    What about the oil-pumps

Does anyone happen to know the name of the animation? Is it in the list of animations?

    What about the oil-pumps

Wow! That's quite an interesting find. I never noticed the oilpumps could move at all before...

    Battle Photographer?

That would only work if he made his own missions, is there any way to do it on-the-fly?

    Player looking for Squad/Clan

Not to run with speculation, but: While on the BDA server two nights ago there was at least one person on the game with the clan tag ETA...

Source If that includes helicopters under the all encompassing term "airplanes" (what a horrible Americanism too btw ) then we're good to go Yeah, I'm American and I was thinking the same thing after I read that report: "Is that the specific or the vague form of the word?" Sometimes Americanisms do hurt communication...

    PMC AEC islands released!

I still think the original OFP islands had more character than Sahrani, it was just something about the way things looked, you could see the story in the terrain (Kolgujev's destroyed buildings, Everon's lush green and Malden's sandy grassland all gave them unique characters). Everon is the Easternmost? Â OK, that makes my map useless for accuracy's sake. Â After I made it I just thought that BIS put the islands in like a hawaii-like chain, with Kolgujev in the east, Malden in the West and Everon stuck in the middle. I seem to remember the attack point that NATO chose to retake Everon from was the airport in the North. Â So would that put Malden northwest of Everon? Â But they left Everon initially from the south?! Â So that moves Malden just West of Everon. Â And then (since Everon is easternmost) Kolgujev is either Northwest or southwest of that? Â All this conflicting data just makes all the placements seem incorrect... Maybe the islands are on very fast tectonic plates and change positions regularly Â

    Player looking for Squad/Clan

I'm not a member, yet, but the BDA is always looking for members. The only real pre-requisite is that you have Teamspeak and use it regularly. The BDA servers are always pretty full and members of the BDA are a great help if you want to improve your skills at the game. Â They aren't a competitive clan, if that's what you're looking for; their main goal is just to enjoy Armed Assault as tactically and as realistically as possible. You should take a look: http://www.thebeerdrinkingassassins.com

Source Is that fix also in the 1.07b or just in 1.08? Â And, if it is in 1.07b, does that change in authority also affect helicopters?

    Helicopter CG

I'm not a real pilot, but after flying enough times in many different simulators there is only one thing that really bothers me about the flight model in Armed Assault: I can deal with the high CoG, I can deal with no accurate gauges (or almost no gauges, like in the AH1), I can even deal with a horrible field of view; but what annoys me most of all the that rudder pedals do just about nothing after 100mph. Â This isn't even just on helicopters it's on planes too... From all my stick time in simulators I have come to expect that when I push the rudder all the way to one direction that I'll get at least some slip from the plane (or helicopter), but in ArmA there's either nothing or everything. Â I don't think it's too much to ask that we get all the control surfaces working in a realistic manner... When I make a straffing run, I instictively expect to be able to use the rudder pedals to make corrections to my flight path so I can put ordinance on target. Â With the way the system works now it's completely hit-or-miss. Â Don't assume I don't love flying in ArmA, I do, but I really feel that the current flight model detracts from gameplay by making any fast, controlled flight extremely difficult.

    RHS Hind v1.0 for ArmA

I have just done my first flight and I have to say: "WOW!" This is an awesome helicopter, I love it! The only thing you have to include in the next version is working gauges; trying to land a helicopter like the hind without verticle speed and attitude indicators is tricky to say the least. Otherwise, this is better than even the BIS helicopters.

    PMC AEC islands released!

I have to agree, the islands probably should be put at least beyond the maximum visual range ArmA is capable of. Oh! And the more I think about it, Everon should be to the West and South of Kolgujev (when you take off in the A10 mission in the campaign you turn a northeasterly heading). Â Malden should probably be southeast of both the other islands. Even though this isn't real terrain, it would be nice to have it fit in with the story from Flashpoint. EDIT: Â I played around with where the islands were on the map and came up with a more aesthetically pleasing way to describe the positions I was talking about (though I don't know if I'm right or not; BIS probably had some map sketched out when they were designing the missions for OFP...): http://img395.imageshack.us/img395/2922/betterlayoutln6.jpg

    g15......yes..the..g15!

I have the G15 and mostly love it. I went searching for apps for ArmA, but couldn't find anything either. After using the G15 for a few months, I think its LCD is still best as a status screen for CPU usage and BW usage and as a great alternative to the TS Overlay, plus you can still chat on instant messengers while in-game. I thought the LCD was a gimmick at first, but I have grown to find it one of the most useful peripherals on my computer. I use the macros occassionally, but when I've needed them they have saved my butt (they even saved me hours of typing on a project once).
