I have my x360 for party-gaming only. In fact, thats the only gaming I do nowadays, simple havent got time for any other games. Guitar Hero is damn fun - especially when you are a few friends hanging out . Cant wait for rock band.

    Crysis Impressions.

rofl I think you hit the nail . No, make an ARMA island the size and density as the Crysis island and you'll get as good if not better performance. I'm enjoying Crysis but the jungle is nothing more than a closed in valley or just about 10m deep into the jungle before you get a steep hill you can't climb that breaks your viewdistance so you can run a high FPS. I'll be a believer once I see large open landscapes in this engine. Nevertheless I am getting better framerates in crysis than out on open ocean in ArmA with no visible land. If programmed really well, the ArmA engine wouldn't care about objects longer than your viewdistance away - yet it does.

Coordinated Military Gas Testing @ my supermarket

It is indeed a nice sunny day today and I will be out to enjoy it shortly, unlike some that are forever stuck indoors! Wow did my last post really sound that depressing!? ... LOL! I was merely getting the point across about political realities not that I am forever depressed by them! FFS I live a fulfilling and enjoyable life, I make my own way through it and get out of it what I want, always have, always will. I certainly don't need any pity or guidance from my academic juniors!! You sure need it at times, though

Coordinated Military Gas Testing @ my supermarket

Well, the problem with methyl bromide (bromomethane) is, that if only exposed slightly an hour or so, you cannot detect in a human body wether or not it was exposed to it. If the persons were affected over a longer period of time, it could be detected using urine sample scanning for bromid (which bromomethane breaks down into at first). But I doubt any such samples were taking from the victims, as that isn't normal procedure - especially if they thought it was something else at first. I, for obvious reasons, cannot tell you which scanning methods were used at that super market (or any other of those areas), but a very known method, is called the VOST Field analysis (which as the name implies, is a test outside the laboratory). (http://www.p2pays.org/ref%5C07/06219.pdf) Although this test is a standard test (although with several variances), it has shown that, among other similar gases, methyl bromide is not always detected in air using this method. While this COULD explain why it wasn't detected at the supermarket, it doesn't explain why several gas leaks were present (as you stated). It is indeed unacceptable that the victims haven't gotten any information on the leak, which is also why we are sitting here guessing, but I am not convinced at all that some conspiracy is present. I do fully understand why this story fills allot on your mind, Troska - that is natural. But seriously - 9 (unexplainable) gas leaks on a global scale... That is not that uncommon as you might think, and as earlier stated - it can simply be a mix between human made gas leaks and natures gas leaks (which also happens regularly). It isn't that uncomming seeing dead birds. What I am trying to say is, that if you really want to dig up 8 cases of gas-leaks in a day searching the worlds local newspapers - it's not that hard to find, and certainly not that puzzling. I am pretty sure the responsible agencies in your region could have handled the things better. But incompetence doesn't equal conspiracy Red Kite, it's not that I don't wanna investigate it fully, it's just that i'm convinced that there is nothing more than bad management in this, and therefor not worth the time and effort you COULD put into this. I rather want to concentrate on REAL issues such as global warming - and not on conspiracies. Mr. Troska, I hope you will be able to get this thing outa ya head, as it probably fills allot on ya mind.

Btw. This posts looks a 'bit' like this 6 months old thread http://www.teknoscape.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=32452 Edit, and this: http://www.911oz.com/forum....d1594d5 Lol, is that you spamming the world wide web for a bit of conspiracy fame? rofl! Oh, and this might be your explanation (found in one of ya threads): Hey Lin. This post slipped under my radar, thanks for being so comprehensive. Perhaps another angle you could look at this, are the variety of different food preservation techniques used in transportation of food. In particular: the use of methyl bromide as a preservative for transportation for the mass foods found in supermarkets. I met someone a while back who worked for a chemical company, who specialises in food transportation and preservation. Some of the methods he described sounded completely alien to me; the most relevant is the use of methyl bromide gas. Those of you that know a bit of chemistry would be thinking now, methyl bromide and food? This guy is crazy. Bromide, a halogen is a strong irritant and oxidiser: very toxic. But it is a little known secret that Methyl bromide fumigation is used as a preservative from fresh fruit to preserved meats to prevent spoilage. I know for a fact its used in Australia, according to my chemical engineer guy above. I could get you some emails from a university if you want to investigate this lead. Just a thought. Check out this book: http://www.amazon.com/Methyl-Bromide-Issue-C-Bell/dp/0471955213 Perhaps you should investigate some of the Australian companies that provide the infrastructure, and chemicals to transportation companies in regards to safety procedures etc. I think just like the banking system, if people knew what goes behind their food there would be a revolution before tomorrow! Perhaps why its kept quiet. Just investigate what goes into your meat...But thats offtopic. (PS if it was ammonia, you could TELL truuust me. No reason to keep large volumes of ammonia in a supermarket . Stupid excuse). --- End qoute.

Coordinated Military Gas Testing @ my supermarket

It is not so much, that we don't think it wont happen in 'our' time, I just think that IF it happend, i'm not naive enough to think that this thread will do anything about it . Atleast I live in a country where I trust the government not to make any public tests on me without my knowledge. If you guys don't do it, I sugest you leave from your current habitat - I know I would.

Coordinated Military Gas Testing @ my supermarket

Hmm, let me think... Hey, i've come up with an answer! Maybe they don't know what caused it!? Gases can be very hard to trace. Especially if tracing equipment isn't there until a couple hours after exposure, the gas can be completely gone - also from your body. Effects to the body can substain a long time, though - even though the gas is gone.

Hey mate. A little offtopic I know. How is seawolves doing? I am a former 688i hunter killer player from there, and of course also a former SWAF member (back when it was formed in june 2001). Is janes working on some new software?

Just another conspiracy. I don't think 15 cases of gas-leaks or maybe even some natural occurance is unlike in one day worldwide.

    Thought Design Experiement

Maybe have the laserbeam texture be an animation which loops slowly to invisible and then to visible. The keypoint is "slowly". This would generate the effect of smoke coming in infront of the beam and makes it visible to the human eye. This simplifices it alot. I believe it would take too much work to make it work through semi-transparent objects, and not solid ones. It should be stopped as soon as it hits anything the BI laser designator interprets as solid. Is it possible to stop drawing an object (laser-beam) whenever you want to using scripts? If not... You can create small bits of the laserbeam and make it be drawn in a straight line, until the nearest object. I am thinking of bits as small as 10 cm. It should also be stopped at some distance, say 150 metres. So the beam will be divided into 1500 10 cm long laser beam parts when it's longes: -------------------------------- -------------|House or any other solid object| As mentioned earlier... The small bits would have be animated texture (low resolution), going from almost solid beam to completely invisible (most of the time). This would also give the effect that there are different particles throughout the range.

AI kept shooting at static weapon

I have to agree. When i get an my friendly AI (humvee) to target an enemy it totally owns it.. Same thing when my team mate sniper (AI) used all its whole round on a jeep with a machine gun mounted on it. he was equiped with a M107.. From a tactical view, it's better to steal a working vehicle, than to destroy it. No matter what, you don't wanna waste your ammo on an empty m2 post, if the enemy is shooting at you.

Lol... Yea, why not correct all the bugs, make it stable, add true wildlife and enable multiplayer campaing. And then release it as ArmA2? Oh wait - that was the feature-list of ArmA.... Now what do we do!?

What are you talking about`? He will profit within 5 years compared to having them in the bank.

Wind Turbines For or against & why?

You just need to store the energy - for example my pumping water into high ground, and use turbines to generate electricity whenever there is no wind.

Wind Turbines For or against & why?

Exactly.... Atleast my country agree in this point - which is also why Denmark have no nuclear power plants and have forced the Swedish plant, Barsebäck to closure. Dwarden - again, do you have any sources to back up your claims, or is your points something you dreamed up yourself? Cheers

Wind Turbines For or against & why?

i guess You missed the point where i said the 'waste' is reusable in future reactors (timeframe 50-250y) after that the waste is radioactive only for sub 50y also i would like to see terrorist attacking underground, well defended by active army forces storage deposite ... as someone who knows how nuclear fusion works, how our plants works i stand behind it's clean and effective or show me another cheap and effective (from construction to mainteance) source of 2000MW capable work 99% of 365 days (1% counted for checkup mainteance) Nuclear energy is not clean. And accidents WILL happen. I would also like to see what military can stand guard and protect storage facilities. No western army are THAT succesfull. Just look at how pathetic the coallition forces are in current affairs. Another, more important reply to your post. Do you have any source to back up your claims? That the radioactive waste is depleeted within 300 years? If so, please post them here. As a medical and chemical engineer student, I know how a nuclear reactor works, and I also know how biological material reacts to large levels of radiation. As you mention, the waste can be either stored as fuel waste or recycled or reprocessed. In the united states, the waste is directly stored into the ground after it losses the most heat and radiation from the decay. That is why US has so much waste, compared to other parts of the planet. In Europe the isotopes are recycled and used again in other aspects, but the radiation doesn't decay from this - as the isotopes remains. In Europe, the nuclear waste is, however, also sent to reprocessing which means that it can be used as fuel again. Again, the radiation doesn't decay - it simply decreases the amount of radioactive fuel neccessary to maintain production of power. Furthermore, 3% of the waste cannot be either recycled nor reprocessed and ends directly in the ground (after initial storage for about 50 years). It takes several thousand years of isolation for this waste to be safe again.
