The USSR aka Soviet Union was an ancient empire.... some neuron must have failed to transmit informations about history. BTT close this thread its pointless and more like a sensational outburst.
  2. Kroky have you an "all missions must/should have ACE compatibility" agenda going on or why can't you figure out that its up to everyone own preference to use what he likes? Btw actually I see 33 people (~44%) voted for #1 and 22 people (~29%) for #2 and 19 people (~25%) for #3. Maybe something is up with the forum or you need to visit a doctor?
  3. The AI was flying the Su-34 on their own against a group of tanks (AI) and I was just watching it - testing it again and again. The AI Su-25 did a bit better job with the CH29 but got gunned down by the machineguns* so I guess its also about how fast the AI moves/fly and can lock + fire at targets from certain distance. *I can't imagine that a gunner/loader of an MBT/IFV/APC, light "car vehicle" in real life is able to shoot down an aircraft like the AI in A2OA. Nothing much against "spray and prey" against air targets but BIS needs to sort this precise shooting and killing AI "feature" out - maybe limit it to AA/AAA vehicles and comparable static weapons.
  4. Is it possible to get/test that default AI will use + fire guided missiles/bombs from greater distance and not going into suicidal dive-attack/low pass maneuver? Maybe include that the AI will fire a "life-saving" burst of flares if they are close to enemy vehicles? Btw machineguns shouldn't be used/fired from within vehicles unless its an remote controlled weapon system... and who does make the funny stuff that AI should fire with their tank canon on fast flying aircrafts? Observerd "AI using tank gun against fast flying aircrafts" as an Su-34 was flying away with high speed.... c'mon leave 'AI using tank canon' only to low + slow or hovering flying aircrafts. :D Another AI issue occured with Su-34 they seem to have big troubles to hit anything with Ch29 - all missiles are flying over their targets. Guess AI flight fsm needs some 'config' adjustements too... Cross fingers that in A3 we will see some improved AI and effective use of weapons and flight maneuver.

Guess Jerry had a just cup of coffee and absolutly NOTHING more to do.... who would have even thought that someday BIS or any other game dev will try/test something out? Now waiting for the next new A3 thread with a title like "OMG - BIS got A3 running we should get it naow!!!"

    Will You Use the Cross-hairs?

Annoying screen clutter/HUD elements are annoying and it doesn't take that long to figure out where bullets land/hit. As backup option many rifles can be fired on 'auto' - even at close range. Userfriendly mp browser with visible details (icons/text) about current server/gameplay setup should be in A3 from the start. :)

Help figuring out where to mark on map.

You just need to mentally divide the grid square in tenths, estimate the distance from the grid line to the point in the same order (Right and Up). Or you can use an addon that shows you higher digit map/square coordinates.

    ARMA 3 OPFOR Discussion Thread

A little devil from BIS said that this time the OPFOR will be more badass.... just hope that Blufor and OPFOR still got some unique own features aka surprises up in their sleves. You don't go into war without some trump cards/assets. ;)

    Positive Feedback Thread

Biggest motivation for BIS would be to release a game that works smooth in SP and MP from the release day. People do have some patience to get things fixed but their "standby" or "betatest" time isn't infinite. Guess many potential customers will wait a certain time to be sure that BIS made a game they can enjoy without bigger bugs and issues. No need for overambitious and pre-emptive praising or bad-mouthing. Wait until A3 is released and see yourself if you like it or not. Just don't trust blindly all those ratings and game experts points/statistics! :)

Arma 3: Confirmed features | info & discussion

Well my bet of A3 release is still somewhere summer/fall 2013 - don't think that BIS + publishers are going to try to compete to put A3 in X-Mas sales and with "bigger/mainstream" titles and their release anyway. Cross fingers that this time the game runs smooth with enjoyable sp/mp missions out of the box for most people.... Now back to the recent picture showing two A3 tanks - can someone find a cute but diabolical rabbit in there - these creatures caused a lot of chaos and crashing in A2OA. Guess no one from BIS never ever played/tested A2OA long enough to enjoy what these funny bunny's are really doing! Can't wait to hear the message: "Sir, there are some splendid troubles on the roads of Altis - our support won't reach within schedule and probably never ever get over here. Our old long-eared in lovely fur dressed little friends appeared here on this new awesome island too.... s.s..some tea Sir?" :D
  12. Seems if you don't have any ACR DLC (full/light) there will be error messages about a pistol (?). What could be improved is to take away all handguns from AI (silly to see an AI sniper can't switch back to his sniper rifle), add all of the german KSK soldiers and perhaps some friendly/enemy patrol boats if the player is close to the open sea. Could be nice if there is an option for no random civil units/vehicles and animals - just military vehicles in guarded base/depots/airfields ("dirty" old OFP style). :)

Last newspic show: two A3 tanks fighting each other with their main weapon. Maybe a hint about excessive cuts in the A3 military - read: there is no ammo - improvise! Or is BIS going to implement micropayment for each shell, bullet, "whatsoever" - just something what mainstream/"F2P" players got used to do. ;)

Just curious if there will be something like a "no voice" radio switch/option for AI in multiplayer? Or will the AI be able "to collect + update contact reports silently" and inform the player when he want to hear these infos from AI?? Imo for SP it can be much more authentic to call names - depending on how many AI teammates the player has to care for. With bigger teams/squads its imo better to call them just by their leaders names or group specification + customisable callsign (MG team Bravo, AT team Yellow, sapper team One4All, support team Hotfixers etc).
  15. Maybe some people just do a little search about how many drones crashed or were lost in recent conflicts/wars? How reliable are those mini drones in real world and combat conditions today? Or is it just that some people take the advertisments/marketing of the industry a bit too serious and trying to make some sensational news/articles and forum discussions about?

Don't forget to leave "Where are you?" and "Can't get there!" in A3 and maybe re-introduce the "Uuuwwhhhhhh my leg!!" painful A2 cry.... if only just for some nostalgic lulz. :D
  17. froggyluv do you really think BI staff will use their secondary cars for office day? :D
  18. ACE2 focus is on mp and extending there the feeling of playing A2OA a little bit more "realistic". Imo mission makers shouldn't be forced to make their mission work with any non-required mod/addon. It's their spare time, mission idea/setup and fumbling around with A2OA's ups and downs.... :)
  19. Can those minidrones fly through a storm or heavy rain or operate in the jungle? Yes there are and will be experiments with autonomous systems but most of them are still operated by a human pilot/controller. Just assuming that drones can do now or soon the job of soldiers is a bit of a stretch from those highly creative "military media analysts". Drones are and will be used as tools but won't replace soldiers or make them obsolete. Guess sooner or later there will be something that can counter these tools in one way or another. Keep in mind the "stealth" term was very popular too and many media experts were also very sure about that "stealth" will make all the other non-stealthy things obsolete.... ;)

Qazdar you better start using the "Kipling Method": Of course any conspiracy is free to believe and some "creative" people do make (or try to make) profit with. But hey maybe we are living just in a alternate world and there are other parallel worlds and realities? We just can't get there without loosing ourselves in time and space! Or should we use "The Boozer" thread to get things sorted out ... hmmm... Irish Whisky vs Scottish vs 'merican vs Wodka vs Schnaps - guess we have to try them all and find the best solution for all of the worlds crisis!! Lets get quick there before Slatts is drinking all the stuff there leaving us with Moderating Sparkling Waters here alone.... :D
  24. Observed that AI Ghillie snipers too don't swap back from their handgun/PDW - "best solution" is still to take/drop everything away from AI like handguns, PDW's and binoculars, rangefinders or laserdesignators. Other things like smoke/flare grenades, IR/VIP strobe and smoke handgrenades are still useless waste of space in AI's gear. Would be much better if all A2OA soldiers (and perhaps A3?) would have at least 2 handgrenades by default.... seems that BIS devs didn't spend much time on testing and implementing 'what works with AI and what not'. Assigning targets to AI gunner went a bit fubar too... What about beeing able to assign + lock targets through commanders view (preferable with somekind of voice/visual feedback) ?? Oh and please make it so that the AI can only shoot from inside a vehicle with a remote weapon system station - kinda silly if they can turn and use weapons that one can only use if turned out. Btw AI aiming at and attacking aircrafts during ground combat isn't soooo splendid-awesome either.... let's keep them primarily focused on ground combat unless they have some serious AA capabilities. :)

Oh look this leftwing NWO website again with its highly polemic + conspiracist views. Didn't they also reproduced Gaddafi's propaganda and painted him as a paragon of a modern leader? Sure within the next days or weeks the Bilderberg group and Majestic12 are going to rule over the world.... just saying
