At when can we expect the release of com. preview? -
It shouldn't be a problem to add it imho. :)

That ArmA 3 'Mi-48 Caiman' or just simply 'Hamok' helicopter should be replaced with this futuristic Hind helicopter. Why? Because it's just freaking awesome! I saw it from the Temnyy mir movie. You can spot it from 1:33 in this . Do you think that the BIS could get the model of this Hind if they asked the authors of movie?

Hehe yeah, I still remember it. And sorry for bumping, just wanted to post my old video from SAR4: CH :D tkXfwL4FSFA

USEC Bell 206B (Civilian Helicopter)
smuky replied to rocket's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I love this little chopper! I can agree that's very quality addon for ArmA2/OA, but it needs some little fixes, like the setting landcontact points a little lower because the skids are sinking into the floor and the positions of the pilot and passengers from first-person view are way too low - they're also sinked in their seats. You should remove 2 blades from main rotor spinning animation, too. And I have one little personal request: Can you make a version without doors? For a PMC operations or chase-on-one-man missions or something alike. Because the Jet Ranger without doors looks simply awesome. http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/photos/7/3/8/1419837.jpg Now say that isn't true. :D -

Grats on 3rd child! That's nice WIP. I see that's the tail is still leveled with a cockpit and I'd suggest that you should tilt it with whole cargo fuselage. P.S.:When I wrote about the tilted fuselage I mentioned that the exact blueprints are hard to find. Well, actually it turned out that I found them not long time ago. ;) I hope the work will be a lot easier from now. If not, like as wolfbite said, just take your time and sleep the thing. -

Did anybody noticed the PMC Ka-60 Kasatka from the outside view doesn't have windows above the cockpit, but from the first person view is a little different story? -

Mil Mi-24A Krokodil
smuky replied to pathetic_berserker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
They wanted to make a very fast and stabile combat helicopter. From the wikipedia: Where they start with "The main rotor was tilted", should be "fuselage" instead of main rotor or "fuselage with main rotor" -
Mil Mi-24A Krokodil
smuky replied to pathetic_berserker's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Pathetic_Berserker, sorry for interruption, bust I must warn you - I hope you're not making symetrical Mi-24A, because they aren't. All these drawing, like this (of new Mi-24V and others) are wrong. Because the exact drawings are hard to find, i'm adding the picture of Mi-24V from DCS: Black Shark, where is quite detailed, or you can check one of hinds from ArmA 2 in the front. BIS was attentive for details on Mi-24, too. The exact drawings especially for Mi-24A are hard to find too, so that's why I'm using the picture - this is front picture of Mi-24A. The angle of photo isn't perfect, but for my explanation is good. I drew the lines of fuselage for easy imagination. The whole fuselage, with rotor and tail except of cockpit is tilted into right (starboard of aircraft). It's tilted for aerodynamic reasons to counteract the effect of the tail rotor. The cockpit of all A and "bubbled-cockpit" hinds is actually the only one thing which is correctly parallel to the ground. I only want the good for you, and above of all, I still can't wait for Mi-24A version in ArmA2. Nothing can be perfect. :) Just when I saw the WiP pictures, I just couldn't helped myself for not warning you about that and I hope I didn't insulted you. -
Now I'm little embarassed. :) BTW: If nobody didn't figured out or spotted Ice's tribute to the BIS yet, take a look on this: :D

In the main menu, when it's the cinematics of UAV's camera lasering the random vehicles, which are in the next destroyed with GBU, you can switch between black, white FLIR modes and nightvision with hitting the N key, and you can zoom in and out the camera with mouse wheel :) And if you're lucky you will even see the hit of bomb in slow-motion ;)

ArmA 2 Buglist - Content related bugs only
smuky replied to Red_153D's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Hello ... I've spotted some nasty bugs with Mi-24P Hind and i have a question about AH-1Z rotor. I'll post them into here. Hope you can read my writings and understand them. If they already been posted, please don't blame me for that  There's other one thing which bothers me. While I fly UH-1Y, i enjoy when i watch how main rotor responses on my movements. When I turn into right, it also bends into right, same is with other ways. But AH-1Z's rotor is always static. And I don't like that. It doesn't responses on my movements, and sometimes I have feeling the AH-1Z was just imported from ArmA1 and rewarded with Sidewinder rockets. Also when AH-1Z lies on floor, it's rotor isn't bended down like as a UH-1Y's rotor. Greets, SmukY -
There is a photo of today's suspect, Ramon Vidal, here he is: Kalimar, Hitcher, zorilya, of course you can join. Kalimar: Today we're not going to use ECS nor SLX. Zoriyla: Hope that helps. What do you think, from which plane or helo is that cockpit? Osprey maybe?
-
i wonder that myself, too
-
Yes, it goes, but only if you descent from 1000m ... And hind can cruise 300km/h without descenting. With full armament and without cargo. And no, soldiers aren't fat bastards, just hind has only one bench. If you want 8 troops in the hind, you should solve this problem with adding the second bench: like this (Made in MS Paint): Just a suggestion.
-
I've spotted this very nasty bug: And as far I know the Mi-24 can carry 8 fully armed people in cargo bay and pilot and gunner in the cockpit ... But hind's really good for beta version. I hope in the full version the max speed will be 300 km/h if 330 km/h isn't possible these loaded weapons on Hind.

I'd be very happy if someone could make some BLUFOR helicopter pilots with closed helmet visors and helmets in white color, like this. You just can't say he isn't looking good And yes, vanilla helicopter pilots in Arma are too lame for me. No offence, BI
