ultimate hunting mods, not sure if every animal is playable, but the recent 505 London event gave news that we could play as animals.
  13. The only one out of those that I have dealt with is GamersGate, which is one of the last carriers for Arma1, most of our ppl, who got into the game during the last year, bought a download copy from GamersGate at a low price. They have been reliably for this and we have pointed all new players to their site. To my knowledge, everyone we sent there, regardless of where the live in the world, has been able to buy a copy from them. I hope they offer ARMA2. I have very little dealing with D2D, only because of my FilePlanet account, no dealings with them in reference to Arma.
  14. I read the closed thread on ppl asking about a demo for ARMA2. I find it funny that ppl post stuff like, "they don't need to spend time on a demo" and comments along those lines, but they forget that a demo is already being used by all those gaming communities doing those movies, screenshots & reviews. There not just making this stuff up on their own, their using a demo of the game. My idea is that BI simply use that version as the official demo. According to one review by a Russian group, not sure which one, (read article) the demo they received had the following; "In beta we found 3 Scenarios, 2 training missions and 1 Story Line Campaign." That would be more than enough to satisfy ARMA2 fans till the release, that is of course if the media & reviews are finished with it. No need to toss it, give it to us, we'll put good use to it. :D Anyway, just throwing an idea out there, hopefully this is what they planned all along.
  15. Great post, wow if they would only grab this thing by the horns, it would be awesome! I want to ask this again, do BI personal read/visit/post on these forums or are they run by the fans, because it would appear that some very logical & decent ideas & comments go by the way side, with no official responses. I love the forums & site, my source flow atm, & it's a legitimate question because I truly don't know if BI personal read these forums.

    Idea for a Demo!

Demo confirmed, but no details given! At the 505 London press event, they were using Twitter, you can view it HERE and read the questions and answers (you see the answer first, then click the persons name to view the question) About half way down; Q. - http://twitter.com/JorgePT/status/1858570063 Regarding the demo, will it be before 505 games release, or the one for German and Czech Republic? A. - http://twitter.com/ArmA2PC # @JorgePT Demo will be released day and date for all markets, watch this space5:37 AM May 20th from web in reply to JorgePT He couldn't be more none specific in his answer, but he confirms a demo is on the way. Update, found this one a little way down; Q. - http://twitter.com/ChrisLamb33/status/1858509583 will there be a demo before release? A. - # @ChrisLamb33 We will hit GM (Gold Master) next week, plan is to release demo before launch5:19 AM May 20th from web in reply to ChrisLamb33
  17. Hoak, I appreciate your attention to detail, your posts/comments have provided more relevant & up to date news on this topic then any other sites I've visited. Let's hope that someone steps up soon to champion our cause. And the news link to Steam releasing only in the UK, only further makes me doubt that a US release will be at or near the other releases. I do believe that we can get a copy of the game, but it's the general US public/new first time gamers that will suffer, hence the game will suffer as well. Wow, that is not good. I still have hope, but the light is fading....
  18. So what does that mean anyway, "will handle all Public Relations efforts" You would think that given the time frame here so close to the release, that some kind of official news on the US release would have come by now! I don't understand. I hope the reports in this thread about download versions from IDEA & Steam are correct, I wish these sites would post something already to make it official, this really isn't good for business, I'm already having to make excuses to ppl who can't find info on where/how/when they can buy the game in the US, and we're talking lots of ppl from two different tournament gaming communities. This is killing their intent on getting the game, as we all know, gamers can be a funny bunch, you tick them off just right and they won't buy, just like what happened when Arma released, it was viewed as a UK game, only in the last year have we drawn enough interest to host an Arma Tournament community, now here we are again, after all the media & us telling everyone how good ARMA2 is going to be, we can't provide them with the very basic questions of will they be able to buy the game in the US without having to jump through hoops, pay high prices & go half way around the world. One other note, do BI ppl actually visit/read/post in these forums or are they run by a third party group of some kind, the reason is, you would think this question could be answered very quickly and easily by one of the BI reps.

    Idea for a Demo!

lol, rgr that MadDogX, I agree it's probably not going to happen, that's why this is only an idea. The reason I wouldn't mind having a copy of the media version to serve as a demo is because, & most of the ppl posting would agree, that a polished demo would take away time & focus from the work being done on the game itself, which we don't want to cause at this point. We all want the full game a.s.a.p. Plus I'm impatient, as you pointed out, which is true of most, if not all online gamers, we want it now, now, now! :D The funny part is all those who shoot down the idea of using the media version as a fan demo would download it in a second, just to get to play it. Then the nay say'ers would start the bug threads with complaints, which they would do with a polished demo of course, all the while the rest of us would be having a blast playing.:bounce3: In all honesty guys, I don't believe they will give us the media version as a demo, in fact, I don't believe they will give us a demo at all until very close to the release date or after, they've got way to much to do right now & that's fine with me, I also want the game to be ready on time & as many bugs worked out as possible. This was only an idea for discussion, one that I do believe would be kool if they choose to do it, I know I would download it and play - bugs included. Anyway, thanks for playing, see ya!

    Idea for a Demo!

Well, hold on there, stakex stated that "Its one thing to give a buggy/unfinished version to game sites to write early previews..." you mean, it's not buggy? Well in that case, lets use it for the demo to release to fans! I wise you guys would make up your minds, ether the media version was buggy & not worth downloading or it was good enough for all those gaming sites to give awesome reviews, thus, good enough for fans. This tossing back & forth is making me sea sick, lets just go back to my lead post, Idea - use media version as official demo, doesn't need any work done to it, won't take any time from BI Devs, has got plenty of content already.... sounds pretty good to me. :D

    Idea for a Demo!

Rgr that, good post stakex, you won me over, I can see your logic & agree. To be honest I didn't realize the media demo was so bugged filled, I didn't see that posted or commented on any of the game reviews so far, just got the impression that the media version was good enough for all those ppl writing reviews & checking out every detail of the game. Must be they held the bug comments back & only posted the good stuff. Well I for one am hoping that they release a demo regardless of how good it is because it looks that's all I'll get to play for a while seeing that no news on when a US release has been announced, hopefully I can download it from Steam or somewhere.

    Idea for a Demo!

Hand wringing aside, you are right about one thing, ppl will complain, good demo or bad demo, post's about an idea for a demo... ppl will complain. Oh, you can write it up any way you want, throw everyone in same bag and tell they won't be happy, I know that I would be, cuz I know me. I don't know what you would cuz I can't read your mind, but given you statements you would probably be right there will all the rest of the whiners, posting how bad this is & how buggy that is, while I would be off playing the demo.

    Idea for a Demo!

Yes, those are all great idea's, but lots of ppl would cry no! as it would take away valuable time from finishing the product to complete a "quality" demo, my idea to take the one that is already in existence (the media evaluation copy), which doesn't require any work at all, just someone from BI to give us a download link. :D My idea doesn't cost any time or effort, other than putting in a .zip or .rar file, and it's practical, no day dreaming required, just put out the demo you gave to the media, I will be happy with that BI, no need to jump through hoops for me, just hand out that copy, believe me all these guys will download it, don't let them fool ya!

    Arma 2 like Project Reality?

The thing to keep in mind about PR is that it's on an arcade engine, so no matter how much they try to make it realistic, the engine will only allow them so much room. It's fun for sure, but it appeals to a different style gamer than Arma. I play both in two different tournaments, those who play PR as their main game, enjoy playing Arma because of the step up in realism and ingame freedom. The Arma gamers who have played PR enjoy the arcade feel of the mod. It would be good to see mission makers build a cool mod that is a decent blend, one that utilizes the greatly expanded usage of the ARMA2 engine & incorporates the highly popular multiplayer aspects of PR. But here's the key to that being a success, it will take players who play both and understand both & know the differences and what makes each popular among online gamers, then you would have an awesome mod, one that would draw players from both arena's. Let me know when you guys get it done & I'll download it. :D
