Making a mission where I am surrounded by the enemy troops with just five of my guys. When only me and another officer still alive, the enemy would offer us to surrender. I was thinking naming my other 4 guys like sol1, sol2, sol3, and sol4. In the trigger Condition put: not alive sol1 and not alive sol2 and not alive sol3 and not alive sol4 this would trigger RemoveAllWeapons from the surviving officer and I want to Sync him to the Surrender Module, so that he goes and surrenders. It doesn't work :confused: Any help from you guys would be very appreciated -

Thanks. For some reason the line: not alive sol1 and not alive sol2 and not alive sol3 and not alive sol4 doesn't work. The trigger goes off even they are still alive. Can someone explain this one? What am I doing wrong? -
Is it possible to have AI tank load HEAT ammo instead of default SABOT when the game starts or by a trigger?

Is it possible when you addweapon and addmagazine to a player to have it already be loaded when you start the game? -
I hope this Tochka doesn't need direct sight to hit a target. If this is some proprietary RHS missile launching system, can it be used with naval units? For example Gnats subs and destroyers? I have been waiting for this addon ever since one guy tried making Luna-M (Frog) for OFP, but never released it. Thanks RHS for making addons that had never existed in OFP or Arma.

The best products in our days are the ones that let the consumer have options. Perhaps it is a good idea to make each area of the game (infantry, flying or armor) adjustable. Let the player decide what he wants to be - a hardcore pilot or arcade master. We already have some small level of that in the game when setting up the difficulty. Lets take it to the next level. Each MP server can also pre-set certain conditions to the game. I know it's more work for the developers, but this should make the Arma an iconic customization game. With it's editor is almost there, but to end all the debates over who's tank is better or simulator vs arcade, just let the players set it up themselves.

I missed the times in OFP when you could tell your squad to hold fire, assign to each of them a target and then simultaneously let them open fire, taking down a patrol of 3-4 guys. If it was done right, you would never alarm the rest of the base. However, in OFP you could get the entire enemy base like that, like some bad Hollywood movie. Now, something in the middle ground would be great. Give player an option to take out a group of soldiers silently, but the vanished group could be discovered by their command within 5 or so minutes of disappearance. Close combat on Arma engine is unrealistic, IMO and probably not that necessary in RL if you have silenced weapons. Like someone said earlier, I would rather see Bohemians spend time and money on other things in this game.

Interesting how the article about Libya turned into love/hate Soviet discussion :) I guess this article just simply reaffirmed my believe that modern wars are never about politics, religion or any other beliefs. It's always about money. I also think that most people already know that as well. What makes me wonder however, is what can civilized people do to stop it? Is it even possible? Every time powerful nations invade their less fortunate neighbors with some bullsh.. story of WMD or terrorism or lack of democracy or socialist order, all we can do as a public is cry about it on forums and blogs, make a few movies, and make jokes on late night TV. That's about it, isn't it? The fat cats know this also, so they figure that they can do whatever they want. The worst thing that can happen is some criticism in the papers and maybe early retirement. Is that what we call a western civilization now? I like how the author of the article called us a dictatorship of the rich. The western civilization is no longer represented by democracy or republic, it is most definitely a corporatism, where large private companies make all the rules and elect the "right" politicians to enforce them. This is still a form of a despotism and dictatorship. So what makes us so different from the "axis of evil"? Well, we do it with much class and we give it better names I guess :) Anyways, the article made me think, so I thought I'll share it with you guys.

I think this is another side of the coin. In any conflict there is always two sides. At least I have never heard this side of the story in any western media. There is some truth here I think. Large financial organizations are controlling western politics, it's no secret. This could be their way of shutting down Africans from any independent banking system that uses their own currency. Gaddafi is an easy target, he is a real dictator, no questions there, but I think there is way more to the story that we hear on the news.

Vilas, Thank you for all the addons that you keep adding to this game! I haven't been following the game for a while and just downloaded your stuff and WOW... Impressive! You've been busy :) I noticed a strange behaviour of the AI manned BMP-2M. It was fighting the Bradley and after it destroyed it with AP fire, it kept on shooting the burning Bradley. While doing so it completely ignored the other enemy APC's and got blown up by another Bradley. Can you look into that please. Also, I keep getting CTD when I try to get in into empty Kraz. I was playing as a GRU Spetsnaz guy addon, but not yours. Last thing. If one day you will finish making all the addons that you want to make and you run out of ideas, could you please look into ground air defense for this game. We just don't have anything even remotely close to a good air defense in the game. Mando made a cool SAM site simulator, but we still don't have a good addon that it can be used with. One Russian addon maker made a whole bunch of static radars already, so it's a start. Perhaps productive guy like you can make the rest of the SA-2 or upgraded Pechora-M systems. -
Gnat I think it's time for you to start asking other addonmakers to make navy crew for these addons. Holy shit, they look good. ABout the special forces insertion, can they just "move" into a Zodiak boat to go on-shore?

I think you should say which addon maker was it, so other don't get burned by him. At least PM addon makers that you know.

Game freezes when I go into 3rd person to take a look from the front side of BMD-1P. Doesn't happen to BMD-1. I think there is something about that BMD-1P. It froze both times I tried. Arma never froze for me before.

I have been talking to Southy (Eble) about this addon from OFP. Originaly created by addonmaker from Russia named Timamas. Southy mentioned once in one of his posts that he tried contacting Timamas about the permission to convert. I got interested in the topic and also decided to get involved. I like Mig-31 and I really liked that addon from OFP. So, I tried contacting Timamas on the Russian forum Flashpoint.ru. However neither me, nor Southy had any response from the author. If I remember correctly, it is OK to convert other people's work if: 1. All that we could do has been done to get a permission. 2. All the proper credits would go to the origianl author of the addon. Now, if this has been done, do you guys think it is appropriate to go ahead and do the conversion? It is possible that Timamas is no longer active in Arma community, so he is not responding. What do you think Southy should do in this case?

blazer01, Thanks for that link to amazin3d, looks like a good source. Well, guys, thanks for all the comments, we can consider this discussion closed, unless someone has more ideas. I am not an addonmaker, so many of these things you said here is chinese language to me. I just wanted to find out the best way to convert the OFP Mig-31 to Arma. Southy is the one who converts models, not me. But I completely forgot that OFP model only had one pilot in it, which is a big no no for realism. So I am not too happy about the OFP Mig-31 now. Perhaps there is someone who can make Mig-31 in the future, I still believe there is room for that intercepter in the game. Until then fellas. Its been emotional. -

Oh,... didn't see that forum discussion. I'll go there and ask Placibo to help out. Thanks plaintiff1. Spooky, That Mig-31 is the only one we have that was made with BIS tools (I believe). So, unless someone is making Mig-31 from the scratch, I don't see why not convert the one from OFP. There is alway a use for dedicated AA interceptor in this game or it can be used for reccon missions. 31M version is not that good in real life. Mig-27 or Su-24/25 (both coming up) are probably better choices, but this is strictly imo. -
Well first of all thank you Gnat for all this work. The scripting is way cool. Things that were thought to be impossible are in the game now. Respect for you work maestro! Ka-27 is a nice touch indeed. I am not sure about the sound, never heard a real thing though, but seems a bit weak. But I could be wrong on this one. Kick ass missiles! Tanks and other vehicles in the impact area just don't stand a chance. Now, couple of questions. Is it possible to arm these guys with AA missiles? Is it also possible to target enemy vehicles from Ka-27, so that the gunner can fire missiles at them without a clear line of sight? And the last question. Submarines?

Thanks for these Datakill! Great work guys. Always wondered about this... Is it possible to have para units (like these VDV guys) have large backpacks when they are paradroping? Once they hit the ground, those packs just disappear, basicaly simulating the real thing. If you keep updating VDV, it will also be nice to see painted faces of recon units as a default. But not a biggie, just a though. Thanks for adding a female medic, nice touch! and also thanks for using RHS weapons pack. Definately the best eastern pack out there (except the VSS, the damn thing is way too loud for a silenced weapon! ) -

What I always wonder about the Su-34, does anyone have any success using its cannon vs. ground units? I can never point its crosshair on target. I do very well with addons (like RACS Mig-21/27), but Su-34 is nearly impossible. The entire game engine of ground attacking planes needs to be overhauled. It is so stupid for a bomber to slow down to nearly landing speed to drop one bomb on one target and slowly, slowly dive while Vulcans, Shilkas and even tank MG's are easily shooting it down. I have seen so many of Su-34's being easily taking down by .50 cals, its just plain stupid.
