CBA is not going to be that big for PR if they are going to make it standalone. Can't wait for this.

Worked pretty well for me and I have 2 8800GTX. In a massive 78 person online game I was getting non lagged visuals even in cities. Works a real treat.

My whole thing is I just wanted to know if Ace was sticking by the original for now and then maybe down the road in the later future they may upgrade to the new expansion.

I would be pissed. DLC has really started to be abused. I smell lawsuit very, very soon if any and all companies continue to milk this. It is a terrible thing and I feel that EA, CM and other console companies have got to get a grip. They are charge happy.

Thanks for the info O hara. Many thanks. I could deal with the long term future just Im not Mr. Money bags and for me 80 dollars in total to play a mod for a game is a lot for me. People may have different situations but this is mine. Thanks for the response.

Good idea. Im awaiting for some kind of post from the ACE mod forum on what they think they may do then I can prepare. ACE mod is the only real reason I buy this game and since money is going to be tight down the road. I want to be able to play the thing I came here to play.

With the new announcement of the new Expansion I was just wondering where ACE is going be in the future. I have Arma2 and I personally have no interest in getting the new Expansion and so my question is if we don't get the new standalone expansion will we be able to play the ACE MOD still? I'm hoping that you guys will just stick with Arma 2 rather then adding in the Expansion so that people like myself who don't want to upgrade don't have too. Any info on that would be awesome.

What does that mean? I want to know if the Standalone is going to offer support in that if a mod can still be played without someone having to buy the new standalone expansion.

My one problem with this new expansion is lets say Im playing ACE mod(when it comes out) and all of sudden they decide to jump over to this new standalone thing. Where does that leave me a person who just wants to play the ACE mod? I mean am I going to have to buy this cause they are now using the features that are in the so called expansion? That is what kind of pisses me off about this. Not price, not the new campaigns and stuff and features because Im not getting it anyway. I would be pissed if I had to get it because I wanted to continue to play the ACE mod. If that happens I will become upset with the situation. I would like to know what the Mod situation is going to be like cause Im sure that 80% of the people on these forums use mods. Thanks.

About the patch yes it did help Nvidia users run the game smoother. 190.38 has made a world of difference.

Not true at all. People were saying the same thing pre 1.03 and all that was needed for most was a driver update. Most of the people that play this game have rigs that can play on high settings with no problem. The problem here is that BIS has decided once again to do shady optimization upgrades to the game. All I heard leading up to Arma 2 was how much improved optimization has been improved but this is not the case. Bis need to get performance issues sorted. I bet when Ace mod comes out there will be much better performance with the addition of that mod. How come that is? Why can't Bis fix there own game so at least 90% of us see a quality difference in their product. You are completely in the wrong on this. Yes probably with top of the line gear you could get the game to play on all Very high settings but people are having problems playing on medium and low so this has nothing to do with hardware. It has to do with optimization and this game is still lacking that quality.

I'm sorry for the bad etiquette but people shouldn't get so irradiated with people who don't have as much knowledge about mod installing and what not. Again sorry for getting upset and thanks for teaching me. Also I did do a search on the internet for guides on how to install mods but I didn't really find much. I found something about someone saying they were going to teach people soon. Thanks for the guide though.
