patch 1.02 install problem

Here's what I did ... click ignore to everything, launch ArmA II and wonder why the patch has been applied successful. I tried for 5 hours everything to get this thing running. Now I did it the way I mentioned it and it seemed to work. There are no errors ingame and in the ArmA2.rpt so the game "shouldn't" be corrupt. But I can't give a guarantee. -
1.02 patch install problem in W7

I've having the same problems .. the first time in my life. I never experienced anything like that in my OPF and ArmA time before. I'm using Win XP 32 Bit, I did a clean install from 1.00, cleaned my registry, deleted all folders. MD5 hash checks were ok. No PBO file is damaged although the installer has a different opinion. -

It's very good to hear that BI ArmA 1 content will be back in ArmA II someday :) That way I can reuse and update up to 70 missions for ArmA II yeehaaa :D -

Nope, Youtube is disabling my audio layers. ;) Do you really want a movie without sound? I don't think so. On Youtube you'll also have to slit each video into 10 min. parts. That would be awfull too for such a huge movie. -

Not really ... I'm setting those camps up via game logic. Additional units could be spawned around this game logic using it as a relative position. Maybe there's an additional parameter to including some soldiers, I don't know. Because it's not possible. In the editor you can place only single objects, not object compositions. -

Well now I'm really horny :yay: Do you know how many hours I've spend in ArmA I placing camps? :eek: BIS, I could kiss you for this feature! :D It'll save many many hours that I can spend into developing my missions now instead of designing them from scratch all over again. -

You really don't wanna have such a low quality ;) Even if I reduce resolution to 320x200 the file would be bigger. I tried several codecs and choose the one that fits quality & size. -

Use 7-Zip for extracting. http://www.7-zip.org/ Be sure to mark all 3 three files before extracting. Extract them to the same folder. If one archive is damaged, redownload it or use the torrent distribution. -

Youtube is disabling my audio layer ;) I don't want this to be so I'll have to check out something else. Torrent would mean I have to leave my PC active when I go to work. Sorry, can't do that. Too expensive for the energy costs. If Foxhound or anybody wants to do a torrent distribution he is free to do so. -

Try: [] execVM "briefing.sqf" Make your the briefing.sqf is saved with UTF-8 code (check your text editor for the settings). And if nothing works, just leave it in the initJIPCompatible.sqf for the time being. -
Revive Script

The array was empty and players didn't have the standard weapons. I removed every weapon via removeAllWeapons this; and set them up with silenced weapons. It's the mission Utes Invasion I where they noticed this. I wasn't there at the moment. -

There's only one way to find out. Someone has to create a re-config addon that shows the different camouflage settings in action, maybe with some extreme values. -

That's why it is the duty of the arma player to change the position after some shots! Watch this video and you will notice how "stealthy" regrouping can be. Y6mI410K_ZU Stealth isn't only the visual aspect, it's more than that. Stealth is patience, stealth is silence, stealth is "fooling the enemy" ... But I have to admit, a config value for stealth values would be nice. I found a camouflage value in the ArmA I configs, but I don't think it ever worked. -

I have noticed that it is very depending from the AI skill level if a player is spotted fast. Check out "Utes Invasion I" - there's AI at night and the player with SD ammo. Set the AI skill to "rookie" (which means 0.1 ingame) and the AI comes close to you so can kiss them :p Try it on veteran again and you'll be dead. It's quite clever handled I think. If you can spot a ghilie sniper during the combat you'll have to be a > 0.6 skill player :D
