I'm glad people like them...I expected a whole lot of "ERK! More M4s!" etc. Anyway, Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) are the most known (at leats to me) forces that use them, I'm sure there are others, so a google search may bring you some results. JAM MIGHT be included in a future update.

OK, the new version has been uploaded and fixes the small muzzle flash bug. It can be found over at http://sjb.ofpr.com/dms2/. Sorry for the inconvenience. Also, whilst I was uploading the new version, I uploaded the Addons At Ease (AAE) compliant version too, so if you prefer a smaller download (roughtly 800kb smaller), check it out as well. Both files can be found at the site.

After investigating and comparing file size/modification dates and times, I've established I accidentally uploaded an older version of the PBO within the .zip EDIT:*Removed* See below

I have just uploaded FULL v1.00 of the Designated Marksman System Pack. It can be found at the DMS Website. It comes with a converted BIS mission - Bomberman. As it says on the site, its still in .zip format for now, but within the next few days, I intend to upload an AAE compliant .MSI installer. Bug fixes: - Corrected ACOG zoom (now the zoom is fixed at x4), - Corrected the CAR-15 Barrel, and M16A2 muzzle break, - Minor code tweaks, - Other minor tweaks and fixes. Enjoy, and post feedback.
-
I've just completed making the mission, its good fun, but a little difficult. Shows of the rifles well though, and gives you a choice of all four in the inventory selection screen.
-
Then we're in agreement, I shall release two versions, the AAE complaint .MSI installer, and a bog-standard .ZIP file.
-
I may make the forth-coming release Full Release v1.00 and package it in a an AAE (Addons At Ease) package. I'll be off to make the demo mission soon - even if this release isn't made into an AAE compatible .MSI launcher, the mission will come in handy for when it is. For those of you who do not know what Addons at Ease (AAE) is about, check out this section of the forums.

On a more on-topic note, I've fixed many (infact all) of the issues that have been reported both here and on various comments pages on news sites where an item has been posted about the pack. Expect another BETA this weekend, unless any major bugs are reported between now and then. If no more bugs are reported by Thursday, I may release Public BETA v1.1 on Friday.

I don't wanna moan, but can we keep it more on topic, don't want the thread locked or similar for going into political opinions. Cheers EDIT: By the way Miles, I'm looking forward to that mission, screenshots are looking good.

Sorry, I missed the answer to your question out in my earlier replies. Yes, they are based upon the models from my SRT Pack. I just added the ACOG, bipod etc, and rescaled the M16A2.
-
I've rescaled the M16A2, and have adapted the ACOG optic, so it is fixed at x4 zoom, as it is supposed to be. I was working on an SR-25 a long time ago...but it burnt out. I have no plans to finish it. EDIT: I've uploaded two images of the updated M16A2, they can be found at http://sjb.ofpr.com/dms2/images/update/.

*Another Britney moment* Oops! I did it again... Like I said its only a BETA, there will be bugs....although I hoped they wouldn't be as blatantly obvious as that. I'll sort it, sont worry

hmm dump-trucks...I smell a Die-Hard With A Vengeance mission coming on. "...they don't allow dump-trucks on the FDR!"
-
Well, the following images are what I used for my source of the CAR-15. Both images courtesy of isayeret.com Although, they are modified by the IDF etc, so perhaps that is the source of the differences.
-
Yes I was also working on some HMMWVs, but they've been placed on hold due to the fact you can fire through the enitre rear end for no apparent reason. I might restart work on those soon though to see if my new found knowledge can help figure out the problem since I last worked on them.

Should the Special Reaction Team Addons by SJB, have working animated goggles, similar to that in the BAS Delta/Ranger Pack? Post your opinions...
-
The reason the old models have been canned is due to the the crotch area and the tops of the legs. As the legs are a seperate part of the body, the top areas of them clip though the crotch area. This is best seen on http://sjb.ofpr.com/srt2/Units/Images/desert/SJB_DesertRecon_M16A2.jpg. The good news is I've begun remaking them, and they're already looking really good, and it shouldn't have as big of an impact upon the release as I first thought (but an impact all the same). No screenshots of the new versions yet, as its still early days. Several other jeep variations are planned, so I doubt you'll be disappointed GOOB.
-
Due to rather major modelling issues, the units are being re-made from scratch which has obviously impacted upon the release window of mid-february. I will work on them as fast as possible, but without rushing them to the point I make stupid little mistakes. On another, lighter note, I've re-started work on the Jeep Pack which was dropped for some time. Early screenshots can be found at http://sjb.ofpr.com/srt2/Vehicles/images
-
But for those who do not have/want JAM (for whatever reason) its best to keep the JAM coding in a sperate PBO, so as not to deny those individuals the right to use the addon.
-
Looking good Sole. D/L'ing now.

Just to let everyone know that work is still going on with the FULL RELEASE of v2.0 although it is very limited at this time due to my intense work on the Special Reaction Team Pack v2.0 Check out this directory for latest images of the Desert Eagles (the only weapons to be worked on recently). Edit: I'll be looking into the Locking slides in more detail for Pack Three (and the updates to Pack One and Two), rather than for Pack Two FULL.

In my continuing work upon the units, I've updated the S.R.T. Night Entryman and added an XML arm-patch to the units, which is exactly how it sounds, its an armpatch that, during MP games, displays the players XML image (if they have one set up) at the top of their left arm. Here are two screenshots I just uploaded: - First is of the XML Patch (for comparison purposes, the XML Image is the same as my forum avatar): http://sjb.ofpr.com/srt2/Units/Images/misc/SJB_XML_Armpatch.jpg - The updated Night Entryman: http://sjb.ofpr.com/srt2/Units/Images/srt/SJB_SRT_NightEntry_v2.jpg
-
The tracers will be very similar to that featured in JAM, as will the sounds. This is to keep consistancy for when players/AI use the JAM magazines...both SJB M16 magazines and JAM M16 Magazines for example both sound the same.
-
A common question I'm often asked is, "Will the units feature increased armour characteristics for their body, due to the inclusion of the new flak vest?" Well, the answer is yes, but only for the units that actually wear the vest i.e. Woodland and Desert Recon, as well as the Special Reaction Team Units. Jungle and Winter recon will not, as they dont feature the vest model. Just the clear things up

I've just completed re-scaling the M4A1s, and they're looking ten times better than before, once I re-scale the M16A2s tomorrow, that will be the weapons completed (apart from BETA testing of course). Two new screenshots: The first is of the rescaled M4A1 (as mentioned above): http://sjb.ofpr.com/srt2/Weapons/Images/SJB_M4A1_NewRescale.jpg The second is of the new and improved M16A4 Aimpoint which is less box-like now: http://sjb.ofpr.com/srt2/Weapons/Images/SJB_M16A4_HiPoly_Aimpoint.jpg
