Sorry, I deleted his reply because he had edited it saying something like this: "damn, I need to stop talking" ... so I figured what he had to say wasn't relevant anymore and so was his reply

Sounds nice I hope this expansion will offer me a longer gameplay experience as I liked MOHAA, but not for longer than 1 day since I finished it already and the game is exactly the same the second time (except for a difficulty increase). I did really like the music, sounds, atmosphere, graphics and map design and would like to play an expansion (even if it's just for one day ). Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Moving this thread to "Mission editing"

Is it really? I always thought EAX was just another form of hardware acceleration. If it's not, could you explain to me what it does do? Is it to do with special effects such as echoes and reverbs?

Well, unfortunately I don't know why everything seems to be so dark as I myself never had that problem. Could it be your video card/driver-set? As the leader calls his targets, you will get a direction with it and an estimated distance. I don't know if you've seen this already, but in your HUD there's a directional clock which will aid you while looking for e.g. "3 o'clock". I guess it takes some practise, but using that and the distance to target, you should be able to see where the enemy is (you can also see their traces/muzzle flashes when fired upon). If you have OFP set to cadet mode, you can press 'M' to access the map and see exactly where you are. Also use the in-game compass ('G' and the one on the map to guide you to your objectives. Just look where the objective is in relation to you (e.g. North West) and start moving in that direction. To find out your squad number, you can look in the "Group"-section of your briefing our look at what number is said when you yourself use the radio (e.g. by pressing '5'-'5' to ask where the leader is). I hope that helps a tiny bit and I'm sure other people will have better suggestions for you

This is what I like to see; both sides sit down and discuss their differences. A very mature thing to do. I hope we can resolve this issue, look back and laugh at it

I seem to be having the same problem with my own soundcard (a Terratec DMX XFire 1024, which is something like the SBLive series). Like Mister Frag said, you should either disable hardware accelerations and leave EAX on (which worked for me), or you should disable both of them (I tried this for a while and still had surround sound).

You could make several coloured smoke grenades following the plane, but that won't look good because these grenades will not create a smoke trail, rather a thick cloud of smoke behind it I think it could be done with custom add-ons, but I'm not into that.

Would this trigger condition work?
DnA replied to Aculaud's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
The knowsAbout-value will be changed to represent what an object knows about another object in the game. Example: At 0.3 they may only know there is some object somewhere at 12 o'clock, but they don't know anything about it. At 0.7 they may only know it's a NATO unit. At 1.0 they know it's a NATO soldier. At 2.0 they may know everything about the object. I could be wrong though, please correct me if I am. Also, the values I choose are examples. You may experience that e.g. level 0.7 already tells the object's side and class. I do think 2.0 is the maximum value so 3.0 won't work. I would try 1.0 in your case, but like LauryThorn said: just experiment a little. -

DnA replied to Lorenzo's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Yes, you are right Rastavovich. It's a nice script and since it will only loop 1 to 12 times, it won't be bad on your processor. I would go for the version without the _i-variable, because it's always better to have your script as efficient as possible. Although this isn't important in this case, it's a good 'habit' to take on. -

We are busy merging our mission database with the one in use at @War. This way we will no longer suffer from all the problems we had with our own database and we will have a huge collection of missions together.

BIS has just opened their official Operation Flashpoint: Resistance web-site and it's looking amazing! On the site you can find the expansion-set's features, characters, a couple of great images and this is what is told in the History-chapter: </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Nogovo, a devastated former socialist outpost of the Soviet Union, turned fledgling democracy, makes a life for its citizens based on the export of raw materials and tourism. But the fascination of a new-found freedom is slowly dimming, corruption proliferates, criminality festers and some people start calling for the good old days. Nogovo is located a short distance from the Malden Islands, and its gorgeous natural beauty spots are juxtaposed with built-up areas which still haven’t recovered from years of socialist ideology and life-style.<span id='postcolor'> One of the new things we didn't know before, is the presence of a brand new unit type included in the expansion; a motor-cycle.

CM has just announced a new expansion for OFP and it is looking amazing! </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">With over one million copies shipped of the award-winning Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis, Codemasters today confirms details of a dedicated expansion for the PC best seller titled Operation Flashpoint: Resistance. Due to launch at retail on June 21st and requiring the original game to play, Operation Flashpoint: Resistance is a full expansion. Enhancing the Flashpoint universe, Operation Flashpoint: Resistance creates an additional 100km2 island complete with industrial-style buildings and original landscape scenery. Thanks to the use of high-resolution textures throughout, the visuals will be much more detailed and dramatic than ever before.<span id='postcolor'> More information here.

I know, I know! It was Mrs. Blanche White with the candlestick in the billiard room! But seriously, I never touched that post.
-
No it wouldnt be possible since OFP does not support join-in-progress. And IMO the islands would be too small as well.
-
Indeed...and the fact that the campaign is based on the same conflict, is because it's based in the same OFP universe as the OFP1985 and RH campaigns. You dont hear anyone complaining about the fact that the Brotherhood of NOD are the badguys once again in Renegade, do you?
