What computing system do you have for the Arma 3 Beta?

Thinking about a new card , I have a HD5770 1gb ddr5 , should I got for the HD7870 Ghz Edition or step up into the entry level of the HD7900s ? -

Ability to play dead = new prone pose. Unless your dead even in full prone you can tell the enemy is alive I think it would add even more realism and be good for ambushes. -
Just had a quick go with the sniper, player as sniper I added a spotter in Editor and 1 enemy. I moved forward and went prone, enemy contact was on runway below my position, I heard my spotter call out enemy 600 yards - then he started to open fire. Q do you have to add commands in the editor to stop my spotter opening fire ? Another general Q? on weapons with bi pods to steady the weapon, how do you or can you put them into use.

Tried a search on this thread ? Destruction = will Arma3 have building destruction not the 4 walls falling in on each other kind, but being able to blow hole in buildings.

To see Road signs clearly ? I have tried it out , I can see the signs clearly standing some 6-7 feet away, move to 12 to 15 feet from the sign and its all blurred out .. I have a HD5770 with 1gb of DDR5 on it ...

I bought Arma2 and set most opts to high, but I get buildings flickering , roofs and walls coming in and out, sign posts only clear to read right up close, grass a stuff flickering and when running now and again the games freezes for a spilt second. Window XP SP3 Core2 E7400 2.8Ghz clocked to 3Ghz 4Gb DDR3 ATI HD5770 1Gb DDR5 I am not an expert but if the Core2 is not enough that would be more to do with Frame Rate would it not, as for the graphics 4GB DDR and a HD5770 1Gb DDR5 on board I would think should be enough to set to the highest settings. I did a test and set Graphic settings to Normal and ran the 2 benchmark missions .. No1 Daylight 46fps .. No2 Night with explosions .. 17fps.

Some of the signs and edges of buidling and canvas covers flicker in the demo, how do I stop this ? I had a HD5770 1Gb DDR 5 , there are new drivers out so I uninstalled the older ones rebooted and installed the new drivers , rebooted again. But when I went into the game to reset my res which had been 1600 x 1200 that choice of res was not in the list any more ? why would this be ? thanks

The crosshairs were so I would have a better view of the area zoomed. The 3D 100% - worked .. truth be told I didn't know what it did .. but much better now .. Thanks

in the demo I was on a hill side looking down into a court yard with an enemy squad in it, could not see them, left click to zoom didn't help, I heard the radio saying 1 click away. When they came out of the compound and onto the road I was told to target one of them a red circle appeared round him and the distance he was from me and it was 260 mts or yards ? but 260 - he was tiny and near transparent you could hardly make them out. I had very thing on very high .. 1600-1200 res ---------- Post added at 10:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:53 PM ---------- there is a rifle squad in that square ..even out on that road they didn't look that much better or bigger very hard to see.

Thanks all for the info .. One other thing about the game , the sun, now if I stand outside on a sunny day ( little chance of that in Scotland in July ) then no matter if the sun is in the east or west there is no change or very little of light. Yet in the game if I am facing away from the sun the land is brighter than if I face in the direction of the sun. It shows more so the little bird, facing away from the sun the panels are there to be seen, face in the direction of the sun the the shadow blacks out the panel and dials it should not be that harsh. And it should not be down to adjusting gamma.

As I said its not a purchase breaker ... The look of the game is fantastic , the lighting made the game graphics. One Q though , in the demo I went on the mission to attack the Mine , the gun I have ? I was 700-800mts out and using the scope I could not hit a thing, nor could I see how much I was missing by, the centre + was only of use and hitting enemy targets when I got down to about 500mts. Or am I miss using it?

Looks like I'll be getting after d/ld the demo , but in the edit part of the demo I was messing about in a tank next to an oil pipeline station. While I could destroy the buildings and the little bridge over the pipeline, no matter how many shells I fired at the pipeline it would not break , nor when I rammed at it full speed in a tank the tank just bounced back off it. While not a purchase killer , its a bit disappointing that in this new game (standalone) that you can't destroy pipelines with tank shells nor ram through it with a tank if that's you want.

I seen some of the bumf about OA and the mention or did I pick it up wrong , about a better gameplay engine or upgraded. Q? Is , this there an upgrade in OA to the gameplay engine, that includes better destruction of buildings and so on.
