I have no experience in this at all, so was hoping for a bit of guidance. I've got tools installed, and loaded up visitor, but fell at the first hurdle.. it's not exactly plug and play for the uninitiated! :) I can see the attraction of new buildings and desert landscape on chernarus, but I think I'd like to learn how to walk before I run.

We all see many adverts for clans that have rigid rank structures and play ultra realistic scenarios. This may be exactly what some people want. We believe, however, that there are lots of players who just want to have fun and relax playing games. TeamSPAFF take the view that gaming is about having fun and not taking things too seriously. If you have a relaxed attitude and want to play with a like minded group of players, get in touch. We usually play in the evenings (UK time) and occasionally meet up for LAN parties (next one this summer! We currently mainly play Armed Assault and SWAT4 and run our own Armed Assault and Teamspeak servers. Requirement for membership are; Must own and be familiar with at least one of the above games. Teamspeak must be installed and you must have a headset/microphone. Broadband or better internet connection. English Speaking We will not accept idiots who think teamkilling is funny or selfish players who don't support others. Post here or PM me if you are interested.

So the client crashes when you click multiplayer, before you even see a server list? Are these on the same machine?

PBO is the file container for Arma (and 2) stuff. You need to debpo the mission and it will make a mission folder full of all the stuff. Change what you want the pbo it up again. Job done. Easy! :P I can't remember whose PBO util I use, but a search around here will turn up lots. Armaedit does work with Arma 2 mission files. I was using it just yesterday. It's just a file editor that is specifically for these files.

My eBay sniping is considerably better than my Arma2 sniping, so I'm the proud winner of a used TIR4 with clip on eBay UK. :)

Armaedit is the best editor for game files. If you want to add vehicles for the start of the game, then yes, you can just drop them into the missions editor, but remember to copy the resulting mission.sqm file back into the mission dir and re pbo it. Vehicles created like this won't respawn in the same way the helos and MHQ's do though.

He put a gift down on the label because gifts are not subject to import duties. Here in the UK, the C&E guys who look after this sort of thing have got really hot in the last few years. Not much gets through any more, even if it is labelled as a gift or a sample. I suppose I have this choice. Take a gamble and get it from the US. Maybe cheaper, maybe not. Or get it here in the UK at a known price and with quicker delivery. Being able to zoom in just by leaning closer to the monitor. It made scanning with the Javelin much better. Helo door gunning likewise. It was SO natural. You wanted to see closer so you lean into the monitor and the view zooms in. Excellent!

I'm in the UK though and most of those sellers are in the US. If at all possible, I want to avoid the customs and excise man taking me roughly from behind.

Oh I see. I said V3, he said +2. Gotcha. But what exactly does 5 bring to the (specifically Arma2) party that 3 and 4 don't? edit. aha. Found this on NP's site http://www.naturalpoint.com/trackir/02-products/trackir-product-comparison.html 5 has better resolution then, but 4 is a lot cheaper.

Are you answering me? You mean any version above 2?

Which TrackIR set do I need for Arma2? I've seen youtube vids using TIR3. What does TIR5 give me that other versions don't?
