    problems with my squad image...

    i dont see a logo.paa on your web server, if this is a IIS (windows) web server then you need to add paa file extension to IIS allowed files as it does not have paa if it is let me know and i'll post the fix, past that it may just be the file that is missing

    How to create a great server?

    even the simple maps that ICARMA uses for thier league may push over 2Mbit with over 60 ppl but there are times they do 100-150 players the best bet for is just XP and some sort of c2d like a e6300-8500 since you line is limited even the a low end e6300+ will work for you, 2GB of RAM will be fine I would not push his line's 2MBit cap as he will notice it, just set it to 32 players and hope it does not go past 1.5 mbit cuase it usually does a home line even at 2mbit will Lag players as not every one will have a clean straight jump to it compared to a Server based in Data centers I would bet you'll have issues past 16 players, ArmA is not like CS, it needs power like nothing else on the market

    I can say with out a doubt there are ALLOT of poorly scripted client side addons that do nothing but cause server crashes, what makes it worse is the way ppl mix these addons, it really does drive me nutz, ArmA should only load addons the server is using, this would also get rid of some of the client side cheats win win

    there is also server setup that may be an issue and settings, also there are some bad maps floating around, we found a good one and stuck it on most of our servers

    Updating Server to V1.14

    I have a server patch file I use for all our servers your glad to use it but its 120 megs to upload and is effertless, if thier FTPs are like ours you wont be able to upload the exe let me know via pm or email incase i dont re read this thread

    Patch 1.14 Troubleshooting

    both patches have little in common start downloading i dont even think you can play any but the simple maps with dial up online tho, I've watch our servers out put upto 150kbs per player on some maps and 4.2 kb wont work

    1.12 to 1.14

    I have 1 load with 1.08 and QG and it says corrupt install any one know if QG updates were released with this, the other installs went fine but did not have QB installed I'll try at home and post my findings

    you may not have full access to where arma places the default files (just a guess) try changing your command like start to "?:\INSTAL FOLDER\arma.exe" -nosplash -cfg=arma.cfg -profiles=Profiles this places your profiles into the same ArmA folder as well as the arma.cfg

    1.12 DBE1 error driving me insane.

    to solve similar issues on our server for clients with QB who also revert back to 1.08 (our servers allow you to switch from 1.12 to 1.08 at will) we had to place the patch addons from 1.12 inside beta/addon if you place them where they belong addons DBE1/addons the 1.08 server fails like this, this is not the same error but there is also a hierarchal issue, these addons are fixes so should be loaded last, it works like this Addons folders are loaded A-Z Mods are loaded in the order of your command line so we run -mod=DBE1;beta this what the hotfixes are loaded last like they should be and avoid 1.08 QB was designed poorly, they should never have over written stock folders as it now gives you altered addons when you run some other guys mod that alters these same addons note these addons are in the downloaded 1.12 patch and are not installed (as far as i can tell) you will find them in the RAR under AddOns DBE1/Addons hope it helps
  13. I've seen some added connection lag with JIP and I noticed when you are driving a tank with AI CO and gunner they wont stop targeting planes/choppers and almost never attack Enemy AI troppers near them when theres a Enemy plane with in a click or two

    IE7 has XML security issues that prevent the XML being used, a quick fix is to uninstall it and the server will use them again there's another IE security patch that should be removed that stablize ArmA, I lost the thread but i think suma or some other GURU posted it but it was about ram contolling i think there may be some way to change IE7 settings to get the same results but have not had the time to look at it also you posted the arma.cfg for banwidth, you need to post your server.cfg as well you could also remove MaxCustomFileSize=100255; and try that

    ArmA ToW beat that long ago from what i remember any one with a decent server can do 150 and have crap FPS IC ArmA is talking about actually playing for hours on end

    that is a P35 chipset I dont see us mentioning RAM population issues, its what the motherboards can supply for voltages from the board, almost any PC8500 will work upto 8GB for overclocking MSI boards are low end, would never touch em

    huh? it will drop in FPS like any server, but at the same time will handle AI better I do know that IC ArmA is trying to break thier 123 man record from last week they had a Q6600@2.9 with that and ran for 3 hours happy as all can be now this week end they have moved a QX9650@3.5 and plan for MASSIVE amount of player Im sure mojo will brag about it, he wants to break some records

    they are PC8500 CPUZ reports dual channel so x2 you get the speed and nothing ever over PC6400 is listed every one is bitching about that, just a CPUZ bug almost no mother boards out there can do proper voltate for 4GB overclocked so every one running them have set them down to stablize the voltage so now the servers are very stable, they push thos CPUs to 4Ghz but with 2GB ram

    thats tyan MB which costs waaaaaay to much slow ECC memory, no over clock and I dont see how a RAM Drive will help you as the servers run in almost every thing in RAM and CPU as it is the down side gets worse, in 6 months or a year you'll be locked into that motherboard and worsen you upgradeablity I know it will have 8 cores but really 4 are better for 100Mbit nics (8 ArmA servers would kill it) I dont think any single clan needs more then a Dual core, but quads are just as cheap also ECC ram is awesome for WEB servers but is way to costly dont throw your money away you're spending too much for a lower end server it's only plus side is the capacity it may handle, but by the time you fill it up it will be out dated dont buy it

  23. Add -vm108 to the command line for the server and see it that doesn't fix the issue - 1.11 has that mem management tweak that seems to be broken I had time to test this this morning it still commits 500MB of ram per server but it looks like when the server is crashes the 500MB is in use still

Memory Loss On our servers we have seen massive amounts of RAM lost with the new patch a basic 1.08/9 server will start at 30MB and run threw the day at 700MB on no limitations now with 1.11 we see the commined 500MB and the 30MB start up, if you shut the server down all 500MB is returned for use but now there are some issues while a server us running and reaches 700MB it still has this 500MB allocated so now the server needs on average 1200MB this is allot, and I would like to know why its not using this commited 500MB now when the ArmA server crashes it apears this 500MB is lost and the server restarts and uses yet another 500MB

    BattlEye problems

    From all our testing and our 30+ ArmA client servers we found that BE is not causing any memory leaks, other then minor player connection problems it seems to be ok
