With that said, is it really true that if you download it digitally and burn it to DVD , how true is it that you only get to install the game like 5 times? I mean, fack, what if we have crappy systems and have to keep reinstalling to get the game to work correctly?

ArmA2 1.03 Impressions - ALL Impressions/Videos/Screenies Here
chammy replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
I agree, I don't know how you are getting such bad performance, i have the demo and it runs beautifully. I have anti aliasing and I'm able to run it on and off. ArmA1 may run a tad bit smoother because there isnt much detail as ArmA2 but still, the detail doesnt hinder much at all. When I hear of such extreme rants I sometimes think these are rival critics of another company or game aimed at discouraging purchasing this game. Don't feel too bad about the game. Look at Americas Army 3. I hear there are truck loads of bugs, the Army even fired a Developing team in California. I even have my gripe about the sound effects in it *ehem*. I am going to be uninstalling AA3 also for the time being cause it will be a while till they fix the bugs. I just hope that BIS doesn't decide to finx bugs in ArmA2 and then release an ArmA3 next year or something. -
What site did you get yours Noraf?
-
LOL, not from a Torrent but from an online shop yes. I notice with Steam there is a file called common where the games are at, i assume I can back up those files but I didnt see an installment executable in there unless I am not looking right. thanks

Yeah, so far I have called several stores, Target, Walmart, Bestbuy, Fry's, Gamestop, non of them have ArmA2 listed in there soon to come list of PC games. And it's funny that I was able to find an Operation Flashpoint PC game in Target when it came out, i think it was the GOTY edition too. -
ArmA2 Demo Release Today - 2PM GMT - 3PM CET - 6:00 AM PST
chammy replied to Placebo's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - GENERAL
So far I have ArmA2 Demo installed a I have no problems thank God, I can't believe it and I'm running with Windows 7 as my OS. I downloaded off of Steam. My benchmark test with settings on very high and with a program running in the back came out to 20 fps. On high was 33 fps. Not sure if that is good or bad or what. My graphics card gets at about 65 c, the fan is set at 50. ArmA2 has proved me wrong, I think this game is beautiful!! I can't wait for it to come out this July the 4th. -

Sorry everyone, I'm getting all messages and checking up on forums again, I still have real life stuff to iron out but I built a new system so iam motivated once again heh. I had a few request to make something compatible with A.C.E. mod and with HiFi so I will be doing that as time permits. As for a CSM update and BI Key, istill have not been able to concentrate further on it but all in due time. I have a lot on my plate.

All Things Sound Mods
chammy replied to mrcash2009's topic in ARMA 2 & OA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
I was checking out the youtube footage of ArmA2, the foot steps I think should still have a little more bass or some "pumfp" like, they sound too much like someone with flat feet running barefoot on concrete or wet concrete. Has anyone noticed if there was some combat jingle with the running? Some cloth friction sound? Still I am holding on to ArmA, trying to resist the temptation to buy ArmA2, grinning and bearing it ---------- Post added at 04:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:33 PM ---------- I have checked it out. I'm not too impressed, yet, the sounds in there are contrary to the idea I had back when OFP came out and in ArmA, when people heard some of the sounds I made they said they sounded like paint ball guns. Now that AA3 came out and testimony was made to how the sounds were implicated into the game people are saying "they sound so real" where as people used to say the ones I made sound like someone poking a card board box hahahahh. I thought it was funny. Yeah the sounds from AA3 are impressive (and real) to an extent but they left out a lot of nuances and reverberation, specially around reflective areas like walls and forest areas. The sounds are more suited for open fielded areas. The SAW is just horrible. I posted some feedback on AA3 forums, I decided not to argue with any hardcore AA gamers out there, they are die hard dedicated to the developers, which the California Devs were fired. -

Windows 7 Will it work with ArmA, ArmA2 and OFP to OFP2?
chammy replied to chammy's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
Yup, I am able to run ArmA, just installed 3 updates and now, oh, what is the 1.15 update? Do I need it? I hear its the Queens Gambit but i don't have that addition. Just up to 1.14. -

Hello all. I have an issue here, not sure if any of you guys have Windows 7 but i do now, the Win 7 RC. I have tried to install drivers for the graphics card but when it comes to installing the drivers the error message that appears is: "Only windows xp and windows Vista, both 32-bit and 64-bit versions, are supported by this driver CD" What gives. I was able to install Direct X drivers and precision tools. The graphics card I am using is EVGA Geforec GTX 285 and there is no version for it (eg. SSC or Black). I 've looked around for a topic on this and so far nothing has turned up yet. I tried looking for some drivers a patch but nothing yet. I'm still trying to get used to Windows 7 IE browser which I love so far. Installed Win 7 last night. So far the computer recognizes the video card and even says its working properly , yet, I have not been able to load the drivers for it yet cause I keep getting the message. Do you think the 64bit installation is to blame or partly? I have an Intel Core 2 Quad 8200 and 2GB memory. Should I have installed the 32-bit?

HiFi Novus Aevum - modular sound conversion
chammy replied to Mark XIII (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
 Heh, forget about it (Al Pacino way) And thanks for accepting my apology, yeah, at times I can be "silly" and even quite critical to myself, kind of an OCD type of thing too. Great work Mark and kudos, I also have your sound mod installed as you already know heh, so I will switch back and forth from mine to yours and to VOP's also, depending on my mood, I'm getting back into ArmA again. Thanks again Sure thing bro, right now I'm going to shoot at working on a BI Key first then make something a little more compatible with all the sound mods, I know I keep sayign I will make a BI Key but I just hadnt quite been able to sit down and actually concentrate on it. "S": Rock on -
HiFi Novus Aevum - modular sound conversion
chammy replied to Mark XIII (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Ok A bit of humble pie and it tastes rather good Ok ok, the remark earlier was a bit off color and a bit , to say the least, uncalled for. I do know how much work can be put into making sound effects, even music because I make music also, I'm a guitar player, was a drummer, and finding the right quality in sound takes hours , days to get it perfect so I can understand how you come off there Mark. As I shrink into a dark corner with a bag over my head, I apologize to you and all others on this thread and if I've criticized any others before then an apology I offer. SInce I've been gone from BI Forums and have not played ArmA for some time now due to personal family life I have forgotten some of whom asked me for advice or suggestions or requests, even those who have criticized me , my inbox is full heh. So if I have shown a bit of immaturity and unprofessionalism on my part then forgive me :o I don't need anyone to respond with a "ahh its all good Chammy" or "its ok man" that sort of thing, its alright, no need for it  carry on -
HiFi Novus Aevum - modular sound conversion
chammy replied to Mark XIII (DayZ)'s topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
“Yes, a Jedi's strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan's apprentice.†-
