    Okay, I've been bending my head around doing texture maps. I got the general idea (I think), and wondering how I adjust those maps so that they work in the model. I've used 3DSMax before, just trying to figure out Oxygen...

    I agree, the Scope Rifle is a little off from the main book, but good enough. Â As for progress? Â I figured out how to do some basic texturing (see below), but right now it's for my enjoyment since neph is re-working the dropship model.     It's going slowly, I submitted some tentative maps for the dropship, and submitted some textures for the APC. As soon as neph gets back with me on what to use, I'll get on it next week as I'm going to London with a friend this weekend. BTW, I modified the config file so now that the Mk.88s can be laser guided. Â And also I modified it so the weapon is treated like a missile, since it firing all rockets at once got on my nerves, that's the main reason though. I used an AI (non-squad) dropship, and gave it a Search and Destroy waypoint, lased, and it engaged with all of them. Â Very nice. Â I'll have to (or maybe neph might) get you the config I did. Â But now it sounds cool with the adjusting munitions, definitely cool..

    Tell it to land, and then handle your business (the added command makes him land and shut off the engine, but the concern is where he lands, the wrong place and bye bye dropship). Â Simply put him somewhere where he'll be out of the way, then call him in when needed. Â As for the APC bit, it's a trigger related thing. Â Have them go a certain way, and when they hit the trigger (problem is that it's hard to catch the players with it, unless you time it accordingly to account for movement) viola, no worky APC. Â Then gotta hoof it on foot. I managed to get Deadmeat to allow me to use some scripts from the BAS Blackhawk Addon that work well, so it's doable.

    Due to the current limitations of the design of the APC and dropship, it can be modified to where you load the APC into the dropship, then take off. Of course the design is still in beta phase, so neph or KyleSarnik may find a way to implement it. Good idea, just not practical. Note also that in order for the APC/dropship combo to work, it has to be part of your squad, which means you also essentially got some aerial fire support, but in lieu of some testing on my part, it may be better for you to BE the pilot, clear the area, drop the APC, get out, finish the other area, have one soldier hop in the pilot, then wisk you away. The thing is, the dropship has ALOT of firepower, but unfortunately, the AI tends to ruin the fun of blasting away targets. And due to some limitations of the game engine, you'll get limited fire support from the APC.

    Neph, you got a PM More ds stuff, went up against the DKM Tunguska in a mission I've created, and I would say the ECM suite is good. Overall the defensive systems are great, I've evaded plenty of SAMs, and only one got a lucky (real lucky) hit one time. Other than that, good work Kyle

    Well, I've been playing with it for some more, and the dropship is a good weapons platform, but honestly I wouldn't suggest letting the AI handle some tasks, such as combat, and landing in tight terrain. Other than that, it's still fun

    Neph's gonna get me the layout for the APC soon, there's some issue with the dropship, so she'll get it to me when she can. But as said, yes you can, only thing is that the flight model doesn't reflect the extra weight, I'm hoping Kyle can figure something out for it.

    Aren't you the the texturer? Er... sorry I get lost with all my other projects I havn't been keeping up to date with USCM srry. Er... so what up then, how are the infantry weapons coming? Almost ready to add to the config? Yep, I'm doing the texture work, well, whenever I get the layout.

    Gotcha.  Hey, they haven't updated the MSN Messenger on my computes, so if you got Yahoo! Messenger, I'll PM my Loginname.  Any word on the layout? As for the jammer stuff okay, I'll add that to the readme.  Just trying to understand the aircraft, so these guys will when the addon is finished  And no ff, I didn't do this one.  I actually made one in 3DSMAX, but this one puts me to shame... she did a good job, some glitches that need to be addressed, but overall good. And sorry about the images Hellfire6...... And an addendum to the screenies above. The reason I have the nose more towards the building is because that's where the "spawn" point (as well as the "mount" point) for dismounting soldiers. The top of the bridge I had no choice, as collision detection is there for the lamp poles, and it would look funky with them sticking through the ds, but overall it's fun to fly.

    What I meant was that the jammer, compared to the DKM Mi-28, seems less effective. Â The jammer does work, but if you have the Mi-28 as the target, you can't tell which target is which (i.e. there are more target boxes in the top), whearas when you use the UD-4L as a target, you can lock onto it (only one target box), but missile effectiveness is lower. Â I used the SFM Su-27 as the aircraft against the UD-4L. Â I expended all missiles, and failed horribly against it with guns only. Â Note that flares are available, but it seems too limited (I believe only nine uses). Neph can give the basic description as she has a copy on hand of the Colonial Marines Technical Manual. Â She's done a good job overall with the countermeasures system, so when the USCM addon is complete, she's not putting out a crappy addon.

    @neph Gotcha. Okay, here's how the ds overall flys..... like a pig. Â But the thing is, once you get it started moving forward, it shoots off like a rocket. Â It's based on the Cobra flight model, but the LOD issues (what neph told me anyways) make it hard to sideslip. Â But after awhile, the beast is very fun to fly. Â Turning is a pain, and if you wheel the mouse too far (I use a mouse, my stick for some reason doesn't work) it'll be canted off to the side. Â I'm going to post some screenshots to show what you can possibly do (with the right scripts and stuff, or play use). Â Maneuver the dropship as if it were a helicopter, it raises up vertically, and down vertically, it's sweet . Weapons loadout is varied, and fun to use. Â Right now I feel the 25mm chaingun is way too overpowered (it can kill a DKM Black Eagle, but it shouldn't, least not outright anyways), but the other weapons seem allright. Â Overall it's good as it is, but some more tweaking, and it's gonna be cool. One feature that I thank DeadMeat from Ballistic Addon Studios is the "Land" feature. Â If you used the MH-47E addon from BAS, this feature is also present. Â It's available while dismounted from the Action Menu, and if the AI pilot for the dropship is away, through the Soldier Action Menu. Â Note that like the MH-47E, the AI pilot will try to find the best spot. Â Be careful on mountainous terrain, they could kill themselves (happened on one playtest), so bear that in mind. Some actions, such as deploying/retracting weapons pods/gear are through key combos (script included with the dropship), as well as flight modes. Â All in all, the only problem is lack of textures, but when it comes, more will be shown. For right now, when I get a chance, I'll take some shots that show the capabilities later on. The dropship has a beta countermeasures system, that works against Strelas, and against (so far) SA-19s. The Jammer I don't like too much, not on par with DKM's Mi-28 ECM system, but it works. And it's armored like hell, so...

    @neph: Â Thanks! Maybe you should also mention I've been flying the dropship for quite a bit too, so if you want me to go over the flight/handling characteristics, I can do that too.

    To be technical, it wouldn't matter, as it's well.... bright. Though on one hand, I was playing RvS, and got hit with a dual flashbang/tear-gas combo in a corner. Â Luckily I had a wingman who got the tosser, or I would have been dead. Â Can't wait to see those to be used.

    Well, making up a name shouldn't be too hard, just think of something along the lines of what it should be. Since the battle of Linna 326 (?) happened some other time, just something like..... related to the story of the USCM, since most ship names are named after famous people.
