    Dolphin Slaughter... Disturbing

This gets to the point. Â As humans we hold ourselves ABOVE "lesser" beings. Â We are still unperfect animals. Â We are still omnivores. Â But there is something to refraining from being cruel. Cruelty is still quite common among our species. Â Most notably when it is inflicted upon other humans. When I found a young bird whose mother was dead and nursed it until it could fly, I felt pride in the moment of its release. I felt more than a mere animal as it flew away to continue an unknown future. Â I did something of minimal importance and impact on the world, because I could. The strengths and weaknesses of humanity in the end balance out. Â It is the ability to overcome our flaws on an individual basis that gives me the slightest hope for mankind.

    Dolphin Slaughter... Disturbing

An odd reoccurring theme in a few of these responses. Â While I am not one for self hate, I have a hard time not hoping for the same. While the humanity of such an event is disturbing, the concept of a global mental and physical ... correction... seems necessary if not inevitable. If not by humans, then "mom's gonna fix it and put it back the way it otta-be..."

    Dolphin Slaughter... Disturbing

I am a meat eater. Â I feel little remorse for the cow or chicken that I consume, even though I know thier death may not have come by gentle means. Its peculiar how we humans pick and choose the animals we feal remorse for, often based on their perceived cuteness. Â It is also strange how we project human emotions onto other species and generate sympathy based on that. That being said...that video was truly disturbing. Â If that same video had taken place with tuna instead of dolphins my emotions would likely not have been so strong. Â Why the images of the slaughter of dolphins invokes such a strong response in me I cannot adaquately explain or justify. Â Perhaps it was the calous nature of their deaths. Â Maybe it is that they simply are more "human like" than other sea creatures. What I know is that I am not a PETA supporter or a tree hugger. Â I also know that the video envokes feelings of pain and sadness. Â And it makes me wonder how another is devoid of such a response. Â Perhaps it is just a matter of conditioning. More questions that I will likely never receive an adaquate answer too... PS: Balschoiw is correct on one point. Western societies in large part eat far more meat then they need to. Most people eat at least 2X the ammount required for their needs. 6-8 oz is far smaller than most realize. Anyway...

    European Politics Thread.

I have never been a big fan of France. Now it seems they may actually remove themselves from the "bag-on" list by becoming a respected nation. Sure it's yet to be seen but at least they are trying. ....yes I realize some will be "offended" by this comment. To bad. You probably get offended by Fraggle Rock. The point is, I now respect France! Sure not all are happy with the new leader. But the fact remains that the people were at least open to the possibility that the government was headed in the wrong direction! Now i can only hope for that in my own country...

Thats a good find. Makes me wonder if they were able to do that scene for scene by someones memory. Regardless it shows the delightful humor generated by boredom.

Its actually a No. 6304. Mitsubishi A6M3 Type 0 Model 32. The common nickname "Zero" applied to all A6M Type 0's. You can't really tell from this angle but this one is actually a model 32, the type that initally received the codename "Hamp" because the Allies thought it was a new design. With its clipped wings, this version of the "Zeke" was renamed the "Zeke 32." But I'm sure other than intel geeks, everyone just called it a Zero. Your go Rocko!

    Retail Store Availability?

I don't see why Steam is such a bad word. Â Sure, I hated at first that you had to have it running. Â But after 4 games and NO hassles I think BIS should hve considered it for distribution. Using Steam: ..hmm a new update...bingo!...everyone has it. Â I think I'll buy 3 more games through this service. Using Sprocket: Â Hmm there is a Sprocket "fix" patch I had to search for ont he forums...hmm when I suggested there was a problem with sprocket everyone bit my head off...oh well. Â Hmm, now my f ' ing game is broken. Â I think I'll bitch for the next 4 months until i finally get my refund.

    Sprocket Troubleshooting thread.

I have a way to fix it all! Don't use Sprocket! Buy the CD/DVD version. No more worries...no more problems. If you already have...well then get a refund or call it a wash and head to the store. Worked for me!

    Retail Store Availability?

I hear you about Gamestop/EB, I worked for the console loving a-holes. That's why I know about their distribution. I also used the Sprocket service and took it like a sheep for 4 months until I became enough of a pain to get a refund. So there is no way I'm using a DL service, especially with this 2 activations BS! As much as it pains me I reserved my copy at one of the evil stores listed above because they are most likely to have it first, and because I'm going with the DVD that I can install whenever, and where ever the $#% I feel like it!

    Retail Store Availability?

Gamestop and EB (same company actually) mall type stores will ship copies to fill reservations. Â The May 1st date is either wrong or only is for a DL version. Â Retail release date is the 8th, so it will arrive that day or the following I guess. Â If you ask about a release date, make sure you say Armed Assault: Combat Operations. Â Otherwise the console geek employee typing with two fingers will have a hard time doing the search and won't find it. Also, if you REALLY want it ASAP. Â Go ahead and reserve several copies and just buy one when it arrives. Â By reserving more, it increase the chances of getting it sooner. Meaning they will do a separate shipment of just that game if there are enough orders, rather then putting it in with normal mixed inventory shipments. As far as Bestbuy, thats typical for them. Â They rarely get even big titles on release day, and they don't do reservations. Â If you plan on ordering from someplace like Amazon, plan on getting it maybe several days after release. Â It has to get to them before they can mail it to you.

It is Dragon Skin. Â I should have just said it in my first post, but it seemed too obvious. Â Then I remembered seeing that image somewhere. Â The image is taken from the show Futureweapons on the Discovery Channel. The image shows the armor durring the production process and can be seen about 2 mins and 45 seconds into this video. Dragon Skin as seen on Future Weapons By the time I actually found the vid Sputnik had beat me to the punch. Â Your turn Monroe. Â

    Australian ArmA Review

For me that translates to: 9/10 in terms of a Realistic Military Simulation Game 6/10 in terms of a FPS "run and gun" game made for a mass (dumber) audience. I can live with that

    Armed Assault year?

I think early 2000's is what was meant. Gear is pretty much acurate to that, other than the use of the Vulcan, which has not been used for quite some time.

    Military Humor

The vid gave me such a chuckle, I sent that link off to a few people. It was interesting that even those with no military or weapons experience had the same thought as those that do. "...Oh s@*t.. RUN!"
