  1. It's actually not that hard once you figure it out. Handles a bit differently, but all in all it's like going from ArmA1 to ArmA2 flying. Edit: Though yeah the throttle could use some adjusting.
  2. I just use autotrim. I don't think my little 20 dollar joystick is made to handle it lol.

    Helicopter flight model from TakeOnHelis

Indeed, I've been playing around with it and enjoy it. Even the simple startup procedure in the preview would be enough for ArmA3 (not too hard for the whiny ones, and just enough extra to keep maverick wannabe noobs from flying till they've learned it)

    Will you buy ARMAIII?

*checks image* pheww, my hypocrisy remains unseen.

    An upgraded compass, finally?

lol no kidding. Everytime i break it out, the goddamn sun causes the thing to bloom to where you can't read it.

Very much likely, yes it is.

Buy it!? Heck, I'll have seconds, and then I'll wash it down with a cool glass of budweiser!

    J.S.R.S. 1.5

Ah very well then. Man I love the helo sounds btw. Had an AH-6 and a Chinook hover around me for a extended period of time yesterday in a server (not entirely sure what they were up to, I think they were trying to airlift a downed Hind) and they sounded great.

    J.S.R.S. 1.5

I'm just trying to figure out if i encountered a bug, because when I say soft, I mean it isn't loud at all, sounds like a gas operated t-shirt cannon.

    J.S.R.S. 1.5

Is it me or does the M2 sound "soft" now? Or should i look into reinstalling the pbo's again? Additionally the rest of the addon sounds AWESOME.

    Arma 3 engine

or a break glass command in the action menu (similar to some addons that allow you to push out broken windshields on vehicles)...or I don't know, make the glass break after so many shots depending on size of the pane vs size and type of round hitting it.

Thanks, you just reminded me of that scene from Hollow Man where you see Kevin Bacon's junk through a pair of thermal goggles. Now my day is ruined.

    Automatic Mod Downloading

The mod system is clumsy? Are we talking about the installation and organization of mods themselves, or the varying amounts of servers with different mods installed and having to sort out what mods they run against what you have? Because ArmA2 has by far one of the easiest mod installation and implementation methods i've dealt with. It's actually harder to acquire the mods than it is to run them. The thing ArmA needs most is an improved and working mod selection screen, preferably one that starts up before the game's exe actually runs, rather than the main menu, and an MP gui that gives more detail. Currently Yoma and Spirited Machine's launchers can give me more freedom searching out MP servers and the mods they run than the actual in game server screen. Anywho, if anything is to be done as the thread has been asking, it absolutely must be done right, or no one will use it when someone makes a 3rd party one that is much better. We could have a system where someone joins a server, lacks the mods necessary, and is prompted to d/l said missing files in a method similar to Yoma's, comparing and contrasting what is needed against what the user already has, and has an actual ETA of the files and time it'll take to d/l them, since mods can be rather big. I know this is what many have already described, but remember it needs to be done right. We need to be prompted to what files we are about to be downloading and whether we actually want to d/l them rather than literally "auto-download". Not doing so could lead to a lot of useless shit on your harddrive at the mercy of what ever the server is running, not always being what you'd want to have. I remember a similar system with old Half Life 1 games of course, however you were stuck not knowing when the downloads would be done, and the assholes in the server thought it would be funny to force a thousand sound files into the server that you do not want, and results in a 30 minute or more download time to get through them all if you are lucky.
  16. BIS already said it did not hint towards new destruction physics in the Post ARG QnA.

What do you think off the "future" setting

the ACOG style scope is an Elcan btw.

    Various Graphical Improvements

I'd like a heat shimmer effect in the game for vehicles, especially the helicopters and jets. Just not like in the trailer with the tank firing what ever it fired, but if in the end we get that, and the effect on vehicle exhaust an such....well the...i guess that's okay too.

Now that'd be interesting to come back to your vehicle to find the wheels half sunk into the terrain lol.

Yeah I wouldn't be so fast to assume any of the effects from the trailer are in game yet.

  24. lol, i'm so terribly sorry you had to put up with me.
  25. Not everyone has time in their life to join a clan. Some clans have requirements to be met that some people cannot fulfill. And some people just don't want to join a clan, but enjoys doing missions with them when they can. Last night in a server, I saw a good mix of half clan members, half pubbers, all doing excellent teamwork.
