There will almost certainly be controlable chutes after the tools are released. Expect fully controlable HALO and HAHO chutes shortly after.

http://files.filefront.com/DSA_Models_V1rar/;5343251;;/fileinfo.html loads here i think... http://nana.gamer.co.il/gamer2....hLight= If you read the readme inside the rar on that first link it says There are LOADS of weapons in that pack. Including SA80.

Nice work sassy mate. Was Al Simmons saying that DSA had an SA80 you could use or just look at?

Partly destroyable buildings
Shins replied to Espectro (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
You can actually see this at some of the Docks on Sahrani. Where there are large shipping crates stack on top of each other you can destroy lower ones (trying running into them with a tank) and the ones on top of them stay afloat. Still, I'd rather have that than non-destructable scenery altogether. At least Arma's buildings /can/ be destroyed, even if only in one go. You don't see that in many games. -
Camera to follow a rocket
Shins replied to stingfish74's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
works fine. There seems to be a bug tho, the first rockect fired sets a camera somewhere in the sea, Rockets fired after that work fine. -
Custom face in COOP Missions
Shins replied to 10-78 Duke's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/setFace Think that'll work in arma, sure someone'll correct me if I'm wrong just replace the "face10" bit with the name of the facetexture.paa you're using in the mission. No idea if that'll work, not tried it but it's somewhere for you to start eh -
Out of all the really really great addons there were for OFP you know what I'd really like to see? NIM Weather. I could spend hours flying through those clouds man and doing a HALO through them on CAT's Afghan island with 5k viewdistance... SWEET. Like this and this So bring back NIM weather!

Really exciting stuff there. Love the idea of dynamic eco-systems and dynamic interaction with scenery. I'll be keeping an eye on this mod very closely.

perhaps an animated crew on deck with refuel truck and bombs or something? I don't know how it works in real life but i think having to go below decks to rearm/refuel misses an opportunity to have some nice ground crew scurrying around your aircraft as you wait to get back in the fight

To the best of my (limited) understanding you get mesh transforms for free on the gpu meaning any deformation of the mesh (which is how the trees etc appear to sway, they're just deformed slightly) doesn't cost anything. So no fps boost for non-swaying foliage I'm afraid.

You releasing these as they are as a beta or waiting until you've perfected them? (i think they rock as-is )

You'll probably get a performance boost if you don't have AA enabled by force in the video card settings. Better if you only use the in game AA settings.

@Dohtar ArmA does have full vector expansion. You can zoom in by leaning forward and lean left and right around corners by tilting your head. Hopefully I'll be posting another video demonstrating those aspects soon. It is an expensive bit of kit for the limited number of games that support it, but if I know OFP fans (and I count myself among that group) then you'll be playing ArmA a whole lot more than any other game (I do, and I write about games for a living ). With that in mind the actual use you get out of a TrackIR relative to the hours you play OFP (or rather ArmA) it's actually good value for money. Buy one! They're ace!

OK got shoot up and running with OFP. Results are fantastic! You can even give little-used orders like "two, move fifty metres West" and "Watch Direction south East" stuff like that. You can be laying down some fire on an area and spot an enemy off to one side then bark a target order out to a squadmember without letting up on your own firing. Great find Only one problem so far, works fine to start with, but after a while of playing there appears to be a delay in the spoken orders and the in-game response. Dunno if that's a faliure of my hardware rather than Shoot though. Anyone else experiencing this?
