Arma 3: Community wishes & ideas- NO DISCUSSION

Attachable Weapon lights for handguns. Bring back the M4/M16 family of weapons. -
I dont think we really need adjustable sights as much as we need the sights adjusted accurate use the MilDot system. I would like to see them add a feature that keeps the Grenade-launcher ladder down until you select the GL. I dont know how possible this is, but I think it would be great if they could add the Aimpoint 3xMag Scope that can be put on and pulled off at any given time to augment the Aimpoint. Â I am not a fan of ACOG. EoTech sight would be neat, but I hear there is a mod coming out for it.

Yeah looks like some good improvements. I have alot of faith in BIS to not be like 99% of the market where nothing gets fixed after 1-2 patches. Kudos! Now for 1.08: I REALLY REALLY hope this fixes my 8800s CTDs,etc that is my biggest concern right now is actually be able to play the game for more than 15mins.

I appreciate the fact that you read thru the posts and made a summary. I think as long as you keep the summary objective, without emotional attachment, and up-to-date it will be quite beneficial to BIS IMHO. Keep up the good work Jambo.

I have read thru about 7 pages of this thread and most people have covered what I am disappointed by. 1. Performance. I dont have a top of the line machine, but close (2GB RAM, 8800GTS, etc) and the game runs like poo. I can run some real system hogging games with no issue, but not ARMA. I figure this will be fixed. Lot of pple screaming for Dual Core support, but I dont think it is fully possible at this point in development, but it would be nice. 2. Friendly AI: Too dumb and not as accurate as Enemy. 3. Enemy AI: Pretty dumb, superstrong as they can fire AK without recoil it seems (sniping full auto AK). I would like to see them more affected by incoming fire (ie running for cover, dropping prone to crawl to cover, mebbe a few indecisives, etc). I would like to see them act as humanly as possible. Other games do it so it should be easy for BIS. 4. Content: So few guns. Some may not think so, but heres what I would like to see even if its limited to multiplayer. - 1911 MEUSOC or equiv, M11 (Sig P238), and HK Mark23 for US. - HK pistol for the US Friendly Faction that uses lots of HKs. - There has to be a better pistol for SLA than the Mak. MEbbe a CZ75 or something. This is a start. Mainly its about performance for me, all else can wait. Polygon spikes, Texture bugs/loss, and CTDs are just silly while using a machine that meets and exceeds requirements. Thanks.

Basically, At first the game ran fine.  Cannot remember if I had 100.65 drivers and what settings I was using. I had the polygon issue, texture issue, and now CTDs.  Figuring the best thing to do is eliminate the 8800 hardware as a problem so I used my replacement plan at CompUSA and got me a brand-spanking new 8800. So things seem a bit better, but after a few hours I still get the Texture bug (although not as bad) and polygon spikes to which I use the FLUSH command and everyting is good for a few minutes.  The major problem now is CTDs.  Ill play about 20-30mins and poof... game stops responding and I have to use Task Manager to close program.  I cannot figure it out.  I am using Vista and I am wondering if ArmA is compatible with Vista at all.  Heres my system specs: Intel Core2Duo E6300 2GB Corsair DDR2-800 640MB 8800GTS on 158.18 drivers Asus p532n  nforce 650i Vista Ultimate. Game Settings (tried at 1600x1200 and 1280x1024): Everything on Normal, Blood high Everything on High VD= 2500 to 3500 Both setting profiles have the same result. Seriously considering making this a XP machine or at the very least dual boot. Any ideas?

Okay now I know it is not a GPU hardware issue. I exchanged my 8800 today, still same issues. Less of a texture problem, more of the polygonal spiking and CTDs.

I had everthing at max. and i have to say no don´t have those probs not on XP and not on Vista 32bit. Have you tried 158.18 for Vista? Or have you had a look at your GPU Temps. while playing? Maybe your card is overheating. greets Pretty sure I am not overheating as no alarms are going off. Was on 158.18, but switched to 158.43 once the problems began as many suggested. Maybe I will try to switch back. I still think its the game.

I am pretty upset as well, but from the looks of it, BIS will fix the issue. I have faith in them for now. I could play the game fine for the first week, a few days after that I encountered the texture issue and some artifacting, now I am getting CTDs. I play all sorts of more graphically demanding games with no issues. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Are you kidding you can´t tell me you are playing at those video settings. To have a smooth gameplay at those Settings you have to wait 2 or 3 years for better hardware. It is the same with ArmA as it was with OFP all Settings at max is meant to be played 5 years later. With my last System and the 7800gtx i wasn´t able to get good FPS in OFP at max Settings.... Now i got nearly the same System like yours and to have a smooth gamplay in ArmA without bigger glitches i play at viewdistances between 2000-3500m depends on AF,AA,Shader settings... So i would say you should turn down your settings a little bit and you will have more fun with playing the game. 10K VD and everything maxed out is good for taking screenshots but nothing more. greets I will tell you that I was running with those settings (actually VD was set to around 6k at first) with no issue for the first week. But now, everything set to normal, res at 1280x1024, VD down to 3k, still get the artifact problems and texture bug while running beta 1.07 with hotfix. ALL my other games work fine: FSX at 1600 with medium to high settings, NWN same res with everything on high, etc. So yes surprisingly my PC handles these res's with decent settings, except in ArmA.

Yeah I had to pick mine up at Best Try as well as no one else physically has it. BTW, Best Try's online pickup sux. I got there about 30mins after receiving the email that it was ready. They still had to go to the floor to get it. I waited about 10-15mins when I coulda went to the shelf, taken it to the register, checked out and been in my car in about 5mins. I do not recommend the service. -
When I first installed the US version of the game about a week ago now I had zero issues.  None of the texture problems etc.  Only had an issue with NVGs not coming up everytime but eventually they did, so no worries. I started up the game last night and POOF! I started having texture issues.  Tried the arma.cfg remedy with setting HDR to 16, etc.  Didnt help.  Updated nVidia drivers to 158,43... didnt help. Updated to 1.07b... didnt help.  I updated to the latest build 1.07 fix... didn't help.  It makes no sense that it would work the first few days then go all kaputt all the sudden.  I even tried reinstalling the game to no avail. Occasionally the game will load textures on some things, but flicker and die on others.  I dont get it. I run the demo.. everything is fine.  No issues whatsoever.  Runs flawlessly, looks great.  What gives?!? System specs: Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Asus 650i Motherboard using onboard sound 2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR800 320GB Seagate SATAII HDD BFG 8800GTS 640mb  158,43 drivers Windows Vista 32-bit updated Antec 900 series case  (very cold case) Game Settings: Video 1600x1200 res very high 10k VD ( tried lower same issue)
