    German Misc Pack released

    Hmmm I'm getting error messages while using the BW Mod package 1.3 of yours. BW Mod 1.7 is being loaded. My RPT showed this: Warning Message: Cannot load material file kpfs_bw\bh\bh_officer_wound1.rvmat. Cannot load material file kpfs_bw\bh\bh_officer_wound1.rvmat Warning Message: Cannot load material file kpfs_bw\bh\bh_officer_wound2.rvmat. Cannot load material file kpfs_bw\bh\bh_officer_wound2.rvmat Am I missing another file?
  2. Before anyone even dares to ask ... I will need more time than I thought, basicly because I'm almost never home. :) I didn't quit this addon. In the past few weeks I was 3 times in Belgium, 2 times in France, 1 time Germany and 3 times in the Netherlands working 40 - 60 hours per week :p By the way ... in the Netherlands there're the most beautiful girls I've ever seen :D My compliments for that. I guess I can continue work in early december 2010 but not earlier. Maybe I don't even do a separate release but an all-in-one (but with separate configs) GLT Mod release on Christmas ... who knows

  4. I've got an issue while porting the Domination 2 version 2.11 over to Celle. Right now everything is working so far having German Army (BW Mod) vs. NAPA. However the side missions aren't working and for weeks I couldn't figure out why. I've checked the mission on the dedicated server, no success so far. I've checked it in the editor - I know, the mission needs the dedicated server for playing, but at least the side mission marker should appear in non-dedicated-server environments. I've changed every coordinate so the new side missions should work right away. I didn't create new side mission files, but changed the existing ones (coordinates, classnames, mission texts). No paths have been changed. Can someone help me please to spot the error? Which variable do I have to check? Which file do I have to check? Which part of the code do you need to have a look into it? So far, the RPT file only shows this error: Error in expression <target'] call XNetCallEvent;d_kb_logic1 kbTell [d_kb_logic2,d_kb_topic_side,'Att> Error position: <kbTell [d_kb_logic2,d_kb_topic_side,'Att> Error kbtell: Typ Bool, erwartet Objekt but I don't know if it is related to this problem. Thanks in advance for any hint. :)

    Ah my bad ... I already fixed it for myself. :) Shame on me, but it will be released in the GLT Mod as soon as I got the time to on something again. ETA weeks/months

    I'm sorry to hear from your illness. I wish you the best things one person can get and press my thumbs that everything will go well for you. Regarding this mod I think you already know my opinion :p It's great, the best mod package I've seen so far for A2. By the way, have you watched my 140 A1 movie The Crate 2? I've used a lot of Project RACS stuff there and of course gave you a credit :p

  9. Not neccessarily true! It's about shooting but if it means taking 30 minutes until everyone is in position for a clean strike without casualties before event X takes place I call that very very far from a simple shooter. Just take Counter-Strike as a complete opposite example. A few hours ago I had a good coop game; fleeing from an island having lots of russian patrols around. It took us almost an hour until we got half the way to the target zone, always deciding if to shoot or not, checking for enemies in all directions. It wasn't boring although we had not many kills. So it's not about shooting in general that can attract the player. I guess it's the fear in combat situations that's everyone looking for. The feat of getting hunted not beeing able to defend itself while trying to get in a better combat situation (by looking for better cover, better weapons, vehicles, support, ...) during a mission. But getting shot 10 times in the head and then do a magic-healing with a kit? No way! :nono:
  10. I get what you mean and can tell you why the ArmA series is not the kind of way showing the usual day of a soldier (including endless waiting in trenches). That's not what the majority of the players want - ironically while playing an authentic military simulator. At the end of the day people meet to shoot something, not just to sit for 4 hours of guard duty or delivering food to civilians. Recently I created a supply mission (mp mode) having a CH-47 and its escort; the player has to pick up several support items on different locations and transport it to its destinations. To keep the action factor I applied several action factors of spawning insurgents, fully aware that the amount of the attacks and transport actions might not be realistic in the amount of time the mission will be done. Oh and you don't need mods for everything ;) Just take a supply take, add some action menu entries, drive it to location X and spawn some things and you have a supply delivery. You can do whatever you want if you know how to do it. But ehm .... rhethorical question ... would this be possible in the menstruation game?
  11. You know it's up to the mission creator how realistic a mission can be? Basicly it is no problem to create a huge logistic preparation + ingame mission briefing + troop coordination + combined forces assault + no respawn + battlefield support using an ingame mission timespawn of multiple hours. You won't find that many complex missions because usually they require a lot of performance. Besides it'll be a total work of a few hundred hours for the creator. As a result I suppose that ArmA II can be as realistic as VBS can be. There's no real difference but in optics and technical issues. Regarding the dead dragon and the menstruation game ... well, they're simple shooters and I don't care for those games. Personally I have a problem in general with the word "realistic". Authentic is more suitable I think. There's a tiny difference in the meaning; authentic implies less-realistic aspects but trying to do its best to keep the balance between reality and gameplay. Just my thoughts to it.
  12. The SSM module still isn't mp compatible :( Just tested it on 1.54 + latest beta patch. There're still the same problems ... the support options are enabled during runtime, but there are no radio messages and no support incomming. And again, in sp mode / editor everything is fine.

  14. First of all, that's one of the best Iraq Mods I've seen so far for ArmA II! :) Everything I'd like to use is included! While browsing through the units I noticed some bugs. I don't know if they are already known because I simply had no time reading the whole thread. I hope the following listing helps improving this mod. I guess the real tragedy is that he still believes he's creating some kind of Flashpoint. :confused: Did he even bother to play the original Cold War Crisis? Just one random quote from the german amazon webshop regarding FPDR "Ich würde mir lieber selbst ins Bein schießen, als eine Kaufempfehlung auszusprechen." Translated it means "I'd rather shoot my leg than recommend buying this game." No good sign for the little brother, the menstruation game RR. :p

    Which is not entirely true I'm afraid :( While I was playing Operation Harvest Red for the first time I encountered Valentina in her red Skoda in the Manhattan mission ... it was horrific ... she just came along driving 100 mph, crushing into a poor guy, ejecting and reporting me some stuff. :eek:

    You can check out the GLT Framework addon (version 2.7 I think) which has a function for that included (mp compatible). But to be honest, I don't recommend the use of it for long time services because a more superior version of the GLT Framework has been already developed and will be released "in the near future".

    That's definately a great idea. After the socialist regime gone the former royal regime has to be put in charge having a mixture of eastern and western vehicles (again) .. much like RACS in Sahrani. Remember the Takistani Civilian AN-22 having a black/white/green paintjob? I can imagine the national army in these color settings. What do you think?

    I've sent an e-mail to Amazon, but they told me that they don't have any plans including the BAF into some kind of DLC offer :( I don't own a credit card or paypal or steam account but I want to buy this DLC. :depressed: Hopefully it'll be avaiable in more online stores soon. :(
  24. I'd like not to go too offtopic so that'll be my only answer to that offtopic. I work in a company that installs terminals in almost every major european supermarket / media market expanding worldwide. Belgium is just one tiny little step on the route. Please don't ask for the name of the company. I'm not ashamed of naming it, but it may be considered unwanted advertising which is forbidden by the forum rules ;) So I'll be around almost everywhere in the next 6-9 months, then I'll join the hotline team. That'll have effect on the time I can spend for every project. But relax, everything is working as I have foreseen. :)
  25. No mission editor? Hell, I would be unemployed in the menstruation game. What the heck should I do then? :confused: To compare this, I've spent a few thousand hours more in the OFP/ArmA/ArmA II/OA mission editor than I actually played missions.
