  1. You know what would make Red River interesting for me? Every feature that has A2/OA right now + something ground breaking new that calls my lower consumer insticts. And even then I know its published by CM, a company I certainly don't like ... guess I'm not part of the target group :p

    No I don't use GL3 or GL4. Elias Sound Mod plays the mosque ambient sound because the Sahrani churches are inheriting everything from the class church. While it was good in the old days, now it conflicts with the OA mosques when it comes to sound mods. I can confirm this bug. Time will tell if there's a way to fix it.

  8. @Przemek_kondor: Ok, you've posted valid points. Now I only hope that those points are being observed from an objective point of view, not subjective. As for me, I've got several DLC suggestions as well, but I wouldn't exaggerage any wish. I know a lot of things can't be done due the lack of money/time/manpower/insert anything you want so I wish quietly. On the other side ... do we really need yet another reskin of a unit that has been ingame for years? Don't get me wrong ... if the content is delivered in a fascinating way I'm going to get it. As an example I would name a possible National Takistani Army DLC that will most likely consist of existing units which are already avaiable in Operation Arrowhead. When I read your post I got the idea that the majority of addons is broken bullshit which I know isn't. Sure, not every addon out there is flawless, but not everyone has super skills or the time to develope super skills. Maybe the greatest problem is that some modders don't work together although they could work together, directly or indirectly. When I take a look at my A2/AO I got at least 4 US Army factions due to different addons which don't share the same faction class. Such things are easily avoidable just by talking to each other. Now in order to use the mods together I had to start modding and find a way to fix it without breaking the mods or screwing with 3rd party work. I always thought that this game-series is huge enough so everyone can find something that he likes. Regarding mods, it's really up to the administrators to allow certain mods. Which ones, that's depending on missions. I'm really glad that BIS found a good solution for the mp compatibility of the DLC. This thread has a strong conflict potential starting with people who don't like DLC at all. At the end of the day you can't satisfy everyone, no matter what you do.
  9. Some addon makers don't care about people who demanding things in a bitchy way. Ever considered there are modders that work for themselves or a small community and are only releasing things as a matter of good will? Not because they have to or because a "customer" had asked for something. By the way .. what's you definition of "low quality" addons? And the most important question .. what are you doing to improve/extend ArmA II?
  10. Very good thread indeed, Myke. Maybe you should explain to the unexperienced crowd what a script really is. For years people complain about "not using too many" scripts. However they don't get the idea that the whole editor is just a basic scripting portal and outsourcing editor code into separate files is for easier usage. Of course that's one of some reasons.

    There is no "lite" version. Don't get any false impressions. It's not a mod in a classic way. I'm creating missions and some basic stuff around them which I need. Inside of the planned mod package will be everything created by GLT so far. But it will still require 3rd party addons which are used in the missions. But this is heading too offtopic so please lets skip that until the official release.

    @Banderas: I didn't fix anything between CAA1 and PMC?! I didn't even know there was a problem. Regarding my config fix, I've got one very important issue to fix. While using Elias Sound Mod for A2/OA I noticed that many houses now have an mosque ambient sound which is very annoying. I'm trying to change that so only mosques will have that sound ingame. It's no fault of Elias Sound Mod, the problem lies in the inheritation of the old A1 buildings. By the way ... to spoil everyone a little bit ... what about a multi-national coop mission having different mission types and briefings for US Army, USMC, BAF, RACS and German Army who are trying to stabilize Sahrani after the war in 2006? ;) Don't count in a finished version in the first release, maybe an early alpha having one playable faction and some basic missions.

    I really like your work! :) It's great and very, very essential for Sahrani missions having the good old SLA back. Same goes for RACS as soon as PRACS is released :) Without both Sahrani missions are not the same like in the old days.

    It's still WIP. Using the fix for OAC_Core standalone fixes some problems, but not everything. I hadn't much time working on ArmA stuff in the past 3 months because I was working in several countries 45-60 hours per week. It's getting better now but I still have to keep everything running at the same time, not only CAA1. So be sure, the CAA1 config fix is only a very very small part of the mod I'm working on.

  18. Hi, that's always easy to say .. disabling certain or all mods would mean disabling basicly everything in the mission. I see the importance of clearing errors but on the other side I'm willing to except minor issues if there's no time to fix them. I'm working 50-60 hours per week all across europe, family matters on the weekend so I've got only some minutes for ArmA.
  19. Well I don't know what causes the problem. It might be third party work which I don't want to mess around with, besides maybe even not beeing allowed to. Also, have you considered that not everybody has the skills to fix certain issues? Right now it's CBA messing with my missions which I did not ask for. So please, how can I disable the hintC messages?
  20. Thanks for the hint ... these hint messages may be good for debugging but they always interrupt the gameplay. How can I disable them?

Some mission script gone wild maybe?
  22. Hmm seemed to be my fault :o Something was really wrong with the ALICE module and since 1.55 hintC messages are appearing (at least before I had none) ... I guess it's not a good idea to update the game itself and critical addons like CBA at the same time. Sorry for the panic, guys :)

    BWMod v 1.7 released!

    Hmm I'm having a lot of errors for quite some time now using BW Mod 1.7 since A2 1.07 and since OA release. The problem occured during the release of one of the A2 1.07 beta patches and remained from then ingame. I guess something has changed inside of the game so the mod is not entirely compatible anymore. Is there a hotfix avaiable that takes care of those issues?
