Now that I got my latest project released, how about some Vietnam multiplayer, anyone up for a mission or more? -
I wanted to get proper overview of BIS terrains so off I went to do BIS Terrain Analysis. Not sure if this any use here, but I hope someone finds this reference useful. Check PMC Editing Wiki: BIS Terrain Analysis pages. Enjoy.

No. You can't use ca namespace, its BIS namespace. Make your own and use that. -

I have absolutely no idea... but would this fit into the category of "pilot proxy into o2 buldozer" thing or is it different? Actually now that I think of it, proxys are just triangles with the name of the rtm, is that right? Umm dunno, just taking wild guesses here. Put make a proxy in O2, name it same as your rtm which could be like f16pilot.p3d/rtm then. Try using that? Sorry I have no idea :) -

Nogova as other OFP BIS islands were all 256 x 256 cells with 50 meter cell size. -

Your campaign pbo mission directories include all the commonly used scripts which could be placed in campaign scripts directory. There was also many instances of revive PDF manual in the mission dirs. When you have sorted out these two issues, you'll be amazed how much smaller the pbo gets.

Great to hear that :) Did you get to use Six-Updater to download the latest, or had a problems with the system? I might but out stable version so we can all click one http link to download it and enjoy some MP without have to worry if I run latest build or not. Is there any interest for some MP gaming? ;) -

Well what I've seen from google earth and the one sole picture found on the net (which now has been taken offline, I do have it on my hdd of course), that sketchup model dont resemble the hotel at all. Tourism? You haven't followed the news much have you :) There is daily mortar attacks and government forces are fighting against the al shaheeba (spelling) islamist insurgents. Mogadishu is the last place where I'd want to visit now. BTW here is photo from the Philadelphia Inquirer http://inquirer.philly.com/packages/somalia/tobia/photo2.asp Says on the text: "The Bakara Market Place with all kinds of activity with the Olympic Hotel in background.", but as you said, there is no balconies in Olympic hotel, so that image (regardless that you see ONE story, ONE corner hehe) is again not the real one. I went and uploaded few images from my research library: Olympic Hotel and target building And some apparently real sketch of target building by Somali informant Not sure if that sketch is real.

Umm define "a lot like" ;) As said, I drive to keep this mod realistic and not based on some Hollywood movie footage from Cairo (or where ever they filmed it). The hardest part now for long time has been to find solid info on the 1993 era buildings, specifically Olympic hotel and the target building. Do you know the length it was? My google earth scale tool references say its 30m length and 15m "wide". edit: (so I follow forum rules, no double posts). That was the one error I made early on my research: banadir.com/images/global_hotel.jpg Heh ;) To me its quite strange that battle of this magnitude and there is no photos of the target building. But then again, westerners cant really walk up to the building and take photos and Somali's themselves don't have many digi cameras & internets :)

Someone mentioned (somewhere) earlier that there were 6. In any case, SEALs were there and we will model them in the mod now. So far nobody has mentioned them and I haven't come across in my research on them in the scale that it would raise eyebrows. Good to know they were there, thank you for the info. This is not about any movie, this is about realism. We will not take reference information from that movie. Sorry about lacking information on the first post, I have now updated it with small FAQ bit about this. Sad thing is, those three pics are the only thing we have to go for. I'm very happy to receive more and better details about them, text or pics, all is good. That sounds OK to me, but not in the near future, we have pretty much all the stuff planned now and we'll stick with that. After that is completed and mod is stable / enjoyable in multiplayer, then we can add additional stuff which enhances game play. Anything would be very much appreciated, if a piece of information or picture can help us make this mod more realistic, we want it, bad :) Hey, someone who was actually there, great. Could you please tell me few things about the city, building wise. For example of course the most important question; did you ever see with your own eyes the "target building" or Olympic hotel? I have spend literally DAYS googling around internet and I have not found a single picture (besides google earth satellite one) of target building. There is one claiming to be it but it clearly is Olympic hotel. If you have seen target building / Olympic hotel, then all information what ever you can remember would be extremely useful. If you have pics, then I'll probably faint :o Thanks guys for the feedback, keep it coming.

horror1 sorry I never used the revive scripts, I was instructed how to fix it and as far as I recall it was done. Do you have example mission for ArmA 2 version of VTE which I could try out in our server to be 100% sure about this issue and once for all put it to rest? -

No other downloads, its on Six-Updater only. The revive script bug has fixed already in one of the hot fixes. -

Download the preview, run ArmA 2 OA v1.52, click multiplayer with "pmc" filter and there is no more waiting :) That mission on the screenshot is still running on the server while I'm writing this post. -
We have one reference problem, the SEALs. Would anyone have any references, photos, even pieces of information of what camo/gear SEALs used in 1993? If not, what would be the "educated guess" of what to use for them?

I just downloaded the v1.81 lite (isladuala_v181_lite.7z) and it still includes Berghoff African foliage pbo's (39.5mb) which you can download on any news sites. Just wanted to let other users know what to expect on download.

You should leave out the Berghoff african foliage pbo from the release packet as its readily available from big news sites and as you have not edited them, there is no need to include them in the release. Just list it as required addons and it will be fine. Also it would be nice to have separate "soldiers & vehicles" download and terrain as stand alone. However this is not related to Berghoff foliage point at all.

Also its very important to save them as <FILENAME>_co.paa or <FILENAME>_nohq.paa etc so texview2 will use the proper format. Many times you see addons with "MyGun.paa" style textures which is not the correct way to use/save them.

Wrptool doesn't accept jpg converted to paa textures

This is Visitor forum area, you should post into the official WrpTool forum in PMC Tactical forum. I don't think you can use Texview2 to create textures for WrpTool. Use Texview instead.
