Wow...BIS not only gets credit for my love life, but also for saving a life? Thats actually not funny. I hope your kidding. Losing people you care about to suicide leaves a wake of pain or those left behind. I really didn't want to stomp on the humor that was on a roll, but i have lost to many people in my life not to be affected by that post.

For OFP its not really a sacrafice as I have no desire to recapture the countless hours spent over the years. They were all (minus time waiting in the lobby) worth it. However its a different story for ArmA. For that I sacraficed $44.50 (well maybe not since the refund is supposedly being processed), and far too many hours trying to figure out why my download version didn't work. So for ArmA I sacrificed the little game time I have emailing, troubleshooting, and waiting for support replies. On an up note, I do have to thank BIS and OFP for the loss of a girlfriend. Not that its a bad thing. It turned out she was a psycho-hose-beast with real mental issues. If you want a further explination on how OFP caused me to see her "off-meds" then I should start a thread on "psycho girlfriend stories" ~! If she had not gone completely mental I would have never gone on to meet the one I would marry. Dose this mean I have to invite BIS to the wedding?

Need a Full version of game download please :)
Sc@tterbrain replied to Zasben's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Try looking in the Sprocket Troubleshooting Thread to see if your problem is the same as some of the others discussed. Not sure if their will be an answer as well, but I do remember that type of problem being discussed in the past. They usually took at at least a day or two before they got back to me (often longer). Â So I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. -
That may be. However it was not in my case. I was able to register the game initially, but when the Sprocket "fix" patch came out something went wrong. After installing the patch it would no longer let me re-register...somehow my ref# no longer existed to them. Anyway, refund is on the way...no more downloading for me. Disk in the hand seems safer.

Damn...really trying to win as I have already scouted my submission. Congrats for the score on that one as I had a hard time researching a cartoon... Comon SPQR we eagerly await your submission!

A success story! Â Woot! Â I know I know...coming from me its strange to hear. Â I have no love for Sprocket, but have a desire to see ArmedA succeed. Â I really hope that they either fix Sprocket or abandon it. Â This hit or miss is not "good for biness."

Ok I freaked too as I read the by-line. But did these people read the whole article before posting? It's not as if they didn't push the limit in the story. Maybe if I had not already been zinged, I would not have remembered what today was, and thus continued to twitch and bug out. Glad someone had already screwed with my head before I read it hehe.

Is GTA4 taking place in a real city? What's with the new "character?" Will be interested to see how this develops. As some have mentioned, the bar that was originally set by the franchise has been bumped up. I look forward to seeing what directions they go. Hopefully it will be more than new things to do with hookers.

Your reference # is also your activation #. However, the problem I was having was the number they were telling me to use didn't work. Hope you have better luck.

Bought my Sprocket Czech version in December, what a headache. Finnaly got my refund info in an email yesterday. What to do with my money now is a good question...

Are you suggesting that release date is too optimistic? ..."claims" seems to have undertones (intended or not) that you feel is not true. Hopefully I'm just reading into your comment too much.

I recently had to write a paper predicting the next regional war. Â The guidelines were simple. Â Each side had to have a standing army, thus excluding civil wars and internal tribal conflicts. After thinking it over for a while, the final result was quite different than my first ideas. Â The world is a big place, so don't limit your thinking to current conflict areas. Please describe your predicted scenario and timetable, THAT IS ALL. You must write from a completely neutral position, only stating the facts of your scenario. Please NO rebutle comments this is not a "political" discussion, just an exercise in examining the global climate.

I mentioned this on the thread a while back but I guess it bears repeating. Part of the copy protection is that it will need re-activation if your computer hardware makes "major" changes. I too would never have downloaded had I read this stuff before. That may have caused part of your problem when removing the sound card. For specifics read the FAQ and the Conditions of use.

regular-minor-riots eh? Sounds perfectly normal to me

Council for a Livable World? More political mud on a serious issue. Madman I will sign it if you can answer these three questions. 1. The petition says : "It is time to admit a tragic mistake and bring American soldiers home. Send a message to your member of Congress and urge them to vigorously oppose any military escalation in Iraq!" So your contention is that we remove ALL troops from Iraq and let them sort it out themselves? 2. When the slaughter of civillian Iraqi's increases in the security void we leave behind...then what? 3. Do you hold the belief that by leaving the Middle East alone the hatred for the West by many will be reduced?

I'm suprised by Europeans are so easy to dismiss the chances of turmoil within their countries. Look at France, they still have small civil disturbances and cars being burned almost every night. I have never been the parinoid type, but in America things are pushing ever closer to the edge. Just how far there is to go and if the people will actually put actions behind their words is yet to be seen. My point is the will of the people can only be dismissed for so long before someone dose something either constuctive or something dreadful. Add to that the probability of some sort of instigating factor. I don't lose sleep worring about it, but I won't be caught off guard when the sheet hits the fan.

Wow after all the things that have been said in this thread... Maybe there needs to be a separate thread for praise as most seem to have missed the point.

Great post ran. Â I must confess I merely threw this topic out there to read the thoughts of others. Â I hoped it would aid in assessing the possibilities. I had to accept the eventuality that it would degenerate to the silly, but I thank you for taking a moment to think. Your comment: "One should not just sit down and think about the things that could come but should stand up and act in such a way that only the best or at least better of these things happen." Well said. Â I guess this is not really the place for such an intense and serious discussion, but maybe more people like you will suprise me. If you would like to direct the discussion from pure conjecture and on to something along the lines of your statement, by all means.

Try reading the post before you write your reply. A. Your opinion on my personal views means nothing to me. B. Sprocket/IDEA games is directly connected to the developer, ie BIS. BIS offered then attempted to help with Sprocket problems then left people hanging. C. The problems are not "here or there." There was a major snafu and customers are still not receiving the service/product they paid for. One example that is currently being addressed. D. My issue is not with the GAME. It is the fact that I cannot use the software, and they are knowingly putting people in the same situation. Its nice that you all wish to make excuses and rush to defend. Yet its pathetic that YOU are the PR department. Before you fling your attacks and make uninformed statements, try understanding the issue that you are so fortunate to not have to deal with. read here or here

Wow this thread truly is the plague to BIS. Nobody seems to want to bother helping. Anyway, this may help some of you that DL'ed it recently. I'm still hosed tho Alter games sprocket help thread
-
With the intent of getting results for those of us that are stuck with the game and want to get it fixed, please: State your specific issue and include relevant information for diagnosis and trouble shooting recomendations. I know we are pissed, I'm king-pissed-off, but my money is spent and I intend to get results. My specific issue: After installing the "Sprocket" fix patch, I was prompted to enter my refernece #. Â It dose not say that I have no activations left, it says that it dose not recognize my ref#. Softwrap resent my ref# so I could make sure I was entering it correctly, which I was. Â The email reply from BIS was that my ref# was something different. Â That one didn't work either. I tried reinstalling but that didn't help. Ok now what?

Sc@tterbrain replied to Gianteric's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hey Wolle, I'm glad to see you helping people with Sprocket issues get things resolved. Think maybe you can pop into the Sprocket trouble shooting thread and work your magic? I'm serious, there are alot of people there that need help. Unfortunately the thread seems to be avioded like the plague.
